Thanks for the feedback! You are right that we are in a position to sell the gear that we review. However, our team is made up of hardcore riders and we always strive to provide our own opinion on how well the product performs. We wouldn't promote a $100 helmet like the Qualifier as superior to something like the Shoei RF-1200. The Bell Qualifier is what it is and we hope that our reviews do a good job of breaking this down for you without unfairly representing the product.
This is not meant to be a premium helmet by any stretch of the imagination. However, it is definitely a large improvement over the majority of $100 helmets that currently exist on the market. -CK
This was a great helmet for the price but i hate that my visor opens up sometimes on the hwy. That was the only issue i had. My old hjc visor locked, but i never had any issues with the visor cracking open when i twist the throttle when i didn't lock it lol. Time to upgrade though. Thinking about going with agv but not sure which one.
This is a good helmet, I have one and you wont find a more comfortable helmet for this price. One thing to keep in mind that they mention in the video is this helmet is for sportbikes. I ride a Harley and this helmet sucks for the upright seated positions, it's aerodynamics are made for a low leaning position. lots of head bobble at an upright position.
Glad to see Bell finally doing away with the Arrow, and making a recognizable "family" of helmets. I felt like the Arrow was the last hold out from the previous generation of Bell.
Great review guys, bought the helmet just based on this video, You guys should do more reviews with ride videos like this one if possible. Only issue with the helmet so far is the fog build up on cold mornings, just wondering if the breath guard from bell star would fix that(since they have the same seams/openings in front of the helmet)? Graphics goes well with my Red R6, and very pleased with the Transitions Shield, thanks heaps Anthony and Revzilla Team.
RevZilla Thanks Brian, i bought the bell star breath deflector any way and it actually fits perfectly, so looks like im all sorted now. Happy days mate.
I love RevZilla and the videos, but calling any of these product guides "reviews" is misleading. You guys are selling it, so you can't review something properly if you are gaining from each unit sold. An Overview or Product Guide would be a better title. just my opinion. Looks like a good product nonetheless.
Steven Vincent The Qualifier will work well on a cruiser, although it's optimized for a sportbike. Most helmets are designed with a specific riding position in mind. For example, the Qualifier's aerodynamics and ventilation ports are optimized for the 3/4 to tuck position, which is why we said it's more of a sportbike helmet. -Hi-Viz Brian

