Huh?!? One of the finest cars ever made? Compared to what? Please tell that to my 2016 Camry with the slipping slushbox of a transmission, and brake rotors that won't stay true for longer than 20K miles, and the driver's door lock solenoid that works only when it feels like it, etc. etc. etc. And, yes, I've kept up with maintenance religiously and only installed quality replacement parts. Overall, it's just an OK car -- nothing remarkable -- and certainly not the finest car I've ever owned. Consumer Reports loves to rave about how wonderful Toyota and Honda vehicles are, but I double-dog dare you to do a quick Google search of "2016 Toyota Camry problems" (or feel free to substitute whatever model/year you feel like), or "Honda transmission problems." Glad you're madly in love with your Camry, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
@@jamesbeckett160275k miles before I even had to replace the brake pads in my 16 Camry Hybrid, only needed rotors because my wife drove for weeks on worn pads, haven’t had any other issues with mine, sorry you got a lemon
It was almost perfect. I followed every step of taking it apart. Thank You, you made my job easier. I bought the same Roadanvi Radio and I took the brackets off of the Factory Radio and added it to the Roadanvi radio. It was a perfect fit. With the metal brackets on, I got the radio more secured in the dash. with the (4) 10mm bolts. That was my only discrepancy with your installation. Otherwise, I followed your directions to a tee. Thank You! Also, the climate control gets screwed into the bracket too. More secured Climate Control.
Thank you for really showing us the details on doing this upgrade. You are very clear and actually explain step by step process. I appreciate that for dummies like me. 🤣
Looked at a few mounting brackets for aftermarket stereos for the 16 Camry and most of the reviews talk about how poor the directions are for installation. Glad I found this video, definitely going to reference it when I finally get around to doing my own install. Thanks for the upload!
So, this video made it possible for me to change out my internal touch screen for my 2016 camery. I was able to save my old head unit and change the internal touch screen. This video saved me from buying a new head unit Thank you God bless
Nice video! I shouted you out in my first ever video a few weeks ago. I installed a RockGhost V2 in my '14 Camry. Please pardon I got the facts of the shoutout a lil confused but thanks, nonetheless for all of your content! 😅
Thanks so much for this! I got my unit installed nicely. The only problem is that the volume won’t adjust - either with the head unit or the driving wheel controls. It’s just one volume the whole time. Do you know why? And how I can fix? From internet searches, there are some people who blame Toyota (I have 2015 Camry), and some blame Apple CarPlay. 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for video sir! Just wanted to ask you how is it holding up until now? Any issues? I am planning of getting this also for my 17 Camry. Steering also works right? You said the apple carplay sometimes disconnect. Are you connected through your hotspot from your phone? TIA!
You’re welcome! It’s still working fine. The steering wheel buttons work perfect and you can even change them through an app on the stereo. I am connected wirelessly through Bluetooth and WiFi. It will disconnect maybe once out of every 20 times but I can connect it right back.
Were you able to install netflix on yours? I wanted to install but it says my device not compatible. How about the simcard. It says 2 sim card but I only see one. Thanks!
Watch the video at 16:11 The yellow “Camera” harness connection hooks to the “Camera In” cable on the radio. Also, some have been able to unhook the battery for a few mins to reset everything to get it to work. Try that first.
There's a yellow cable coming from one of the adapters that plugs into the factory harness. It plugs into one of the 2 yellow cables on the head unit. There may be 2 different yellow cables so try them both.
I have a 2015 Camry with the JBL package. Do you know if the Atoto S8 Ultra 10.1 would fit? It is a double DIN as stated on anazon. Also what wire harness would i need to buy?
Does the car settings menu still work with this installed? I have a ‘16 hybrid and am wondering if I would lose the native menus including the hybrid menu.
I can’t speak for hybrids as I have no experience with installing in one. However, there are menus that show mpgs etc. but they seem to be more gasoline centered.
Thanks for the detail video. I noticed you had the carabc decoder. I am contemplating if I should upgrade the stereo or continue using the decoder. Do you think it's worth it? The decoder works most of the time for wireless carplay, but the screen quality is terrible and I've had some minor glitches that are annoying. I do like the OEM look so that's why I am hesitant. Thanks for the input.
I just replaced my factory radio, it was so worth it. Took a couple of hours, but was well worth it with Apple Car play and a huge map for directions. Definitely do it, it was worth the money!
I find when you turn the battery power on with the key there is a constant static noise in the cabin from the speakers. Does this help with that noise?
Possibly, but this uses the factory OEM wiring and your issue sounds like it could possibly be a loose ground in your factory wiring harness. But it could also be a problem with your current head unit which would be fixed by replacing it with this unit. I can't say for sure though. Thanks for watching!!
If you haven't purchased the cheaper model from ebay, DON'T! I did and ended up yanking it out and installing a Joying. You're better off paying the price and getting a Roadnavi, Joying, Daisata, etc. Those cheap units are nothing but a headache!
Im thinking about this brand and Dasaita. I would like to know your opinion on this. I read some bad reviews on this particular head unit. What would you say is it worth it? Thank you.
I have both this one in my Camry and the Dasaita unit in my RAV4. The only issues I’ve had with either is CarPlay sometimes disconnects. Usually turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on my phone then turning them back on takes care of this. Other than that, they’ve both been great.
Sweet! I also have seen that there’s a bad gap between the stereo and the climate controls. Is that true? And I’ve also heard there’s an annoying little robot dude that’s on the screen and never goes away
The gap between the climate controls is not great. There’s no android robot that I’ve seen other than the start up animation. But it goes away as soon as it boots.
Sweet sorry I keep having questions but I’m on the fence about buying. Are you also able to keep all of the controls like steering wheel and the car options controls?
Can you still use the steering wheel phone buttons and dobrhey work the same as the factory unit .. Like the botton that you can speak to call a contact ?
@Blvdballer Hmm now that you mention it… seems like I do remember there being an issue with ones of the buttons. This is my wife’s car so I don’t drive it. I’ll double check those buttons and get back to you. 😉
@ProjectDIY2 I would appreciate that very much. I like my stock radio feature that I can just push the talk button and tell it to call one of my contacts. I'm hoping I will be able to do that still and talk through the unit .
Mine is the 8/128 version. 8G of RAM and 128G of storage. The 8G RAM version will have a snappier user interface vs the 4G version and more storage space if you wish to store music on the head unit.
I had this unit installed yesterday and when I put the car in reverse the music stop playing is that normal? And when I call someone FaceTime the person on the other end can’t see me only my profile picture… is that normal as well? And how do I get the Toyota symbol to appear on the unit?
No , you can connect to Sirius from your phone you do need to have the Sirius app open on the headunit and phone while using it though that’s the only drawback I hope that helped
No, since we primarily use CarPlay, a data connection is not necessary. iPhone uses its own data connection and displays the info on the screen and pushes the audio over Bluetooth.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like Roadanvi sent you this stereo for free. That said, if I were to fork over nearly $500 on an aftermarket stereo, I wouldn't be quite as forgiving as you concerning the fit and finish of the trim on this unit. I'm not overly OCD, but rewinding the video and seeing how nice and tight the trim fits with the factory stereo, then fast-forwarding toward the end, and noticing the gaps on the new stereo trim where it meets the dash -- left me cringing 😬. I mean, good on you for scoring a free deck but for me, I couldn't live with those gaps.

