God, that Nocturne gets me every time, whatever the format (strings or brass or, as here, winds). Lump in the throat time......

One of the most beautiful "slow pretties" ever written. This performance dragged a bit, but still so beautiful.

Marvelous stuff... I love Holst's wind band pieces. What a lovely work to wake up to... got several versions of this in my collection but not this one; good to hear it. Many thanks, old chap :)

Ere! Ya been on the bleedin’ Arthur Bliss again. Early to bed n’ early to rise makes a man bleedin’ angry.

I've been on the Arfur and now I'm Haydn in my room trying to make out (to the little woman) that I'm biZet. She shouted up to me alfven hour ago but I told 'her that I was fixing the handel on me door. The truth is, my beer barrel got a leak and I think I'm gonna need to get a couperin to mend it! Me drinking beer makes 'er moody and she starts bachin' an' givin' me lisZts of things to fix but I parry 'er outbursts by chopin and changin' my approach... don't wanna rubbra up the wrong way orr she'll get 'er coates and walk out. Who'd cooke for me then???

Hello, Mr Rodders! I thought I'd never see you again. I never got around to listening to this particular version of "A Moorside Suite" but now I intend on taking advantage of the opportunity ... as soon as I'm finished listening to the version of this same piece arranged by Gordon Jacob approximately three more times. I'm very slow when it comes to memorizing pieces of music note by note.

I finally listened to it! It's in the same key as the original brass band version arranged by the composer except this has horns, cymbals, and I don't know what other instruments that I'm unaware of. I think it's a very pleasant arrangement of the suite.
