Incredible review! As a hobbyist, I picked up a zoom lens for the normal needs, and I usually only use the zoom and a 20mm. But i have been in several situations where I could tilt, and I'm torn between these affordable 50mm tilt lenses... No electronic contacts really hurts, though. When an affordable version of the canon 17mm TSE comes out, I'll probably pick that up even if it has no electronic contacts, no stabilization (is that possible on tilt shift?), no filter thread, no weather sealing, plastic body, and bad customer support. If it has a relatively sharp image wide open, and hopefully f/4 or better, then this hobbyist is happy.
No electronic contacts can really be an issue, especially if you're taking videos, you won't have as good stabilization. But if you use 17mm, the tilt effect might not be as obvious, (shift effect will be better though).
Thanks for the nice review! Since I heard about this lens Ive been waiting for reviews to pop up on youtube, can't wait to get one for my fuji camera. Image quality seems ok at best wide open but cant really complain at this price point.
Cool! I’ve never tried an adapter like that. For the shift function, I think wider focal length would be more useful, but the tilt 50mm works fine.
