@SN95Power definitely appreciated brother I'm very happy with my termi as a matter of fact coming home tonight from my family's house a cammed ctsv pulled along side me on the highway and asked to be walked lol 😆 and I gladly obliged 3rd gear 50mph ... 🐍 not bad for a pullied un ported 20+year old car wouldn't trade my sn95 for the world brother...
I think the reason people have an issue with the Terminator is the price they are going for. In Canada they can go from 35k-50k which is nuts for a 20 year old car that cost less than that when it was new . I’ve seen rebuild title Terminators going for 28k
I own an 11k mile 10th anniversary cobra coupe. I’ve always wanted one. Let me just say, don’t meet your hero’s. I own other special mustangs as well (2013 GT 500, 2013 boss 302, 93 cobra) and Indaily a 2015 PP/Prem GT. The 03 cobra feels rickety and cheap compared to the s197 platform and it feels ancient compared to an s550.
Want 800 wheel? Whipple, Return Style Fuel System, SCT MAF, Injectors, Clutch, Bigger Alternator, E85 will get you there. However, you better address that rear end before it goes kaboom.
Those groups are so dang toxic. I'm impressed that Ford decided to make something as potent as the Terminator that still turns heads and moves fast 20 years later. It's not like if you bought a vette or a Lambo decades ago and today a Corolla is faster... a Corolla's probably never gonna be faster than a Terminator.
I have the white delrin bushings, with maximum motorsports coilovers, and g force half shafts , and a in trunk stabilizer bar. She squats and goes with tire on.
Would love to have a 03-04 Cobra, it's like you said it's a bucket list car, that being said they are way out of my price range, that is why I have a 04 GT. No they are not overrated just overpriced, they changed how bowties owners hate the all mustangs.
I had a 04 fire red. Got it with 89,000 miles on it mostly stock just intake, pulley , and exhaust made 456/445 on dyno. By the time I got rid of the vehicle, it had 135,000 miles completely stock motor. Never took a valve covers off making 706/664 with a 2.3 vmp tvs, 3lb lower I forgot the size of the upper pulley , return fuel system and id1000s from lethal performance on E85 , exhaust, intake, vmp throttle body inlet and that’s about it back in 2016. The car took the power like a champ never had an issue besides the stock alternator, but that’s another story lol I vouch for the terminator all day
Two things. The groups are ridiculous. You are right that more than half of the people are not helpful. But that's the internet.. Second. I had a 2002 roush and it was awesome. Side exhaust sounded great, fun car. I recently got an 03 cobra vert for a great price. South fl everything is expensive. The cobra is a completely different car. It literally makes me laugh when the boost comes in. Sounds awesome with the top down. I got one because I drooled over every magazine when they came out. I don't like the term cobro or termi haha if someone needs help, I'm more than happy to do so. When I post. I'm under the car, lost, hot and aggravating. I just want help and not from 20 year old forums haha it's sad when people answer with "hit it with your purse" or "tell me you're poor without..." 2.9 whipple, fore fuel system + ID1050x and I’m at 694rwhp. Stock block, never opened. Probably should’ve been about 750rwhp but the tuner I used laid off the timing
Not overrated just a factory supercharged car worth collecting. You have to remember the Mustang was slacking in HP in comparison to the non-supercharged challengers and they only made these 2 years. What gets me is when people collect them and rag them out like its 2003 racing 2020's supercharged/turbo'd cars. ijs. Collect em.

Car has fully built rear (FTBR 5001 kit, trutrac) and I'm about 30k into it. Whipple 2.3 going on in fall so after tune will put me at about 35k. I'll be at 640/600 whp/tq on 93 pump (over 700 on race gas...no e85 here). Overrated??? I don't think so. Cheap??? Absolutely not. Great video regardless. Stay up homie

I want to pray mine more than get a bigger blower These cars are 20 years
@@SN95Power I wanted another 93 cobra , gt500 0r c5 all out of my budget . I did spend 4k going across the country to get mine so mine cost me 27k . I just love the 03-04 cobra and it is great platform to make 800-1k. Hp I may never get above 600 🤣🤣
Obviously, they are getting expensive. They were cheap once, and now they're coming very close to GT500s. But, the terminator beat everything on the market in the day. It deserves the credit. The first real fbo'd 1000hp motor. LS6s had NOTHING on em. Supra who? Firebird- what now? Terminator ate it up on the street. And, it was a good track weapon too.
