I'm 80, my car club showed Vanishing Point last weekend, packed clubhouse. We all grew up with muscle cars and 50's street rods. I still have my '65 Shelby Cobra, my favorite
Yup. This is off their album Metalized. I’m 27 years old, and while the other kids were playing video games and listening to Green Day and Brittany Spears on their iPods... I was listening to Blackie Lawless and Doro Pesch and Don Dokken and Ozzy on 8-track tape! Driving on backwoods roads twisting around giant ditches left behind by glaciers in ancient times. I drove an old GMC pickup with no doors, no windows, no hood, and an engine that made the earth tremble. And we didn’t have a police station or traffic lights in our town... It was Heaven on Earth.
Ja. Tape and Vinyl have a satisfying soothing rawness, intimacy, and of course, physicality, that CD/Digital does not. Their ’imperfection’ is their beauty. Also, cassette is making a comeback of sorts whilst Vinyl has outlived CD.
@@konigeurichderwestgoten4460lol. Vinyl is shit and CDs haven't died. In fact, they're making a comeback, thank God. Why would anyone want to go back to cassette? They sucked. They sounded okay, but we're a pain in the ass, especially if you wanted to listen to a specific song that wasn't just the first song on a side, and even then, are you sure you put the tape in the right way or are you about to play the other side? Cassettes were crap and they died a deserved death. Vinyl is probably the worst as vinyl is sensitive to just about everything, and every play reduces their quality. Furthermore, test after test has proven the "warmth" you've described is bs you're making up in your head. At most that "warmth" is noise produced by a shitty system, at best it doesn't exist at all. And I know your next argument: "but analog records the sounds between the ones and zeros that digital recording misses". You're 100% wrong. The sample rate is considerably faster than your brain can possibly process. There is nothing in an analog recording that a digital recording doesn't also pick up. In the end, CDs are and have always been, the best way to consume audio. You still get the full artwork which you don't get with cassette or 8 tracks, and you get the exact same sounds in better quality that won't degrade over time or everytime you play it. Even scratching a CD is usually fixable and doesn't always damage the playback ability/quality unlike any analog medium which cannot be repaired when broken and can't play at all if damaged.
@@Trentstone121 Chill out and thicken your skin, dude. CD irritates my ears and stresses me out. I'm constantly adjusting the volume and skipping over songs, doesn't matter the sound system. I feel distant from the music, can't immerse myself in it. Whereas vinyl or cassette? I kick back with a book in my hand and enjoy the whole track. Some people like Van Halen's Eruption? I like Steve Lynch's Hammerhead. They like orcas? I like sharks. They like Van Damme's Bloodsport? I like Lionheart. I'm sticking with my vinyl and tape.
Well, you would be happy to know I purchased them on tape cassette, brand new back in the day, and my favorite song was "Trouble Is"....Played that loud and frequently enough to cause me trouble with those closest to me at the time.
I have been a fan of heavy metal music for 50 years and had never heard this song before. In fact, never even knew the band existed. How can this be? This song is absolutely incredible and one of the greatest songs in metal history. An absolute banger. Please listen to the entire album called Metalized as there are many other great songs to enjoy.

Man, I love it this movie, this one (alongside with Two Lane Blacktop) these were my first approach to the old school Muscle cars themed movie cars that I use to watch with my late grandpa (he died due to lung cancer in 2001, literally just 4 days prior to 9/11); and Vanishing Point was that I remember the most; specially everytime we watch it, he always either cover-up my eyes or pass fast foward when the nude biker girl appears on the screen (I was 3 years old back in 2000 and in 2001); but, I still remembers the fresh image of what it was an brand new '70 white challenger riding like it was an free stallion everytime when someone asks about remember my grandpa. Specially in how I started to respect the classic muscle cars, specially of why my friends at the primary & secondary school asks to me everytime that I played an Muscle car themed car list in videogames like; NFS Carbon or an heavily modified GTA San Andreas, of why I always have an clean looking white '71 Challenger R/T (which was the car added in the muscle car list in NFSC) without any fancy-a$$ bodykits and over the top supercharged blowers as the others (mostly imitating pretty bad the Chip Foose's Overhaulin' hot rod style); and I always tell the story of this classic movie.
Thank you for the wonderful story. And for the name of the movie. I also love the look and power of classic cars since early childhood, and I didn't understand friends/people who admire modern disposable and identical dumps on wheels... Good luck, with the best regrets from Ukraine.
@@Death_bot666 Yeah and also, not many understand my type of taste, and these "friends" they rather prefer to call that White Challenger as "The Death Proof Challenger"; which it makes me sometimes to send the challenger R/T to the in-game paint shop to be repainted as an replica that hommages the "2F2F Orange & Black Challenger" (other times I also did the Driver San Francisco Challenger) due to avoid any pointless fighting discussion outside the school.
