To little honor is given to the gem who co-wrote this movie and directed it. She even plays in it. Her name is Bonnie Hunt and she is the one playing the sister. I think she is a comedic genius and this movie was very well written and directed.

Something my sisters and I love about this movie is all the somewhat random bits of humor that are found in everyday life. It's like what you were saying about side characters. One of my favorite moments is when Bob gets his truck back from the valet driver when he makes his getaway from the disastrous blind date, he has to move the seat way back because the valet driver was so much shorter. Such a simple moment that isn't important to the story at all, but it gives the movie a sense of reality because we've all experienced the need to adjust the seat in the car after someone else drove it.

Y’all should watch David Duchovny in this movie called “House of D”. He wrote it, directed it and played a roll as well. His ex wife had a smaller part as well. It also stars the late Robin Williams and the late Anton Yelchin and Robin’s real daughter Zelda. It’s one of my favorites and really made me become a huge fan of Anton, his performance was phenomenal.

Thank you for watching one of more favorite movies. It’s a hidden gem for sure. This movie takes place in Chicago and another fun fact is that Bonnie Hunt (she plays Megan) actually wrote and directed this film. A similar movie I think you girls would enjoy is “A Stranger’s Heart” it’s a Hallmark movie made in 2007.

The leading man is David Duchovny, also seen in the comedies "Evolution" and "Zoolander".
The best friend is Bonnie Hunt(who alsodirected the movie!), well-known for her voice work in films like "Momsters, Inc.", "Cars", and "Zootopia".
This film was a beautiful finale to yhe career of Carroll O'Connor(Grandpa Marty).
Oh, ad the Sinatra song you were thinking of was "Fly Me To The Moon".

You´re right about the importance of side characters in these kind of movies. That´s what makes "When Harry Met Sally", "Sleepless in Seattle" etc. so good.

This brings back memories. Writer/director/actress Bonnie Hunt used to talk about this movie on her talk show. She is also a former nurse. Carroll O'Connor, the grandfather, played Archie Bunker on the TV show All In The Family for 9 years. The guy with the hair transplant, Don Lake, was Bonnie's sidekick/comedic partner on her talk show. I remember him from Canadian TV commercials.

There are so few movies that truly work without an antagonist. This is one of the few. The writing and execution are just perfect. And this is coming from a guy whose favorite movies are Tombstone, the Matrix, Star Wars and Gladiator. 😀

I’ll admit this is a film I'm not overly fond of. My mom really likes it a lot though. One moment I do get a big kick out of is when Jim Belushi’s character jumps to the wrong conclusion about Bob being married, and how he gets protective and offers to beat Bob up. And after he hears the line, “Grace has Bob's dead wife's heart!” upon processing the rather odd statement how he calms down and says, “He's not married? Huh. Ok.” That part I do like.

I had written and hoped you'd get a chance to watch RETURN TO ME, I always watch the full version and the YT edit - it's an old-fashioned love story so innocent, sweet, and sincere. This is a beautiful story of finding true love, knowing how lucky you are to have true love and the power of friendship and family. Return To Me is a beautiful romance; the lead actors and cast were terrific in their roles. I could not picture anyone else playing these characters. It's sensitive and believable, and the movie was good because of the love of family and life. Family, friends, and finding love again, what more could you ask for?
You and your sister are suckers for a good romance and you want a good cry, tears of joy, and some laughs, and a happy ending - then this is the film for you. It will be on your list of favorites. They don't make Romcoms like this anymore. Thank you, your precious sister, and the team that help brings your reactons to the hearts of those who love you and what you do.
