I found that a infrared thermometer measured at the trans pan near the drain plug was useful if you didn't have a scanner to see the transmission temperature. I used one along with a DAS a few times before I trusted the thermometer on its own.
Alex, I recognize that fluid pump. I got mine from Harbor Freight I used it to my transmission in my A4. I do like how Mercedes lets you drain the torque converter.
Hi, your c63 videos are great; I am currently finishing rebuilding 2011, looks same as yours; would you be able to post badge dimensions and spacing, both trunk lid and fenders, I have removed badges and painted them black, but now am looking for correct spacing of letters; btw, does the repair manual contains correct postioning of badges? appreciate your help!

Apparently theres a transmission cooler that can also be flushed through a connection on the side of the transmission? I have a W203 with the om642 engine and the 722.9 transmission so the transmission service will be really usefull. Thanks Alex
Sound-wise, for me, AMG's 6.2-litre V8 is second only to Maserati's GranTurismo/ GranCabrio's Ferrari V8, be it the 4.2 or 4.7L. The Mazza sounds more exquisite somehow.
Nice video, inspired me to do something with my C55 this weekend, oil change and a trip to the drag strip. My E55 needs a trans service and a rear subframe bushing. Is it strange that I've started looking at C63s with no plans of selling my C55 or the E55?
This is the best Mercedes channel ever lol. I heard these C class models like even the basic ones also have electrical issues. Sad, such a good.looking mobile
@1:35: maybe you should invite Tavarish over; something tells me he'll buy your "Tavarish tape" bits! :) BTW, if you hold down the left flappy paddle, the transmission will downshift into the lowest possible gear for the road speed, to provide maximum whoosh! Also, the rev-matching function is factory, at least in sport mode.
Hi Alex, I can’t seem to find your link to the repair manual online. I tried clicking to the link that you copied down below. It doesn’t work. Do you have the URL code?
Mercedes has hot wire main terminals attached spare tire side it s a plastic terminal goes melt check that main wire terminal located in trunk by spare tire good video...
Hey mate, what scanner do you use that can link to your phone? Iv got the same battery issues come up + TRC , ABS light on my C63 and Id say start with changing the battery. I had the original OEM MB AGM battery in mine and there really was no issue but on crank sometimes it would drop down to 8.5V which I think triggered some faults.
LegitStreetCars, Was just wondering if you figured out the pedal issue at 16.02. Did you end up replacing the pedal? My C300 did that yesterday when I was taking it to the dealership to have the AC worked on.
@LegitStreetCars it needs blue fluid if the car has engine start stop system with the additional transmission oil pump in the front bottom of the trans. If it has not, it needs red oil.
Hey man can you do a full detailed video on how to do the transmission service. I’m struggling with how much fluid I need to refill, especially because I don’t have a scanner that can calculate temperature
You can't just calculate, you need to fill with either 6qt or 9qt depending on including torque converter or not. Then you at least need to buy an Infrared Thermometer which rates at 1-2 celsius variance from OEM systems. Once at set temp, then drain until it sputters.
the sound of that beast is awesome. I wish my 2003 e500 sounded half that good. need to upgrade...;-) just like my e500, because it sits for so long some new electronic gremlin pops up. sometimes the air suspension up front jacks all the way up, now the A/C does not come on, think is the control module, every other component is new.
The tune adds the throttle blip when u come off throttle or downshift... great that u got that tune setup with the purchase. Saved u alot of money , and just gotta pay couple hundred for re-tunes.
Wow. I'm as finicky about repair as the next Merc owner yet question that trans-pan. Would there really be a service schedule e.g. Service A/B for the gasket?

I have a W203 with the om642 engine and the 722.9 transmission so the transmission service will be really usefull. Thanks Alex
that 6.2 V8 sounded amazing
Can that launch scanner do the compression test you did on the laptop a few videos back ?
No, not at all. Its not the best for Mercedes
The exhaust sounds just as good as any American muscle car I've ever heard.
Sound-wise, for me, AMG's 6.2-litre V8 is second only to Maserati's GranTurismo/ GranCabrio's Ferrari V8, be it the 4.2 or 4.7L. The Mazza sounds more exquisite somehow.
Don't forget alex, when connected to SDS/xentry you can perform shift and torque converter adaptations to help your shifts.
Holy crap! Don't think I have ever seen transmission fluid that dark and dirty before. It was definitely time to change it
Nice video, inspired me to do something with my C55 this weekend, oil change and a trip to the drag strip.
Alex, which code scanners do you use? Maybe you could do a video on which you like and why.
"but if you are just working on Mercedes spend the money on the STAR or Xentry Diagnosis system." you got a link/links for these?
Ford Mod engines are one of the best sounding engines imo. Most V8s just sound good regardless of brand tbh.
Mercedes has hot wire main terminals attached spare tire side it s a plastic terminal goes melt check that main wire terminal located in trunk by spare tire good video...
Great video Alex! I hope you made it to work in the E55!!😉👍
Great video !!! Best youtube channel hands down !!!! And these cars have a locking converter when put in Manual mode
Are those desiccant bags typical replacements on all cars? First time i have seen those.
Hey Alex I really enjoyed all your videos, keep them coming!
Are you going to do a c63 header install video? That would be great content.
Oh you know it
This channel is pure fun, keep it going!
That joy in your face is priceless
the sound of that beast is awesome.
A RUclipsr that actually uses factory torque values? Subscribed!
I had the red battery light on my SL55. It was my voltage regulator on the alternator. $50 to fix it.
The only important thing in this video is the candy in the trunk
17:27
When it rains, it pours. I had all types of crazy stuff go on with my Cadillac. Changed alternator and battery for good measure, all was good after that. Though it is pretty anxiety inducing.
The añswer for the sounds it's second to none..
M156 sounds good.... but my heart is with the M113K - with its deep bass....