Scylene That is a locking tab, but it's only used with Bell's higher-end helmets. Recently put a deposit on the new to America Honda VFR1200X. I live in Temecula, CA and will be touring CA and the southwest. Helmet budget is in the $300.00 range. The VFR will most likely be black, so a solid black helmet would be fine. Recommendations!?
+Nick Raphael My top recommendations are the HJC RPHA ST and the Scorpion EXO-T1200. They both have internal sun visors for sunny southwest touring, and both come in solid black. Yes and no. They don't make a breath deflector and chin curtain for the Qualifier. It's not the best fit, but passable. -Hi-Viz Brian * www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/bell-star-breath-deflector-and-chin-curtain
hi, really usefull and beautiful helmet. but im not sure.. i cant decide between this bell dlx and hjc FG-17. what is better ? is this Bell with Transitions® Adaptive Shield better than HJC with anti-fog/ anti-uv with PINLOCK???
Hayk Papyan It really depends which feature you value more: having the photochromic tinting or having Pinlock anti-fog. The anti-fog coating on the Bell shield is pretty good, but Pinlock is the best when it comes to anti-fog. If you have a lot of fogging concerns, go for the FG-17 and get the optional Pinlock insert for it. -DrewZilla
The DLX version is both DOT- and ECE-rated, has a nicer interior liner, and comes with a Transitions photochromic face shield. The standard Qualifier is DOT-only and only includes a standard clear shield. Hey! Great vids guys! Quick question, is there a difference in fit between the Bell Qualifier and Bell Qualifier Cam? Or is it just the graphics? Thanks!
The shield is the same shield used on a few other Bell helmets, and on the other helmets, the tab acts as a vent/lock mechanism. On the Qualifier, it does not serve a function. -DrewZilla
I have a dilemma about choosing the size of this helmet, my head size is 56.5CM, and the sizes of this helmet is S - 55-56CM. M - 57-58. l don't know what to order the M or S. please help.
Yes, it will be snug, but it shouldn't too snug. Without you trying it on, it is difficult to guarantee which size will be appropriate for you. However, when people are between sizes, we generally recommend starting with the smaller size. -DrewZilla
It depends on the size. Size XS and Small have a smaller outside shell compared to sizes Medium and Large, which use a larger outer shell. If you're in the US, you could order sizes Small and Medium, try them on back-to-back at home, then return the size that doesn't fit. -DrewZilla
How to determine the size suitable? My head circumference is 23"( 58.5cm). What size should I buy? Will the manufacturer clarify? Do you have someone, your local dealer in Minneapolis, who would help us trying out different sizes to buy the suitable size? Thank you. Vijayasingh
+Vijayasingh Yesudian At 58.5cm, you are between sizes medium and large. However, we normally recommend going to the smaller size if you can. Therefore, we recommend starting with size medium. RevZilla does not have a physical store in Minneapolis, but there may be another Bell dealer in the area. -DrewZilla
In solid colors, it actually fits in pretty well on a cruiser. However, for a less angular full-face design, I recommend the HJC CL-17 and FG-17. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/hjc-cl-17-helmets *www.revzilla.com/hjc-fg-17-helmets
How should I pick sizes if I have a round head shape? I know a lot of people already go up one size, but do I go up two sizes because of my head shape? My head measure 22 inches by the way. I was going to buy a medium.
MiniVan2k You should never go up a size to accommodate your head shape because the helmet will not fit correctly. We recommend buying a helmet that fits your head shape. For help, give our Gear Geeks a call at 1-877-792-9455 or email at cs@revzilla.com. Have a great weekend! -Hi-Viz Brian
The CS-R3 has two shell sizes (XS-MD and LG-2XL), while the Bell Qualifier has three shell sizes (XS-SM, MD-LG, and XL-2XL). The Qualifier is also slightly lighter. Though it's a little more expensive, I recommend the Bell Qualifier. -DrewZilla
Can I apply a full black visor on the helmet instead of the transparent one that comes with the helmet? And if i can from where can I get one? - Sorry I am new to all this bike stuff and looking forward to purchasing :)
Yes, dark smoke visors are available separately. Please see the link below for details. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/bell-vortex-star-revolver-evo-rs-1-qualifier-face-shield
I'm a aspiring Motorcyclist, in the process of acquiring the license and bike. Been researching helmets but I wear glasses so I was curious as to what the best way to choose sizing and such. Should I put on my helmet first then the glasses and close there visor, should I acquire contacts for riding or should I look into different models of helmets
I wear glasses, so that's always something I consider. The best brands for those of us who wear glasses are Shoei, Arai, Shark, and Scorpion, as they specifically design their helmets to accommodate glasses. Here's the correct procedure to put your helmet on. Remove glasses. Put on helmet. Secure helmet chin strap. Make sure face shield is open. Put on glasses. Ride! -DrewZilla (www.revzilla.com/shoei-helmets) (www.revzilla.com/arai-helmets) (www.revzilla.com/shark-helmets) (www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo)
+p018gg Whether you can use it for karting depends on the safety rules of the karting organizing body, so we recommend checking those rules first. -DrewZilla
Thanks for making another great review! I'm curious and I don't know if I heard you incorrectly, I purchased and used the heck out of my Large Bell RS-1 since 2012, I am looking at buying this helmet in a size medium. Will my large transition RS-1 face shield fit the brackets on this medium size helmet? Thanks in advance
Your face shield is not size-specific, as it is used for all sizes of the RS-1, Vortex, old Star, as well as the Qualifier. So if you buy the Qualifier in medium, you can easily use your existing Transitions shield. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/bell-qualifier-helmets
The Bell Qualifier is a bit better for glasses, but the Scorpion EXO-R410 is even better for glasses. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-r410-helmets
I just tried to order the helmet and a visor for it on the website JUST to see if i was even able to do it. When i went to something called "Daytime Phone" it said it has to be a 10 digit number, and that it was required. Here in Denmark we have 8 digit numbers. So i can't fill it in? Is there a solution to that?
Can you send me an email at cs@revzilla.com regarding the situation? Please explain exactly what you just told me on RUclips. I look forward to hearing from you. -Hi-Viz Brian
Had a lowside crash yesterday and helmet took the most damage. Visor clicked off and the click release mechanism popped out. Helmet is still in good condition but the spring for one of the "clicks" was lost. Would the Star hinge kit fit the qualifier? If not, should I just get a whole new helmet?
I'm glad you're alright and the helmet did its job! I highly recommend getting a new helmet. The EPS liner in your helmet is probably damaged. The EPS liner is the "crumple zone" of a helmet. Once damaged, it's not able to absorb impact as well as it should. -Hi-Viz Brian
RevZilla addressed it in another comment. It's a locking tab. It's not used on this particular helmet, but the same shield is also used on higher-end helmets which can take advantage of it.
I ride a honda shadow 750, would this helmet be too aggressive for this bike? If so, could you provide some other helmet options for cruisers around this price point?
In that price range, I recommend the HJC RPHA ST, Scorpion EXO-T1200, and AGV K3 SV. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/hjc-rpha-st-helmet-solid *www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-t1200-helmet *www.revzilla.com/agv-k3-sv-helmet
bell qualifier or icon alliance? I live in Florida and looking for a safe, comfortable and well ventilated entry level helmet. if you have other helmets in mind that are matte black and open for suggestions
+carlmanu The Qualifier and Alliance are decent helmets, but I like the Scorpion EXO-R410 in Matte Black even more. The Scorpion face shield is a bit nicer as is the overall build quality. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/scorpion-exo-r410-helmet
Both have similar shell construction and quality. The big difference is that the C70 has an internal sun visor, and the Qualifier does not. So you might decide based on whether you want an internal sun visor or not. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/Bell_Qualifier_Helmet *bit.ly/HJC_C70_Helmet
You would still be a LG in the Qualifier, but the biggest problem you will encounter is that the Airframe Pro from ICON has a Long Oval head shape and the Qualifier has an Intermediate Oval one. So you will likely get pressure points at the forehead that won't go away regardless of going up in sizing to the XL. I would recommend getting in touch with our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com to discuss some options you may have. Ride safe, Pat
hai there mate..can you post or share a video for bell qualifier legion helmet with a dark silver shield on it? i am curious what the helmet will looks like.. i already have bell qualifier legion and want to change the clear shield to some bad ass cool shield xD.. beside that, i take the L size..thus the size changes with its weight? for example for size M and L is there any difference on their weight?? thanks buddy..appreciate if you can reply my comments..! Im from Malaysia btw =)
It really depends on how the wind comes over your bike and your bike's windscreen (if it has one), but generally, buffeting is pretty low in upright and 3/4 riding positions. -DrewZilla
Thanks for mentioning the double D-ring clasp ....NOT!. Like so many review videos you ignore the chin strap. Even the Bell web site doesn't say what type the clasp is. It's an old low budget technology; a deal breaker for me.
I find the Qualifier is slightly better, as it uses multiple shells across the size range. The LS2 Stream only makes do with one shell size to cover all sizes. If you want a helmet with an internal sun visor, though, the Stream is a great option for its price. -DrewZilla
The Breaker is a bit nicer quality, and it includes an internal sun visor, which the Qualifier does not have. However, the Qualifier is more affordable. -DrewZilla
apichat Khunmuang Have you considered the HJC FG-17? If you have a round head shape it's a great option over the CS-R2, CL-17, and Qualifier. The FG-17 has a fiberglass shell (not plastic). Both are good helmets, but it really depends on your own head shape. If you aren't sure about head shape, please see this guide below. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/common-tread/motorcycle-helmet-fitment-101
No, on the regular Qualifier, the stock visor is just a plain clear visor. If you get the Qualifier DLX, it comes with a photochromic visor. However, the Qualifier DLX _Blackout_ model comes with clear and smoke visors but not a photochromic visor. -DrewZilla
No, it does not. The Qualifier Blackout model comes with both a clear and dark smoke face shield. The other Qualifier DLX models (above $200) come with the photochromic auto-tinting face shield. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/bell-qualifier-dlx-blackout-helmet

