How to Use the Official Sony DUALSHOCK 4 USB wireless adapter for PC
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 авг 2021
- A brief tutorial showing how to use the Official Sony Dualshock 4 (PS4 Controller) USB Wireless adapter. Which allows you to connect your PS4 Controller to PC/Mac more reliably than standard Bluetooth. It also allows you to wirelessly use the Speaker & Microphone plug on the controller without having to use a cable.
Ill note that this still requires either a PS4 Controller Compatible Game, or additional Drivers in order for it to work on your computer. This device is CONNECTION ONLY. NO DRIVER IS INCLUDED.
This Adapter is also pretty expensive depending on where you buy it. With the price changing frequently.

Thanks ! I can't connect them for a month because I don't find any tutorials on internet ! But finaly I found you !!
I got a couple of these when bestbuy had the controller bundle on sale a few years ago but I never saw the point of using them because I understood they were only for PC PSnow but as you know the service is being cancelled and replaced, I’m gonna try them and see how they work. Good info. Thanks for sharing!
Can I use any other USB bluetooth adapter for this controller? And If so would I be able to use motion controls
You don't need to reset your controller with the pin on the back. It's enough to have it off and hold down Share and PS button at the same time to start your Dualshock 4 in pairing mode. It will pair to BT as well as to the official dongle no problems.
I have one of these and it worked perfectly for years. Recently it stopped working. I've checked the drivers and tried about everything I can think of. I just can't get it to work anymore. Any ideas?
Does HidHide and DS4Windows interfere with BT finding the controller? I have a wireless controller constantly connected to my computer but nothing actually is and it won't let me remove that device.
hey man im trying to make a wired hori controller wireless, but to use with my ps4, do u know if they sell like a 2 piece bluetooth adapter that i can use to make this work?
Thank you!
just recently got one from japan and everytime i try to pair my controller the adaptor simply stops making light and when the controller stops trying to pair the adaptor comes back flashing blue slowly
And if I have two controls, does it work the same way?
ok so haw many controller ps4 to use 2 or 4
Does it work with battlenet like cod?
Hi man, really need your help please, Im worried, can I plug ds4 to this adapter and get sound from 3,5 jack from gamepad?
Yes you can
Great Review bud
also can u tell
That Pulse 3D Sony Headset
also comes with USB
does that usb suppports ps4 controller working with audio and mic on pc as well?
I wouldn't rely on any audio going through the controller when using it on PC
does this work with dual sense?
Does this work on the ps4 itself? Running my system 60ft away from were I game. Currently using a 60ft usb extension for my controller communications. Would be cool if I could put one of these on the end and of the extension to have my controller wireless
This is just a Bluetooth receiver for the pc. Its got the same basic range as whats already in your PS4. Its also become ridiculously expensive.
I have problem. ds4windows cant find my ds4 controller when I use ds4 usb wireless adaptor. i have windows 10 and everything seems to be normal but whatever I do I cant connect to ds4 windows with this dongle. can you please help me
Not sure. Mine just showed up and worked. Id just do the standard troubleshooting Checklist.
1. Make sure your DS4 is the latest and up to date.
2. Maybe try downloading a fresh copy of DS4 Windows. Unzip it and install it in a new location on your computer. Tell it to save things in the folder alongside the program NOT the appdata folder.
3. Run DS4 as Admin.
4. Make sure you dont have any other program like DS4 Windows open and acting as a Keybinding tool. They can interfere with each other and break things.
5. Toggle the Start/Stop button in the program a couple times.
6. Make sure you've restarted your computer recently. That sometimes can effect things.
@@ChupacabraTutorials oh my problem fixed. Thanks for the help man. 😃👍
does it change the xbox buttons to playstation buttons?? i hate seing xbox buttons on my screen while holding a ps controller
That depends on game developers
yes... this comment is sponsored by being able to use the Bluetooth and listing the cons of the product... TY for sharing ur knowledge...👍🏾
Yeah I kept getting comments about this adapter, or that adapter, so I figured I should actually see if this adapter is the magical fix. Its an improvement if you want to use the audio devices built in to your controller while using it wirelessly. But it still lacks that ever critical missing detail. First party drivers.
I have this but need alternate hel, can you connect this adapter to an XBOX 360 controller? and/or can I use the same PS4 controllere for PS4 or I have to keep resetting?
This adapter is just for the PS4 Controller. If you wanna swap the PS4 Controller between Console and PC a lot. You can either keep manually pairing it. or just plug it into your pc and leave it paired wirelessly with your console.
