My unboxing and review of the newly released Space Marine Tactical Squad box set by Games Workshop.
It contains all you need to build 10 plastic miniatures in various poses and includes options to equip them in a multitude of weapon loadouts. These include assault weapons; Plasma gun, melta-gun, flamer, grav-gun and a combi-bolter. It includes a missile launcher and various sergeant weapon options.
Price £25

totally not 9 years late but goddammit your vids never disappoint me, they're always there when I need to check on a kit I'm interested in lol
I missed this era of the hobby. Fun to to catch up in this way.
Same here
I bought this as my first set
I may be about to as well lol
Me too !
Great new sculpts. I like the fact the bolters now have barrel holes! Great review! And thanks for showing us the finished miniatures. More of these please!
Bought this yesterday as my first set. I'm gonna start making them right now.
+SpaceCHKN Nice one. Good luck.
3:21 I always thought they where nun chucks 😂.
Same😂, I made all of my tactical marines look different, everyone specializing in a different area. I made a devestations specialist with an optic on the bolter, a fat grenade on his hip... I also made a close combat specialist, looks like a knight with a power sword and the scrolls on the hip. I thought they were nun chucks and gave them to him scince he is the close combat guy😂
I dig this set. I don't play but i like the idea of painting. Working on a Tyranid set from like 12 years ago and i may grab this set for afterwards.
Purring cats are very soothing and very much welcome in future videos!
hey, nice unboxing. i am pleased to see that it looks like all the weapon/hand options will be easy to magnetize. im in the process of magnetizing all the options in the devastator squad kit, and will be going nuts with a tac squad to. making it possible to field 2 dev squads or 1 tac squad with only 10 sets of legs and torsos and any weapon load outs available in the kit!
Cool and super clean! I love your work :D
very impressive to, great squad box
Good vid but at 15:14, you aren't really correct. When I reload, that is usually how I have my hands. All he has to do is angle his left arm and hand slightly and he would be reloading the only way I know of reloading comfortably. If it were reversed, he would have to do some very awkward movement with his hand to put the magazine in (at least IMO).
If you were to open your hand when reloading a magazine, your fingers would be pointing towards the front of the weapon. If the Marine got into the proper reloading position with his arm and hand (which would be very easy), he would easily be able to reload because his magazine is facing the right way. I don't know of anyone, and I haven't seen anyone, ever reload a magazine with their fingers pointing towards the end of a weapon.
This is part of the idea of curved magazines. Having fingers on the concave part of a curved magazine is much more comfortable than straight magazines, or having fingers on the convex part.
You can see it is the correct way to hold the magazine here, just need to watch carefully: ruclips.net/video/e8FaZ7IpeXI/видео.htmlm8s
I was hoping the half-bionic head would return.
The launcher backpack debuted with the Devastator box, btw.
Planning on getting one for myself
Just ordered this set on amazon a few days ago, it'll be my first Warhammer kit ever, wish me luck.
How did you do?
@@lismandman5350 It went really well!
ditto! got the box through today, so i will be making a start on it soon!
Dude I miss those transfers
I like Space marines
Hey just curious if you could do a review of chaos space marine squad as a contrast if not that's understandable.
Do they allow marines with combat knives in tournaments? I like the old combat knives and chainsaw bayonets on the bolt guns, but I want all my marines to use the weapons they are carrying on the model, and the only codex close combat weapons for marines seems to be the bolt pistol.
Space Marines: “Every day is leg day”
I bought one of these a month ago, still haven't opened it. Planning to do so and paint them. Im wondering whether to use green stuff to increase thier height. I like the firstborn more than the primaris but i wish the height was the same as primaris
good to see a math's cat cameo papa bless !
Put his reloading hand closer to his leg as if he is taking the mag from a pouch
11:30 after this it's sounds like popcorn in the back
Nah it was the cat. The clue is the jingle of the bell. Not sure what happened straight after that tho.
Nice vid. Thanks for the review, I liked and subbed(:
Does this set come with a lascanon?
It's 2020, and after seeing the other Tactical unboxing I can definitely say that this newer kit is much better options wise and proportions wise. Even thou Replace Marines look much better at least scale wise, this humble kit offers more and it isn't too far behind like CSM used to be.
Are these the same size as primaris? I know they are different models but solely based on height and base size?
@@anthonyscavelli2507 No, not at all.
@@balkenkreuz2063 so they are mad short and stubby huh? That’s unfortunate :/
Yes, they are great sculpts, but I'm pretty sure he had to drill out the bolter barrel holes himself.
This looks good I may have more advanced troops now
Hey me too i like this set
Cringe
Can I use this set for Kill Team?
I know I am late to the video, those little bullets are Marksman's Honour, and the sun is an Iron Halo. I imagine you already knew that, and were having a laugh. :)
8 years later....
A Beaky Marine ! They had a proper Beaky Marine on the box ! And you didn't make him :( Oh well. Those spare heads make nice prezzies for Ork players to stick on Boss Poles. And I see you showed your secret weapon for when things go wrong - An "Oh dear, look what it did" class titan from Legio Caticus (4 power claws and plasma whip tail). just leave the gaming room door open....... No-one will ever remember where all their troops were, so game abandoned, and no embaressment for a loose, lol.
do they come with the rules on the back of the instructions?
+Empire Kid Not that I'm aware of. I think the only change to the box from last year is the new bases. I haven't bought a separate pack since 2013 so I'm not 100% on this.
The pouches is so ill fit anyway, didn't use any. looked so wonky to have so large pouches
I want it
so are these models come with the bases?
The modles come with the bases
@@joshnelson1515the moodles coome with the bases
How do you know what values the have?
I'm new
Welcome to the hobby! Their rules are in a book called a codex.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n ah, okay thanks
No heavy bolter?
Never has been one. Nor a Lascannon, Plasma cannon or Multi-melta. Tactical squads mostly are packaged with a missile launcher.
Do you have to have the banner?
+antony graham As in use the banner on the sergeant? No, purely optional. You can have a sergeant or veteran sergeant without a banner if you wish.
+Sup3rSaiy3n Cool thanks for replying!
$75 AUD in Australia...
10 man squad of primaris marines over $100 AUD, would rather take this kit tbh
needs more dakka weapons
+Gunny 501 Agree. Boltguns are pretty dakka. I admit another sprue with some heavy weapons would be nice but could bump the price to £30. Buying this set and the devastators seems sensible though.
Its a Wednesday