@@SN95Power Yeah. Ironically, I'd say this thing jumpstarted the hp war. A lot of people say its the GT500 gen3, but I dont think the youngings were there when these cars pulled up at the car meets. All eyes on SVT. This thing would pull up next to a C5 Z06 and it would win the crowd.
I don't think the 03-04 Cobra is overrated, it's a car that changed the game and it put the other manufacturers on notice. It made them get back to the R&D department and step their game up.
03/04 cobra was easily the best bang for you buck and the most superior mustang made until the Boss S197 and S550 came out. I still like 2v, pushrod, GT500, and gen1 coyotes mustangs but 03/04 cobra is imo the best out of all of them.
Cobras are bad ass cars old school hellcat as a companion so yes it’s more expensive than an 03-04 gt or mach1 but the mach1 looks better and has more heritage and the gt is a great car also just not fast like a cobra but the truth is buy and personalize your mustang and enjoy it that’s what it’s all about.
Overrated... No. Overpriced... Maybe. If you chasing hp, a gen 2 coyote with a blower can be bought cheaper and have the same hp limits. My opinion is most people buying a terminator today are not buying it to chase numbers.
@@SN95Powerthe engine can take alot of power. The Trans needs a 26 spline input and a good clutch and the irs needs attention for big power but the engine can take alot. 700-800 easy and can be pushed to 1000 on turbo setups like gen 2 and 3 coyotes...the rarity of them and now the age of them is driving up cost losing the bang for buck factor they once had. They don't reign supreme there anymore like they used to. Now there are other cars with better bang for the buck performance capabilities wise but that doesn't mean they're overrated its just how it worked out with a limited production car that isn't getting any younger.
I agree with you. They can compete with modern cars on stock driveline but the age and rarity drives up price so bang for buck is no longer in the terminators corner. In their day there was no better bang for the buck from the time they were new all the way till prices went nuts during covid. These cars rose and they aren't going back down. They're too old and too rare...there is a reason they hold such strong value though.
People that don’t have em usually want to say this, hale no they are not over rated they paved the way and are still relevant and whippin azz still, not hype
Terminator’s are my dream cars because of there “underdog” story making 400hp outta factory is just the perk. These cars on a factory engine can make 600+ hp with the ported eaton combos which is just so cool in my opinion especially when you put into perspective its from 03-04 great video keep’em coming
Great and excellent unbiased and factual video. I love Cobras, SVT or Shelby and at the end of the day paying a premium price for these original cars is your choice, but you can definitely build a GT of the same era SN95 for far less expense than buying an SVT "Terminator" Cobra today. But it will never be a Cobra. Like anything in life, for the right deal I'll buy a 03-04 SVT Cobra, but not looking to over pay for them at all. Overrated?? Not at all, they are beautiful and powerful street beasts of their era and the best and last of the SVT Cobras.
E55AMG is cool to do burnouts and maybe some highway pulls but it’s not a platform that’s good for racing at all. Stock motor/blower cobras can run 9s for pennies on the dollar compared to the Benz.
Think about it, only 2 years and didn’t make a lot of them. They are far from underrated. Problem here is that many of them been wrecked and some exported. To us the Terminator is our Godzilla to Japan.
Compared to the coyote and the cars being put out by dodge.. I think it is overrated. I am actually looking to buy a terminator soon but I will not pay 30-40k. Ive seen some as low as 17k still. I will pay the least amount because its an old ass car now. you have to expect that something is wrong or will go wrong. I would rather pay the least amount and use the rest of the money to build it my way.
