It led to 3 months of psychosis when he was 25, already 6 years into illness. Because of the brain damage, he still feels pain always. His brain tells him this. This is the most recent song he wrote for the album. It makes me cry. And the power of the beat and the fierce honesty of the lyrics, take my breath away.

He then, bowed to his new god (his disease) and begged for mercy..... His bed was both a "tomb" and a "womb"; that births new problems and ailments...

My mum died at 56 years old after over 20 years of auto immune disease (scleroderma), watching her fade away was hard, I was 33 when she passed. I lost my first born son at birth when my wife was full term. My mental mind has done me a wrong. I have no interest in any films, series, music or anything until I discovered Ren. Well and a little dmt and mushrooms, but they were before ren and still didn’t hit my brain like he did. Thank you REN 🤟🏻💙

When I first heard the album and it opened with this song, I was blown away. Even after all the amazing music I had heard from him at that point, I could not believe that a song this powerful, meaningful and impactful would be the opener for the album - and nobody had really heard it yet! Another thing - that long pause when he asks for the third time, "Have you ever felt......................pain?" Damn man! That is like a punch to the gut!
as a chronically ill, disabled person who also has major mental health challenges, his music speaks to my life and my struggles. When I am in extreme pain I often deal with it by accepting it and trying to let it flow through me. "Pain the author, I accept this" is the only thing i repeat to myself as I survive it, breath by breath.
