Woo hoo - I was actually really excited when I found out about this lens. Native tilt lens for Sony. 50mm. f/1.4! What to need more! In this video I take you with me on a shoot in Amsterdam, where I do my best to explain how to use Tilt lens for creative portraits. Shot on Sony A7IV and TTartisan Tilt 50mm f/1.4. Oh I just love the look of Tilt Shift Portraits.. The pictures you showed at the beginning are just amazing! Not to mention the shot with the birds in the background.. mind blowing!
I use my Nikkor TS 45 for a couple weeks now and still have to learn to create portraits like these. But it is worth it :)

Excellent work! Thank you for inspiring me to keep working with this lens, instead of giving up on it because I couldn't find good compositions/tilt angles. Were you shooting wide open for most of these street shots?
I use a couple of lensbaby lenses that do a similar thing, the SOL45 that gives a sweet spot in the middle area depending where you tilt, and the edge 50mm that gives a slice of focus. Depending on how you tilt or F stop changes the effect.

have you tried the tt artisan 100mm tilt shift, very close to purchasing for Sony a7r5

Mając Tiltshifta często używałeś funkcji shifta czy raczej wyłącznie tilta? I nie jest jedynym. Jest jeszcze Samyang Tilt/Shift 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC Właśnie sam zastanawiam się pomiędzy tymi dwoma szkłami i skłaniam się do 50mm - jakoś 24mm wydaje mi się za szerokie ale może się mylę....

Which presets are you using?
May I ask a question? First off, this is a fantastic video...since you approach your analysis of this lens from a perspective of creating serious images, versus treating this a tilt lens as just a "novelty".
Q: In large format (4x5) photography, I'm accustomed to lens/ focal plane tilt as a means of ensuring near foreground features (e.g., boulders, trees, grasses, etc.) are in focus...while also ensuring distant features (e.g., mountain top, etc.) are also in focus. Does this type of tilt lens facilitate that same goal? (I will watch this video again to better understand the images you presented.) :)

You made my buy one for my Z9! I see that the lens is very soft at F1.4. I assume you shot all the images in this video, stopping down? Maybe F2.8?

it will, but it will give a you a cropped field of view - it will make it from 50mm to around 75mm

Very affordable lens and interesting effect. Love the colors from presets. But won’t be buying one, tilt effect doesn’t appeal to me. Thanks for explanation though.

Such images look very unnatural, when only half of the bacground is blurry. Weird. When you look at such pictures it seems like something is wrong. They create an uneasy feeling.