The only thing that makes them really worth it in my humble opinion is the forged bottom end from factory other than that its just a new edge with Mark viii motor and irs diff 😂. I more in to mn12 Thunderbirds with similar irs diffs
@@SN95Power true that, enough motor from factory to remove the factory supercharger, slap on a turbo and have a 700hp beast, turnt up or combined with bolt-ons they can easily achieve 1xxxhp numbers. They were the hellcats of their day, and took the horsepower war to chevy's and dodge's doorstep
I love my Terminator. It's really apples to oranges to any other Mustang or car in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't buy one if all I was concerned about was hp per dollar. There are definitely better options if you want all out, straight line performance. Mine is sitting at 840 hp at the wheels. 3.0 whipple, Lethal fuel system, 25 psi on E85. Stock crank and rods in a Teksid block with 10:1 Wiseco pistons.
15 years ago it was the car too have and people were racing them more than they are now. the high price and collectable nature most people dont wanna destroy them. Also the cheap turbo kits were not readily available back then like they are now. think about it most Z06 vettes or Zr1s are on collector duty and lower price models become more mod cars than the high end units. kinda like cobras and 2 valves.
If anything, based upon the video content that it CURRENTLY gets, it’s extremely underrated. More and more people want a modern luxury car experience that doesn’t require a lot of effort to drive. It’s no more overrated than a 1968 GT500.
On brand title for someone with an SN95 😂. The simple fact is the 03/04 Cobra is the rarer and better built car. I own one and it’s an incredible car minus interior quality which is terrible just like in all Domestic cars of the time. The 96-99 and 2001 Cobra are ok cars at best.
Overrated my ass! Stock engine to stock engine it will still out boost the Hellcat! And no the hellcat didn’t start this boost dynasty the Terminator did! And the Shelby of 07-14 were before the Hellcat also so all dodge did was TRY TO CATCHUP !!!
Its the opppsite if anything its underrated. All the coyote guys look at it as "inferior" when the terminator has better rods than even the gen 2 and 3 coyotes do. The coyotes are sintered forged which isnt the same as forged. Terminators can hold as much as gen 3 coyotes at least if not more the stock bottom end record is like 1400 wheel or something insane like that ive seen guys racing them at the drag strip over 1100 rwhp w turbo setups before the gen 1 coyote even came out. Most people outside of the terminator fanboys dont give them nearly the credit they deserve. They started the modern hp wars and made it possible for cars like the hellcat, zr1, zl1, ctsv, etc to exist later on to today. Even the gt500 was the succesor of it. Basically the newer terminator. Gt500 also paved the way for all those cars. 07 gt500 owner chiming in.

Overrated? IMO, no. Not now and definitely not when they came out. They are still relevant muscle cars…can make 800 + hp fairly easily with the stock motor and stock transmission , which even after all these years , in 2024 , is impressive. But I think a lot of new guys wanting to get into Cobras quickly realize they can go faster , easier with an A10 Coyote. which leads to this question a lot.
Terminators ARE overrated! The last car show I went to, I am absolutely NOT exaggerating, there were over 60 Terminators! How freaking special is that? Had you shown up in your round body, I swear people would have been flocking to YOUR car instead!
Who spends $40k on a 20yo ford? There’s just something’s not right about that. Would you spend $40k on a 10yo ford? I mean, it’s not like it’s a Ford GT. It’s a mustang. And I think that’s the problem with some people. At the end of the day it’s just a mustang. At the end of the day, it’s just an old car that NEEDS to be driven.
Very special car especially for the time and still can be a competitor today. I had one for a few years along with a couple gt's. They just don't compare to the feel of a real terminator. Steering feel, handling, and of course the power it makes. Lets not forget seats etc. Really make it feel special. To me it was the last of the lightweight fox chassis base cars and with so much power it was just insane to drive. The later gt500s were for sure amazing by far but much heavier so the weight difference was a big bummer for me. I like the more beer can feel of the new edge better myself 😂
@@SN95Power very similar feel with the power delivery but so different feeling due to the platform. Hope you can get experience one to compare. Especially since you are a sn owner I think you would be surprised at the differences.

COBRO here, my advice is buy a good driver unless you're willing to pay the premium for low miles. Until you have driven one you truly do not know how special they are
I’m going to reach out to a couple of people and see if I can do a review on one
@@SN95Power Hopefully it's one that's modded. I have just a little whipple 2.3, it's making 650/600
Definitely checking this one out I'm here brother.. 🐍
You’re a subject matter expert in this. Went from a Mach1 to a Terminator
Not overrated!!
