I just watched this movie, so I could appreciate your reaction. I loved the build-up and the lead performances were outstanding. I’m just wrestling with whether the ending actually delivered. And, yes, those opening studio logos were something else!
I've never even heard of this movie but I think I'll watch it now. I like seeing David Dastmalchian in a leading role, his parts are usually so small. The number of production company logos at the beginning was kind of funny. I was reading about this movie and there are eleven listed, from Australia, the US and the UAE. Wow. And it was filmed over only 20 days. Again, wow. Up until a couple years ago I lived in Guerneville, a few miles from Bohemian Grove (I now live about 25 miles from it), which will be happening in a few weeks. There are all kinds of stories about that place and I've known a few people who've worked there in a hospitality capacity, which is the only way women are allowed on the premises, and the few I know who've worked there said they have to be gone by nightfall because it's not safe for them once it's dark. Apparently the members behave badly, which doesn't surprise me given who they are. They try to keep a low profile out there but when all the private planes start flying in and the protesters line the road leading up to it, it's hard to ignore. Some people think a bunch of occult stuff goes on out there, and there are lots of stories, but my biggest problem with the whole thing is that policy gets decided at Bohemian Grove and not everyone who should be in on making those policies is invited. It's almost exclusively a right wing membership. Anyway, it's an interesting place with a weird vibe. 🖖🏽
@@shandoratthecinema4098 They've been churning out trouble there for just over 150 yrs now, and who knows where they met before that. When they're done raping the Redwood forests for all they're worth they'll start meeting somewhere else. I know there are a lot of people who go out there to protest because they're weirded out by some of the dumb ass pagan ceremonies they perform, but my problem with the place is that policy that affects everyone is decided out there, but not everyone who has a say in that policy is invited. It's all very shady (multiple puns intended). ✌🏽🖖🏽🤘🏽
