I absolutely love this little film. Have seen it many times. Will is perfect as Harold! Great supporting cast. So glad you checked it out and enjoyed! He did another drama called Everything Must Go, which I liked.
I love this movie!! Every time I see another superhero movie or remake of some kind I think of brilliant stories like this - creative, unusual, thought provoking - and I know there are other people out there like me who crave stuff like this. I know it's difficult to get a movie made when it's not going to have mass appeal and I'm just thankful that now and then one squeaks through the whole process of getting a movie made. And I feel similarly about Will Ferrell, he's usually too over the top for me, but I loved him in this. There are so many great movies out there that are flying under most peoples' radar. Low budget movies like Coherence, which takes place in one evening in one house, or Mystery Men, one of the few superhero movies I like, which bombed at the box office. Stuff like I 🖤Huckabees, a funny little movie (also starring Dustin Hoffman) about a man whose life is falling apart so he goes to see a couple of existential detectives. Or I Love You To Death (1990), with the great Tracey Ullman, which is loosely based on a real case and is hilarious. Or Valhalla Rising, with Mads Mikkelsen, who is brilliant but speaks not a single line in the whole movie (another box office bomb). I absolutely love the movies you pick out to watch for your channel and I look forward to every one of your uploads. 🖖🏽
I always bounced off the big Will Ferrel movies. I think him and John C Riley are brilliant comedians, but together it just gets too silly for me. But this movie is a stroke of genius. Thank you for giving it a go and I'm so glad to welcome another fan to our quirky little crew!

This is an incredibly inventive and as well executed as it was conceived. The love story does not feel forced, it is actually compelling and charming. The ingenious narrative device demanded someone who could play goofy and bizarre like Will Ferrell as well as someone with the gravitas of Emma Thompson, and they should have gotten Oscars. Dustin Hoffman is great as well. One of the most original films of the last 40 years. Would love to see other reactors pick up on this, it has all the elements of a great reaction. It just needs more people to know about it. Atonement is another one you should check out. Much, much more serious, but brilliant and overlooked film.

Emma Thompson is an excellent actress, she’s also a great screenplay fixer. She helps fix scripts.

Will Ferrell surprised me in this, so I decided to try another comedy-drama with him, "Everything Must Go"... It was...excellent!
An older movie called Harold and Maude is a strange yet satisfying movie of a young man and an older woman. You may get a kick out of it.