@@ChupacabraTutorials Thank you
Hows the lag ?????
Mine stopped working today I think, I tried pairing my controller this morning and it wouldn’t work
Does this work for Ubisoft Store games or Epic Store games? Only thing I want to know so I get the correct prompts and not the Xbox icons
There's not really a good fix for having a Playstation Controller and playing a game that only supports Xbox Controllers.
This adapter is still going to require you to have a secondary driver in order to use your controller for most games. Your options are things like DS4 Windows, or a platform with built-in drivers like Steam. So for Epic Games and Ubisoft. You'd prolly use DS4 Windows. Which would "Pretend" to be an Xbox Controller. And you would still see Xbox Icons.
If the game supports PlayStation controllers then it will show the PlayStation icons. If it doesn’t t then you need a software like ds4windows to emulate a Xbox controller which will show the Xbox buttons.
whats the diffrence bewtween dualshock 4 wireless adapter usb vs a bluetooth 5.0/4.0 usb adapter
The dongle from Sony seems a bit better than just regular Bluetooth. But it still lacks drivers
@@ChupacabraTutorials ok
ty
Supposedly has less input lag compared to just connecting it with bluetooth (you don’t need an adapter to connect it to windows via bluetooth unless your PC doesn’t have bluetooth already)
is this compatible for the version 2?
Yes
i want this because when i use a regular bluetooth adapter on my pc it lags the input and sometimes disconnects. but 150$ hell na ill just use my xbox controller
Does xbox wireless adapter works eith ds4?
Can I connect 2 controllers at the same time with this dongle??
no bro... its a shhhit
Can you connect two controllers to PC wirelessly? Do you need two of these USB dongles?
I don't know if you can use more than one controller with one adapter at time. I do know you can use more than one controller over regular Bluetooth but you'd have to test how well that works on your machine
@@ChupacabraTutorialsthanks
@@ChupacabraTutorials 2 controllers works fine in regular bluetooth adopter because me n my friend played several time never faced any issue...but i want to know onething from you is it possible to get sound in earphone from controller's jack through regular bluetooth adopter or i must buy this official adopter just to get vibrate and sound features ?
steam as driver for and use feature if you have Bluetooth you don't need a usb stick … and steam doesn't need anything else just the controller connected and steam .. some game have problem but most it works fine.. and game that you don't have in steam you can just add them in the list and the controller will work with them also !
This doesn't solve the issue of the audio drivers for the device not working. The only way to get the microphone and headset jack accessible is with this dongle.
@@MrCuriousModding With this device I get the same audio drivers that appear on the controller when it's connected via USB, and the PC shows like it's transmitting sound to this dongle in the audio configurations, but for some reason I can't make the audio come out of the 3.5mm audio jack from the controller, and also can't use the microphone. When plugging from USB it works perfectly and this dongle is supposed to emulate the USB connection. It's like bluetooth has not enough power to transmit the audio from the joystick to the dongle and viceversa, or something like that. I don't know if this happens when it's connected to a PS4 in Remote Play since I don't own one, but I guess that's the case.
I don't know if this is always the case, if someone has managed to make it work please tell me.
Great tutorial video and very informative! I’d like to ask, does this dongle allows multiple dualshock 4 controllers to be connected wirelessly?
Heres my issue. I’m playing a game on espxe called Team Buddies and its a 4 player game. I have NO PROBLEMS connecting 4 Dualshock 4 controllers WITH a USB cable. However I want all of it to be wireless as I dont want wires to be dangling around. So when I tried pairing with bluetooth (which is built-in the motherboard), there are alot of problems.
1. Im able to pair 3/4 controllers while the 4th one fails to be paired or be discovered.
2. while 1st controller is connected, when i try to connect the 2nd controller, the 1st one disconnects.
I spent hours trying to pair them up wirelessly and i couldnt. I want to give up and Im thinking if this Sony Adapter will solve all my issues. Or should I just forget it, get a USB hub and go wired instead.
So I looked for you. The documentation didnt really say anything about how many you could connect. You can see the Manual PDF here if you wanna prooze over it: manuals.playstation.net/document/pdf/CUH-ZWA1G-1.pdf
I also looked on Amazon. But most people only asked if it came with drivers or talked about how it was just a replacement for plugging in a controller via USB.
SO. If I had to guess. I think its like the Xbox One Wireless Dongles. It only pairs with a single controller. For the Price tho. Id recommend just buying an Xbox Controller Wireless kit. Cus these adapters are like $100 atm.
