  • As a new professional editor working from the bottom up, I figured this would be another great Expanded Scene to include in the theatrical version of ALIEN: COVENANT (2017). Moved a shot, etc. 4.3K views!
The prologue story "Last Supper" was directed by Luke Scott (Morgan), and originally intended for marketing purposes, not to be included in the actual film. I felt it was a pretty great scene overall, so I incorporated it with Ridley Scott's theatrical release version (a father and son creative bond).
Great moment for remembering the lost Covenant crew.
9 of 10 film editors would make a mistake of cutting "Last Supper" into the beginning of the film, but this is really where it belongs -- in the final act. Why? Matched themes, and a little breath before things get action packed and intense. Glad things worked out so easily. Thanks again. Enjoy! _c.

Covenant (According to Ridley Scott) was never intended to have Xenomorphs in it. It was supposed to be films about David, set in same universe that would eventually lead to Alien. But because of studio insistence, Xeno's got thrown in. I love these films and have always said, when you view them as films about the amazingly dark character David and our place in the universe they are amazing pieces of sci fi film, which should be remembered a lot more favorably than they are.

I actually love Alien: Covenant (2017), yet as a completely separate storyline from Ellen Ripley's experience. -- No need to "force" those pieces together either. David explored the Engineer's catacombs of data, and attempted to mimic their science, but he as a vile and "malfunctioning" robotic machine manufactured by human hands. Very interesting dynamic of "mad sciences" gone wrong. ☕

Thank you 20th Century Studios. Your awesome support is much appreciated... More Covenant soon! After two years of seeing this great footage floating around, I had to make an edit. Peace to all.
