The crazy part about that is that Zidane was known to be quiet and was very calm 99% of the time.
But this remaining 1% happened at two important and defining moments of his career, cost him 1 Ballon d'Or and cost France 1 World Cup Title.

You have to react to "Did Franck Ribery Deserve the Ballon d'Or 2013?" sometime. His dribbling is of a style I've never seen before in a player. To me his dribbling is the definition of the ball is a magnet to his feet. He played for Bayern Munich and his partnership with Arjen Robben is regarded as one of the best partnerships in the history of the sport. Obviously there are sooo many players that are worth reacting to; old and new. I hope you get a chance to react to all of them eventually.

    • @michaelgrabner8977
      @michaelgrabner8977 Год назад +1

What "partnership"? Ribery and Robben played on opposite sides of the pitch at Bayern Munich, Ribery played along the left outline and Robben played along the right outline so both were divided by 68 meters of the pitch´s width so they saw each other during the game just from far...basically that was literally just a "long distance relationship" and no "partnership"
Ribery had "a partnership" with David Alaba because both were "playing together" along the left outline at Bayern Munich, besides they were and they are best friends in private life as well...and that is what I then call "a partnership" by definition.

    • @kenzied.silvers6614

@@michaelgrabner8977 What is meant by partnership is how lethal it was to have them together. @@kenzied.silvers6614 You didn´t get my point at all....The point was "Partnership" is the wrong term for describing that.
The term "partnership" soley implies that those 2 were passing the ball to each other on the pitch all the time .
"A close interacting with each other" = "the actual definition for the term partnership" ...and that wasn´t the case between Robben and Ribery for obvious reasons = their position on the pitch wasn´t "side by side" in order to be capeable to do that.
You can just say for instance those 2 were "essential and lethal parts of their team" for describing what those 2 did at Bayern Munich

Messi does to some extent improve his team mates, but really his peak was about his threat, same with Ronaldinho.

I don't even need to watch it to say it isn't nearly possible.
I'll just quote Michel Platini (the best French till Zidane): "What Zidane could do with a ball, Maradona could do with an orange.”
    He's not even close.

People need to stop bringing Pele up against more modern greats as if he is somehow equal. Pele played at a time when fitness was of a much lower standard than it is today, Pele in his prime wouldn't be anywhere near as effective against defenders from the past 20 years as the likes of Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Messi, etc, have been.

CM's are the most important players in the game and typically the best overall players. Though not as good as Zidane, go check out a video of Ruud Gullitt. What would it look like if America's best athletes played? They'd look a lot like Gullitt.

Love your content, and I have some suggestions for you!
I've been watching football for at least a decade now and there's a lot to learn, but I thought you could start by looking up Ribery and Thierry Henry because they were mentioned in this video.
I also think you should watch some compilations of Pele and highlights of Argentina's goals in the 1986 world cup when maradona led them to victory. I can see why people call each of them the best in the world, but it's still Messi for me.
Last suggestion! I think you'd enjoy reacting to full match highlights rather than compilations. It's much easier to understand how a game develops when you see it in full rather than chopped up in compilations. If you're not sure where to start, I highly recommend the premier league highlights from NBC sports because they give you a full sense of the development of each play throughout the game. Pick a team to follow and just watch their highlights every weekend! I think that would be fun to see and would help you apply what you've learned in a real game.
There are lots of classic matches to look up highlights for as well. Almost any El Clasico (any game between fc Barcelona and real Madrid) would be a good one to watch, or maybe look up older world cup final highlights (2010 and 2014 maybe?).
Again, love to see you learning about the sport. Hope this helps! Love the content and hope you keep it up!

apart from Zidane, Thierry Henry is one of the best/most famous french players of that (or really any) generation. One of the best players in Premier league history, people compare Mbappe to HIM.

Zizu is the GOAT in my opinion. He had an aura. More so than Messi or CR7. He was the greatest in a generation that was absolutely stacked of the very best players. Messi and CR7 are unbelievable. No argument where they belong in the history of the game. But their generation wasn't as stacked as it was then. I could list off the players, but it would take too long. He was in a generation that had THE Ronaldo. Who if never had got so many injuries would have been the GOAT. Over Messi over CR7. And yet. Zidane to me was better.

lol at you getting distracted by the stadium and missing the backstory for the headbutt haha. Good to see you reacting to these sorts of videos though, fun to watch you learn actual context and lore about some of the legendary players we all love instead of just watching highlights with no context. Gives more of a perspective on why these guys are considered the greats.
Also, I would highly, highly, highly recommend Football Iconic's video on Thierry Henry, one of the players France subbed out whose name you didn't recognize in this video. He was unbelievable, considered by most as the best striker the Premier League has ever seen and led Arsenal to an unprecedented 38 game unbeaten season in 2004, something no other team has EVER done in the modern era. Very worth a watch ruclips.net/video/ZFJArIeTs68/видео.html

Good reaction. However I can't understand why people believe that if Zidane was on the pitch France would have won. The penalty kicks are unpredictable, players like Ronaldo and Messi missed penalty kicks so why couldn't Zidane? Trezeguet was in 2006 one of the best striker in the world, and yet he hit the crossbar...

France at the moment of Zidanes last world cup also had maybe the biggest clown in football as a manager. Wich has since become apparent. So maybe that played in to Zidanes bad decision? The substitutions of Henry and Ribery was certainly stupid.