I use to love C4 corvettes. Still like the cockpit design of interior.
712 hp here with a Gen 5 3.0 whipple , fore fuel system and exaust on 93 octane with boostane
That’s gotta be a blast
Any suspension work? My vert gets some decent wheel hop at 450.
I have the white delrin bushings, with maximum motorsports coilovers, and g force half shafts , and a in trunk stabilizer bar. She squats and goes with tire on.
Fit to Finish the Terminator is the greatest mustang ever.
Can't knock that
Not overrated at all, one of the best Mustangs ever made, ever.
Would love to have a 03-04 Cobra, it's like you said it's a bucket list car, that being said they are way out of my
price range, that is why I have a 04 GT. No they are not overrated just overpriced, they changed how bowties
owners hate the all mustangs.
I think 20’s are fair. 30’s and 40’s is too much for me
Not over priced tbh they are worth it
I had a 04 fire red.
The car took the power like a champ never had an issue besides the stock alternator, but that’s another story lol I vouch for the terminator all day
One of the greatest motors Ford build. Why did you choose VMP over Whipple
I just want help and not from 20 year old forums haha it's sad when people answer with "hit it with your purse" or "tell me you're poor without..."
Anyway, drive a terminator man and you won't care what people think 😂
@@R0ckGT390 Hit it with your purse is a new one😂. I believe in enjoying what you have. It's amazing that the Cobra is still a contender in this modern HP war. Congratulations to you on your purchasing.
@SN95Power someone asked about removing the ball joints, which uou know is tough. Someone said hit it with your purse 😅 ridiculous!
And thank you!!! It's a modest cruiser, 444 to the wheels. Not fast but makes all the right noises!
2.9 whipple, fore fuel system + ID1050x and I’m at 694rwhp.
What gets me is when people collect them and rag them out like its 2003 racing 2020's supercharged/turbo'd cars. ijs. Collect em.
I own an 03 cobra vert. Bought with 66k for 18k in 2020. I'm currently at 505/542 with a 2.76 pulley, fore level 1, 60s, intake, AF TB, full bassani exhaust, stifflers fit, etc...
Are you on any of the FB groups
@SN95Power. Nope. I check in on SVTP forums but that's it. Not really into social media thing. Quick edit... if you want to check the car out let me know and I'll email you some pictures.
no but theres saleen n roush w a axle
I paid 23k 6 years ago for mine 42k mile car . It has 78k now .
Ported Eaton ,kenne bell bell or whipple , the older blowers and nitrous will get you real close if not more that 800 hp
Me … I’m poor a/f my dream set up would be nitrous and a kb 2.6 .
I want to pray mine more than get a bigger blower
These cars are 20 years
You already ahead of the game. If prices keep going up, I doubt I'll have one. I really love them but 30k is too much imo.
Great multi purpose car
@@SN95Power Yeah. Ironically, I'd say this thing jumpstarted the hp war. A lot of people say its the GT500 gen3, but I dont think the youngings were there when these cars pulled up at the car meets. All eyes on SVT. This thing would pull up next to a C5 Z06 and it would win the crowd.
I don't think the 03-04 Cobra is overrated, it's a car that changed the game and it put the other manufacturers on notice. It made them get back to the R&D department and step their game up.
Definitely not over rated. Still a street menace till this day.
03/04 cobra was easily the best bang for you buck and the most superior mustang made until the Boss S197 and S550 came out. I still like 2v, pushrod, GT500, and gen1 coyotes mustangs but 03/04 cobra is imo the best out of all of them.
They were 18" CCW rims. I think he's gone to a different setup now.
I honestly think some people clout chase when buying a Terminator over the capabilities of the car
@@SN95PowerI WILL ALSO SAY ASIDE FROM MY 93 COBRA LOL THE 0304 COBRAS ARE GOING TOO BE BIG BUCKS IN THE FUTURE AND I WILL PUT MY LIFE ON THAT.
