- *We need guns. Lots of guns*
My unboxing and review of the newly released Space Marine Sternguard Veteran Squad box set by Games Workshop.
It contains all you need to build 5 plastic miniatures in various poses and includes options to equip them with a multitude of weapon loadouts. These include 8 assault weapons; 2x Plasma guns, 2x Melta-guns, 2x Flamers, 2x Grav-guns, 6x combi-bolters, a heavy flamer, a heavy bolter, 2x storm bolters and 6x boltguns. It also includes various sergeant weapon options.
I thoroughly recommend buying a Tactical Squad box set with this purchase to use up the additional weapons and make an extra 10 Sternguard Veterans. I will be uploading a video next week to highlight what you can build using the spare parts from this box set.
Price £30

Expensive but definitely one of the best kits I've ever bought. The detail, the options and the look of the assembled models are all fantastic
Thanks very much for this review. Best on YT.
Well, the models look good, but I wonder how useful they are. Back in the day, a friend of mine refused to have any of those sort of troops. So no Veterens, and no Terminators - "Template Magnets" he called them, lol. He may have been right tbh, he always did well just using Tactical and Assault marines, sometimes with a Landraider / Predator as heavy support.
Really useful video, great info and like you're presenting style as well.. Thumbs up!
Thinking of using this boxed set for honour guard.
can you please answer me a question, its about the main armament of the sternguard, why is the main reson for equip on them combi weapons instead of the bolter with the special ammo?, the special ammunition is not good?
+Ricardo Ortega Thanks for the question. The special ammunition is good but it cant take out tanks, monstrous creatures or heavily armoured units. With a combi-melta, comb-grav etc you're getting the best of both worlds. You drop in, use the one shot from their melta, grav or plasma and then next turn use the special ammunition. You don't have to use the one shot as soon as you drop but it is the most effective way to use them imo. They should be aimed at high value targets.
ty for your answer my friend
It's 2021 now... Legs is still a dream
The amount of variety and options lost on the new kit is staggering.
In the name of efficiency, GW removed most of the weapons and unique parts from these kits
People want larger space marines. This is the trade off.
Of course they're Iron Hands.
just got this one, tks for the review!
also howcomes there's a guy with a mohikan on the front but none in the box?!?!!?
+Harry Buckle There is. Check out 07:46 on the top of the screen (part no.66). The mohican is a separate piece that can be glued onto most helmets. You're welcome?!?!!? ;)
Oh thanks I had trouble finding it
RIP
Damn you autocorrect
MORE GUN, MORE SPACE MARINE, MORE...HEAVY WEA...PON?
are these elite choices? im new to the game.
+Harry Buckle They are. One of the best choices too due to their success on an Alpha strike. You should deep strike them in next to a high value target and use their special rounds or combo-weapons to destroy said target.
The are amazing for spare guns but if u want clse combat go for vangaurd vetrans (probabley spelt vangaurd wrong).
Let me help you: They're amazing for spare guns but if you want close combat go for Vanguard veterans (probably spelt Vanguard wrong).
Don't worry I'm no spelling Nazi and I understood what you meant. The more you read the more your spelling and sentence structure should improve.
Great kit have 2 boxes ordered thanks man 👌
Hey, I'm buying a dark angels chapter upgrade kit wit this ( I know there are no stern guard in the DA codex but I'm playing a succesor so uthink it's allowed) but I am also thinking about buying a tax squad after that do you think it's a good idea?
Sounds like a great idea. Successor chapters are allowed of course, that's the beauty of collecting Space Marines.
***** YAY
You sound like Ricky Gervais at some points in the vid.
I wish, what a legend!
dear Sup3rSaiy3n, have you or are you ever going to show us your chapter colour scheme?
+Ahed 'Eojusee It's sort of in my collection video ruclips.net/video/cxN99fuhRu0/видео.html Black with yellow shoulder pad trim. Gold for Super Special units (Titans).
+Gunny 501 Nice one. Thanks for your kind words. May the Emperor be with you also.
+Gunny 501 Unfortunately you will find many examples within the hobby where fluff does not match rules. A squad of BS5 space marines with combo melta's may be a little OP. However look to your doctrines, chapter tactics and psychic powers to buff your units.
Just earned a sub :)
Yeah I need to pay $70 :(
Lord Nublet it's only 40 euro
RIP
?
how much is 40 euro converted to AUD
idk let me check
Actually, the black marines are from the Raven Guard chapter.
*facepalm* no they are not
Lord Nublet Yes, I realize that now. Do you see how old this comment is?
uggh I really don't want to be rude but please stop saying akwilla it's pronounced akeela, Aquila is latin for eagle
Luke Feeney but you still get a thumbs up and a sub
Matey I live in Ireland, I've only ever been to america once when I was 10
Luke Feeney That's not the point. There's no correct way of saying anything because different countries have different accents, dialects, and of course languages.
In America we pronounce it ' akwilla' aswell.
