This is like one of the only videos I was able to find with clear instructions on what exactly is going on. Thanks, saved me a lot of headache and anxiety attack!
When I do save as copy, it saves it to my computer but does not include ANY file format at the end. Not even PSD. I am not even able to use the saved image. What the heck??
But in my case, even if i'm trying to "save as copy", doesn't bring me JPEG format, PNG or any other one, I don’t know why, the file might be too large but still, i'ven been editing large formats and been able to "save them as a copy" but in the project that i'm working on right now, the "Save as a copy" doesn't really help
My problem still persist even after using save a copy. I'm trying to save a image with a mask, to a TARGA 32-bit file because in an older game engine (UE2.5) they require TARGA files to be 32-bit with alpha channels...problem is in this photoshop version and 2023 now, is that when you make the mask, make sure it is in the proper channels as well, do everything as expected before, this time, it once again, limits the file type I can save. I'm guessing, they are doing away with that in the newer versions now? Odd. So many things still use TARGA files that need that alpha channel for transparency, just seems like a really odd decision and using the way MAC iOS is, as a reason for the change. Seems they are only catering to apple users these days and by doing this, it proves it.
Thank You, ive searched for so long and there were so many videos telling to edit ps color settings and it never Worked except for this!! Your the Best!!!

It's amazing that Adobe has to dumb down things for Windows users as if they're Mac users. Why not instead make Apple users to have the options Windows users have?? I've been using Photoshop since the 90's, and this is the dumbest decision I've seen Adobe make. I've always used "Save As" to save a JPG. Now, longtime users have to change their habits to satisfy Mac Users who aren't using a Windows machine anyway?? Makes no sense. Thanks so much for the clarification on how to get around it. It's better than having to collapse the layers, save a JPG and then hit undo every time we have to save a file.