@@anthonylaudano9435 No doubt
People that don’t have em usually want to say this, hale no they are not over rated they paved the way and are still relevant and whippin azz still, not hype
Terminator’s are my dream cars because of there “underdog” story making 400hp outta factory is just the perk. These cars on a factory engine can make 600+ hp with the ported eaton combos which is just so cool in my opinion especially when you put into perspective its from 03-04 great video keep’em coming
Far from overrated. If anything it’s one of the greats. It was the first production mustang to come from the factory with a supercharger.
It set the trend
I love all mustangs, I would own a 03-04 if given the opportunity!! I own an S197 Shelby!! That’s always gonna be a bucket list car!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
You already own one supercharged Cobra, grab another one.
@@SN95Power my wife ( Carla) is going to divorce me,, she’s already telling me I love that car more than her!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No can do💀
Great and excellent unbiased and factual video.
No its a legendary mustang but people think its the only good new edge and its very annoying
No, supercharged V8 in the 2000's the only car you could not beat was a Mercedes-Benz E series V8 and I am not a mustang/Ford fan
Didn't know that. Thanks for dropping some knowledge
E55AMG is cool to do burnouts and maybe some highway pulls but it’s not a platform that’s good for racing at all. Stock motor/blower cobras can run 9s for pennies on the dollar compared to the Benz.
Underrated by quiet a bit.
Have had my 03 for 10 years making 500hp it is my every day car. The only thing to go wrong with it in that time is the fuel pressure sensor.
These mod motors are so reliable
Think about it, only 2 years and didn’t make a lot of them. They are far from underrated. Problem here is that many of them been wrecked and some exported. To us the Terminator is our Godzilla to Japan.
It’s a bucket list car for me.
Yeah not overrated. First mustang ever supercharged. Its our generation elenor. The Terminator.
30-40k is too much imo
The only thing that makes them really worth it in my humble opinion is the forged bottom end from factory other than that its just a new edge with Mark viii motor and irs diff 😂. I more in to mn12 Thunderbirds with similar irs diffs
Can’t deny how overbuilt that motor was.
Hey now, don't be hatin' on my SN95 and New Edge group!! Or my Terminators... lol
Best form of entertainment you can find😂
paid 15k for my cobra in 2012. 4k in used blower and parts it runs 10s.
Nah bruh. Still killing in the streets.
Everytime you see a video on a 2003 Mach 1 somebody has to bring up the fact that the Terminator was better. So, yeh it's definitely overrated.
@@chevyracing1080 We both have Sn95 Mustangs sir🤷♂️
Overrated my ass! Stock engine to stock engine it will still out boost the Hellcat! And no the hellcat didn’t start this boost dynasty the Terminator did! And the Shelby of 07-14 were before the Hellcat also so all dodge did was TRY TO CATCHUP !!!
Every generation Mustang after the SN95 had a supercharged model. They set the trend
Every generation Mustang after the Termination had a supercharger option. You’re absolutely correct. Even made the other guys change their formula

F bodies were running way fast than 13.9
I terminators for running faster than that
Overrated?
I definitely don’t think they are overrated but like you said, you can coyote build if all you want is performance.
Terminators ARE overrated! The last car show I went to, I am absolutely NOT exaggerating, there were over 60 Terminators! How freaking special is that? Had you shown up in your round body, I swear people would have been flocking to YOUR car instead!
That’s just how popular those Terminators are.
I went to Fabulous Fords in California and it was the most Terminators I ever see in one spot.
Just the title of this video is extremely disrespectful

Who spends $40k on a 20yo ford? There’s just something’s not right about that. Would you spend $40k on a 10yo ford? I mean, it’s not like it’s a Ford GT. It’s a mustang. And I think that’s the problem with some people. At the end of the day it’s just a mustang. At the end of the day, it’s just an old car that NEEDS to be driven.
That’s the only problem I have with some Cobra owners. They refuse to think their Cobra isn’t a mustang 😄
I’ve driven a GT500 but never a Terminator.
@@SN95Power very similar feel with the power delivery but so different feeling due to the platform. Hope you can get experience one to compare. Especially since you are a sn owner I think you would be surprised at the differences.
The title of this video, ALONE, is the reason not to watch it!!!!!
LMFAOOOO, no. 03/04 Cobra is legendary to this day.
