I wish there were more shops like yours where I live. Clear goal, execution and checking with the costumer. Even when you do something the unusual way it doesn't compensate the end result nor look too hacky (well, maybe the shifter seems a bit messy, but that's WIP).
The driveline torque issue on rwd cars would disappear if the differential was linked to the transmission. Some cars like the Porsche 924/944/968 series, also the 928 had a rear transmission with a torque tube from the engine. The Ferrari 365 GTC (and maybe other models) had a torque tube between the front-mounted transmission and differential. The only current car I know of which attends to this is the Mazda MX5 Miata, which has a sort of girder bridge.
A less smelly way to do those is to cut the rubber with a hole saw. If you want to not have to buy a new bush / ball joint tool DON’T USE IMPACT GUNS on them! Spin them down until they start to grab with a gun if you want but an impact gun destroys the threads.
Why solid aluminum everything instead of a hard poly or even delrin? Surely you want *some* kind of compliance, especially with the motor mounts for longevity of the engine? And Joe, I must give you kudos on the color choice. Yellow has always been the best Z car color every generation.
This is my car, ignore the Jack Sparrow my Pirate of the Caribean alter ego, and jeeze I am a young 64. I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on solid mounts. Matt and Shehryar said this is the way to go. This fully eliminates wheel hop. And the ride is acceptable, IMHO. The only time there is a bit of a thud from the rear is a pothole or really really badly broken pavement. I am happy I went this route. The power gets down more efficiently with the solid motor mounts. And the Eibach sway bars have transformed the car. Turn in is way way faster and better with no body roll. Car control is so much better and it no longer pushes through the corners. Next up maybe coilovers and a helical LSD - Wavetrack anyone. If any one wants to donate these I would be glad to accept and I am sure XF would do a video. Anyway my mellow yellow is going for a long winter’s nap. See you on the mean streets in the spring.
Nice thing, but one thing caught my attention. For sway bars, shouldnt it be other way around ? Front stiffest, back softest to induce more oversteer, instead of stock tendency to understeer.
The video made it look so easy but I know how much of a pain it is. I went thru the same process on my S13. Wish I had an air hammer like you tho. I used a hacksaw and a chisel.
@@einfelder8262 Indeed. I don't know WFT is this guys thinking. Both the car and the setup are for 16yo, 135 lb asian international students with rich dads. Save the money for this BS car and get an age appropriate mercedes AMG. lol

for someone who dont have experience understeer will be better as it have more margin compared to negative understeer gradient

lol, matt just _looked_ like a mechanical engineer! super strong team at xf motorsports, and fantastic work, as always.
Bro! Waiting for the videos on Mercedes conversion
Great video! Just finished watching all your suspension geometry videos and it was nice to see some of that put into action here
do you also lowering the engine height after putting dry sump on it?
The adaptor between engine and transmission is a key structural element of the chassis. It would be a lot of work to lower the engine.

That's what im saying , thats pretty hard-core old man to drive metal bushings. Then not even track it

Use appropriate size hole saw to cut old bushing out.

What happened to the S2k?
Is it possible to do a Camshaft swap without removing the timing chain tensioner on a M113 engine
Solid mounts are gunna be... something for sure... on a street car... I thought I went hard...
Lmaooo
Solid mounts are gonna do a number on this guy's prostate. I question the idea unless it's for exclusive track use. lol
100% agree. First drive in the rain and snow and he'll be back to put the softer mounts back in and adjust that rear sway bar softer.

Wow 😮I’m just shocked you mentioned and recommended Mr Benjamin Harold. I thought people don’t know him, he is really awesome.
How do I contact Mr Benjamin Harold?
@Mirajapur Thank you for the info, I can comfortably buy the dip without the fear of losing.