@@ChupacabraTutorials Thanks for looking it up for me ! I figured you could test it out on your side, if its possible to connect 4 controllers to the Sony Adapter. But if its too much trouble no worries fam! I can afford the Sony Adapter as here in Singapore, we have a local distributor which goes as cheap as $30! Might as well give it a shot!
@@FearlessX01 So did you ever get to test the PS4 Wireless adapter? Because i have just ordered one of these, but i would also like to know if it can connect to more than one controller
@@FearlessX01 Can you please show what store in singapore sells them for 30?
@@ChupacabraTutorials For the record. You can only connect 1 controller per dongle. I just bought my second one so I can have 2 controllers hooked up nicely.
Does it work with the dualsense controller?
Just the PS4
@@ChupacabraTutorials good to know, I’m watching the video between calls at work and just got to the part where you have a dualsense controller so I haven’t finished it yet lol
I got one because I want to connect multiple controllers to my computer wirelessly.
does the speaker work on it?
Yes
Does this work with a PS5 controller?
No
does this give input delay?
It didn't seem too. But for the price your better off using a regular Bluetooth.
Idk if i should buy this does this reduce input delay
Youd be better off just getting an Xbox controller if it's to game on PC.
For best input delay use the controller wired
Can you use it with PS5 controller?
No. Doesn't detect it
I'm shocked. You paired a genuine ps4 controller to a genuine sony bluetooth adapter and you didn't even bother to check controller reading for latency?
Pairing a DS4 to a Bluetooth dongle is the issue of the year, as you never know what latency you'll get, what's your bluetooth range, etc.
Another thing you could have tested, is BTHPS3 to see if that sony BT dongle can be paired to DS3 Controllers.
Can you test these and update us?
is there a dualsense/ps5 controller usb wireless adapter
Not a specific one no
@@ChupacabraTutorials ok what’s a good Bluetooth adapter for ps5 controller i will be using ds4 windows and dual sense x
You want one with Bluetooth 4.0 or better
@@ChupacabraTutorials ok ty
Not a specific adapter for PS5 dualsense. Bluetooth is always unreliable in PC, unfortunately. I use all my controllers on PC with USB cables.
Will this work on Xbox
don't you think xbox has that already
Hey, I know this is 8 months late, but no, it will not. This is only meant for PS4 (DualShock 4) Controllets. If you want an adapter for Xbox One or Xbox Core (Series X|S) controllers, Microsoft has an offical tiny adapter that allows up to 8 controllers to connect, audio via the controller, and lower latency compared to bluetooth from what I've seen. It even includes an extension cable to put it out in front of your desk connected directly to your motherboard for better latency rather than the adapter connected there or on the front IO. The latency is still great either way, but I've tested it and it is slightly better and snappier with the adapter connected to the extension cable, that's connected directly to my USB 3.2 Gen 2 port (Supports up to USB 3.0, works with 2.0 but for better latency, connected to your highest specced USB port). You can get it off of NEWEGG (Basically an amazon for hardware, very reputable store) on sale for $12. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it works fantastic!

lol $250? Could buy a system for that price. There has to be an alternative
Just search up a Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter. I am a fan of ASUS's BT's adapter.
I have the adapter actually. I bought it at gamestop a couple years back for like $25.
I never use it because you can only use the adapter for the controller and nothing else. With the BT Adapter you can connect all your devices to one receiver, and the receiver will save those devices. So you can just turn on your separate BT speaker, your BT mouse, and turn on your DS4 (even more than one if you want) and they will all auto connect to BT.
Frfr
i dunno these thing exist, just use Bluetooth just fine
Does it work with rocket league? Anyone try it yet for that? That’s all I use a controller for… tired of wires though
You don't need this device if your PC already has Bluetooth. I'm not sure how well rocket league works you'd need to setup a driver and see
bro why the fuck is this thing 150 dollars???
The price went up like crazy. I'm not sure why
@@ChupacabraTutorials They don't make it anymore. Also there is 1... and ONE very important detail about this adapter you may not know since this product is pretty old and this video is pretty new.
The ONE huge reason for getting this adapter, is to connect to your PS4 from your PC through Remote Play. The Windows Remote Play app will ONLY accept this Official Sony Wireless Adapter as an input device. Without this adapter you need to use a cable plugged in to play remote play.
I got a good deal on it at gamestop for like $25 a couple years back. I bought it for this exact reason.
I'm not sure if this is still true today. But if it is? Then yeah... that's why it's so expensive xD
why tf is it 400 dollars
