I'm not always comfortable with references to research by the Oyinbos on our Roots and Herbs. We have Nigerian Scientists that have carried out extensive research on same and even more. But we don't value and encourage our own. Pharmacist Zainab Sheriff is one Scientist that has written several books on this after decades of Research. She's been Head of Department of Alternative and Traditional Medicines, Federal Ministry of Health.
