Mach3 / Mach4 Parallel Port Settings and Errors Explained! (TB6560 Settings)

  • So over the last few days I had parallel port issues on new cnn router table. Mach3 and Mach 4 would not drive this controller no matter what I tried! I wanted to note Mach4 does have a 64bit driver now for parallel ports but it has tons errors! I would not advise using it! So over the last few days I have had a bunch of unexplained errors trying to run a 4 Axis TB6560 Board. To be clear the 3 Axis board has the same identical settings! Just lacks the 4th port and is a Expanding port that needs a controller attached to it! But still uses the same setup!
I Asked on forum about my problem and people look at the pc screen on other side puzzled it seems! Cause like many they can't figure it out either! There really is a bunch of info that is kind of there but not really out there. So by process of trial and error came to the realization of what actual cause was! So I hope this solves some of the issues people have with Mach 3! One axis only moves in one direction, Or when Stepper Screams noise caused by static, or when one axis is just flat out dead! Granted there is other reasons but normally in a fresh install those reasons are not relevant at the time!
Tb6560 requires a pin in voltage of 5-9 Volts to operate correctly!
PCIE Can support 3V max (Which will not work)
PCI Can support 6V Max (which will work)
ISA Can Support 9V MAx (Which Will Work)
Any Motherboard P1,P2,P3,P4, Xeon 6-9V Max CPU (Which will Work)

As long as a parallel port is set to bidirectional it should work perfectly fine with match 3. Provided your os windows is 32bit version. Os versions 64bit do not work at all with parallel ports.

Rebooting? Pc? If pc reboots when controller is plugged into the PC via parallel port. Normally means you have high voltage powering your controller itself. They run on 5v. Or off the parallel port cable. Make sure your psu to power your motors is not connected to the 5v+ or 5v-. Backfeeds into your PC and PC psu goes into safe mode as a result. Most common issue when PC reboots. Soon the port driver loads. Reboot

Good info,, what is your e-mail,, i might need some more help. Just bought a win 7 computer , have not checked if it is 32 bit yet.. it does not have a parallel port,,, have to check if it has PCI or ISA. slots. You would think a jumper wire to 6 volt the PCI slot would fix this.. I might have to buy and old mother board... good info.. why are you sitting on the floor?

If it has new pci Express its 3v. If it has old white pci slots parallel port is 6v parallel port runs off those bus systems 99% time. Win32 is must. 64bit does not work at all
Mach 3 and 4 will both say not supported. Some 64bit win10 pcs will work with usb links. But they error alot and freeze. There is other cutting programs though run 64bit just fine. Mach 3 and 4 is not one of them!
