I had the best Mamak mee in Nibong Tebal years ago.Since then rarely i find one that fits the look and the taste. However for the first time, i am seeing one that is so similar to that mee here on your video. I am hoping this will turn out with the exact same taste. I can't wait to try this.
Subbing cucur with bread is ingenious! Btw fyi the actual name for the cucur in penang mee and pasembor is said to be kolakate... which sounds ((kinda)) similar to kozhukattai but idk if it's related.
So, kolakate sounds like a culinary cousin to kozhukattai? I guess they must exchange recipes at family gathering! 🤣. Thank you and we really appreciate your insight! it's always cool to discover the local names and connections in food culture.
@@kickinglemons6684 haha but don't quote me on that ya coz I don't really know if the name actually came from kozhukattai or not but it's definitely the name that's the closest to it that I know of.

Bread for cucur is excellent idea! I’d normally soak break and combine that with minced chicken for my chicken meatballs pasta.
That sounds like a great idea too, bread+chicken = meatballs. Thank you for the comment and idea😍

The name came from Mamak Haji himself
