I also made the transition from rotaries to coils months ago and now I can’t put them down, nothing against rotaries but coils make me feel like I am actually tattooing instead of tracing an image with a marker
I have you I was about 15 and got away from tattooing for a while maybe because of my addiction but now that I’ve started back a few years ago being sober I start using the pin style machines which are extremely slow, but they are less finicky as coils, less maintenance, but I’m starting to get back to my coil machines also and bought RCA adapter to hook up my battery supply so I don’t have cords. It’s not for everyone, but just a thought. I like it pretty well.
Love coil machines but I like my wireless machines so I'm ussing the black tortoise by inkclaw that is 4.0 mm stroke for lining but i still have my coil machine that is set up for lining that are using 18g front and back springs that are 10 wrap coils.
@emokingpin well with the inkclaw I get a little of it since it has springs on the amature bar just has the rotary motor moving the bar. It's like the dan kubin and artist that uses the kubin say it's very simular to coil machines. To me its similar also because I do feel a bit of a give because of the springs but it's not 100% like a coil. Like you can see in my recent live me using it in my fake skin design of a skull with hood. I will agree nothing is going to be like a coil machine but I can say that with coil I dint get blow outs like rotaries but that was on myself using a pen machine for the first time and should have used it on fake skin to get use to the machine. I know it's all about preference but that's why I went with the black tortoise mark2 because of the wireless capability but having the springs and amateur bar like a coil machine.
Had plenty work horse machines over the years and all I can say is they are second only to Micky Sharpz machines at a quarter of the price!! I put it down to American Vs British engineering and the only reason I can think about for the extra cost is the Americans must be charging for the trash they talk!!

Quick question I got a dragon fly clone is it rotary or coil and how much is the difference? Personally I love it
GJ homie love your attitude and approach to tattooing
RL or RS? I am trying to use a RL for bold lines…
Scott Sterling makes GREAT coil machines!! Check out some of his shaders, you’ll love em.
Looks dope 🎉

What do you think about not having any bog with the rotary?

Totally! I'll have to try one out to compare and contrast. Thanks for the feedback!
@@emokingpin with tax cost about 490 give or take before tax was 468 for full kit and took about a week or so to get to my house
You’re going backwards bro
😂😂😂😂
If using pens/rotarys is forward then backwards is the right way 🎉
Oh boo
Totally wrong. If you are tattoing traditional or want to go for fat bold Lines in one Single pass - thats the best way. Bold will hold my friend 🤓
