I worked on a record with Kilbey in the early 90s and he was in a very creative period, and doing junk everyday. He worked very long hours and was completely committed to the music. I told him I was concerned that his addiction would eventually be his undoing. But it didn’t negatively impact the work, and likely enhanced it. I’m happy he’s clean now.

One should perhaps distinguish between happiness and peak experiences. The latter can be sad and still saught. I think strong sadness may be what sad music expedites.

Kilbey told me he hated Under the Milky Way, and to never mention it again. I never did.

Hey Steve, your bass notes can be played by your thumb while strumming, Am, F#, F, E. It's not your base line, but those bass notes do and always did compliment those chord changes brilliantly.
