@@Off-Road-Raptors I'm still using everything but the deck, I snapped that doing boardslides and replaced it with the MBS core 94 deck. The trucks and wheels are pretty solid; the wheels can handle 100+ psi but I usually run 80
Im starting out too and would love some pointers. My plan is to use it in an urban environment so mainly roads. My biggest stressor is controlling speed and stopping. Any advice would be appreciated.
@@tristangemmasebastiandavie9351 Hmm, I don’t know whether such a mountainboard is really usable in an urban environment. In my experience, it’s not really handy _and_ takes a lot of effort to make speed on flat ground. And for downhill rolling, you need a lot of space to turn. With those wheels you can’t slide (at all) on asphalt. A board like this is really meant for dirt tracks, grassy hills and beaches with hard sand. Sorry to disappoint you. 😕
@@Off-Road-Raptors hey thanks for the reply and foe the guidance. That's alright we have plenty of parks here in Devon UK and I have dartmoor which will provide LOADS of fun places to explore. Can you tell me if you think these boards are slower than a standard street boards and if tyre pressure would make a difference with drag on the board in an off road environment? I am kinda keen on just cruising rather than tricks.
@@tristangemmasebastiandavie9351 Ooh, Dartmoor will indeed be awesome! On hard surfaces, a mountainboard will definitely be slower than a standard skateboard or longboard. It's doable but tedious. Higher tyre pressure will make you go slightly faster on hard surfaces and noticeably faster when riding off-road. (Speaking from experience with my off-road skates.)
@@tristangemmasebastiandavie9351 Cool, you're gonna have big fun! 🤘 If you haven't seen it yet, in this video I'm giving some advice on how to roll downhill safely: ruclips.net/video/qlYjsOcYAUo/видео.htmlsi=3Uq3XceEbApXdqhn
That was my first board too!
Cool! What are you riding now? And is it noticeably better than that Vevor board? (I reckon it is, but I'd like to hear _how_ it's better. 😉)

@@Off-Road-Raptors that is very helpful thank you very much. I look forward to giving it a go - starting on a gentle grassy hill obviously
