    Love the show guys. It has quickly become my favorite podcast!
    I haven’t tried the new calibers, but for now 25-06 with 85 grain Nosler Balistic Tips is my favorite for open country thermal coyote hunting.
    I know most will bag on it because it’s super old school, perhaps overkill, and burns a lot of powder. However, if you don’t care about those things, it’s the same trajectory as 22-250 w/55gr and has equal energy at 400 yards as the 22-250 has at at 200 yards. Almost always eliminates runners and makes recovery a whole lot easier at night.
    Keep up the good work!

    You will not beat the 204 ruger for 0-300 yard coyote shooting. 39 gr blitzkings are fantastic on fur as well.

    I'm really late to this, but WOA barrels are GTG. They use Shilen blanks on the WOA marked barrels, and they have very high representation in Highpower shooting.

    For 22-250 ar10 if you get Alex pro firearms 22-250 mag it functions flawlessly. It’s stupid expensive but I put a 250 together myself and ended up having to run it.

    First of all I love this channel and the content. I do a lot of hog hunting in SW Georgia and do most of it with the AR platform simply because it’s the fastest lead injection tool for what I do. I’ve used basically every cartridge that fits the AR15 platform and for what I do the 6.5 Grendel running the 115gr Barnes ttsx is just a hammer. I have fewer hogs run off than anything else I’ve personally used and I have tried the 6mm ARC in 18” barrel and it just wasn’t as effective. If I’m hunting coyotes I run a Remington 700 youth model in 243 and I run the 87 gr bergers and have killed dogs out to 400. I do run them on the hotter side but it’s a screaming laser beam and the coyotes don’t run they just DRT. Thanks again for all the content

    I agree on the 223 comment of behind the shoulder, they’ll run. And yes, here on the east, I need them to drop. I’ve lost plenty of coyotes that had great hits but ran into the woods and couldn’t be recovered because it’s so thick. I’ve tried 88gr in my bolt 223 which worked great. 90gr in my 6.5CM also did great. But my go to is a 6ARC. 87gr VMAX goes over 2900fps with 18” PROOF and it crumbles them. Ultimately find what works for your application. Thanks for sharing. I think a lot of guys make recommendations based off what they think should work rather than seeing results in the field.

      I agree. And I had some slight issues with resizing the Grendel brass. I would recommend buying a case of factory ammo. ELDX 103s can be found for $30 a box. Then save all your brass to reload. It’s been working for me. Look up the BrassGoat for saving brass while out hunting with AR. I have never had a feeding issue from using this device. Hope this helps.

    My problem with all these “new” fangled cartridges are, for varmint guns; they’re slow. In my opinion there is no replacement for velocity within 400 yards. For just plain fun, and getting them job done. That 224 Valkyrie was a good idea, but it’s slowwww

    • @weldmonger1560
      @weldmonger1560 10 месяцев назад

      Try the 22 nosler! Swapped from a 223 and wow what a difference it's made. Highly accurate and absolutely not one runner since I swapped. Ammo is scarce and expensive tho! What ammo isn't these days! Lol but ur right they are too slow especially if ur trying to hit a running coyote at 200 yards. At that point ur scope won't keep up with the leads you need to use at that range

    😮They never will kill the 22-250 and 243 at least for a long long time. I can push the 75gr bthp match from hornady in 22-250 to 3300 to 3350 fps and that is plenty good for whitetails and coyotes and also hogs. It is a hot load but it works great in my bergara 1in9 twist 22in barrel though.

    Want to predator hunt grab a 12 gauge with a factory full choke add a red dot and pattern it with #4 buck. A red dot on top will help you be precise! Higher the pellet count the better. Now grab a .223 in a 50 gr projectile(hollow pt) . 3x9 scope.

    Good stuff Wade. On the 22-250 AR Platform, Specialized Dynamics (SD) has had great success with their builds. Only issue is they will tell you to not load more then 7 rds in a 10 rd magazine. Any more and it cause the magazine to bulge causing feeding issues.

At that actual time I thought it was over priced, maybe goofy looking, and didn’t trust a Remington AR or at least thought there was a lot better options.
