- Cracking Open the Restrictive Intakes of US Spec M156 Motors | W204 MERCEDES BENZ C CLASS C63 AMG
Today I perform my first oil change on my W204 Mercedes C63 AMG using LiquiMoly and Ceratec. I also swap out the stock airboxes for the ROW boxes. Which, are still OEM but did not come on US-spec vehicles. While I had the filters out of the airboxes, I went ahead and put in the aFe drop-in filters since the others were dirty.

One day I’ll get a c63 🙏
You’ll get one, I just got mine in august
Me too brother I hope so one day
You’ll get it. They cheap bro. I got rid of my C63 to get a E63. Love them both.
Man I was so happy to see you do a proper cleaning of the air box before installing the new air filters and putting everything back together. This is pretty much what I do when I work on my car. I take my time to clean, especially on a job involving the air box and cabin filter. I hate seeing RUclips vids where they're showing you how to change or do something and dont bother to wipe or vacuum the area before putting in the new part and closing things up. Maybe they might do a quick wipe, but it drives me nuts! Don't put in a new part in a dirty area. So major kudos to you for doing a thorough cleaning of the air box!
Nice C63, I think you will definitely gain some HP from removing that air flow restriction. If you had a Dragy GPS and saved the old filters you can do a pull before and after. The gains will be bigger at higher speeds with this mod.
You are a bot or friend for money, can I use your big tongue for "thanks" comments?
It sounds a lot better after. You guys in the US get screwed with that airbox. Wow.
First thing I did to mine. No difference bottom end but helps top end.
Thats what Ive heard
The exhaust note sounds deeper to me. Congrats on the easy mod. Do you have a tune?
No tune yet, stock map. Considering doing something with the exhaust like headers but not sure yet
No oil cooler oil change?
I didn’t get it on camera
I recently bought one of these, and everytime I stop at a light itll revup to 1000 - 1200 rpm then drop back down to around 500. Is this normal?
Not normal. I had the same issue and after I did the PCV problem was resolved. That video is going up in a few days!
@@evans-garage Replacing the PCV valve then? Thanks, I'll look into that
My idle is a bit rough, and my left bank is running lean. Not sure if it was related to my ROW box install or not, but I’m also doing my PCV valve right now. Hopefully that will clear it up
What "Ceratec" additive are your referencing? I'd like to look into it. TKs.

do you put 1 or 2 bottles of ceratec ?
It’s been a while, 2 I believe. Check the bottle to oil ratio. It should tell you how many bottles per # of quarts
Video for nothing, don't do this, you will spent money for nothing