@@ProjectDIY2 Great, thanks for the fast reply!
@vincefiore No problem. I just happened to have my phone in my hand 😂
Hey man did you get your factory camera to work with the radio ? And was your factory camera a yellow rca cable as well?
There's a yellow cable coming from one of the adapters that plugs into the factory harness. It plugs into one of the 2 yellow cables on the head unit. There may be 2 different yellow cables so try them both.

Yes, the stock backup camera works.

I can’t speak for hybrids as I have no experience with installing in one. However, there are menus that show mpgs etc. but they seem to be more gasoline centered.

No issues. Thanks for watching!
Can you use the stock back up camera and microphone from the Camry
You can use the stock backup camera but not the microphone. The stereo comes with a built in microphone and an external microphone

Definitely worth it for the screen alone. Much brighter, much clearer and much larger!
I just replaced my factory radio, it was so worth it. Took a couple of hours, but was well worth it with Apple Car play and a huge map for directions. Definitely do it, it was worth the money!
Did you have to do anything special getting the radio to connect with the back up camera?
Yes, several people have had backup camera issues after install. Unhooking the battery for 10 minutes usually fixes this.
@@ProjectDIY2 does the radio use the existing backup camera or do you have to route a different camera?
@jcellio7604 It uses the stock backup camera
Thank for you video, but I have a problem after I installed, the backup camera resolution is very low ,can you tell me how to fix it😂?
Are you using the stock camera? If so, I’m not sure what would cause that. I would contact the manufacturer.
Would this be same as an EKAT head unit? It looks the same as what I have which is EKAT and not ROADNAVI. Thanks.
I’m not really sure, sorry.
Did you also plug in the front camera plug? I have bought the same one as you and my backup camera doesn’t work at random times