Which is lighter. A Bell Qualifier, or Bell Qualifier?
If they're the same sizes, they will weigh the same. -Hi-Viz Brian
Sorry. I mean Qualifier or Vortex.
I'd be happy to weigh them for you. What sizes? -Hi-Viz Brian
Large would be cool. If that's not available, any MATCHING size would be awesome just so I can get an idea!
Qualifier = 3lbs 6.2oz
Vortex = 3lbs 14.4oz
Wat kind of graphics or design is this qualifier sir?"black red"?
Bell qualifier or hjc cs-r3 ?
The CS-R3 has two shell sizes (XS-MD and LG-2XL), while the Bell Qualifier has three shell sizes (XS-SM, MD-LG, and XL-2XL). The Qualifier is also slightly lighter. Though it's a little more expensive, I recommend the Bell Qualifier. -DrewZilla
does it come with pin lock in box ?
Can I apply a full black visor on the helmet instead of the transparent one that comes with the helmet? And if i can from where can I get one? - Sorry I am new to all this bike stuff and looking forward to purchasing :)
Yes, dark smoke visors are available separately. Please see the link below for details. -DrewZilla

Can this helmet be used for go karting if not what is a good £150 helmet
-DrewZilla

Which would be better for a rider with glasses? The Bell Qualifier or the Icon Alliance Dark? Thanks
The Bell Qualifier is a bit better for glasses, but the Scorpion EXO-R410 is even better for glasses. -DrewZilla

Would it be worth it to maybe one and and get it sent to Denmark? Would it cost extra to get it sent such a long way?
Have a look at our International Shipping Policy page listed below. -Hi-Viz Brian
www.revzilla.com/international-orders
I just tried to order the helmet and a visor for it on the website JUST to see if i was even able to do it.
When i went to something called "Daytime Phone" it said it has to be a 10 digit number, and that it was required.
Here in Denmark we have 8 digit numbers.
So i can't fill it in? Is there a solution to that?
Can you send me an email at cs@revzilla.com regarding the situation? Please explain exactly what you just told me on RUclips. I look forward to hearing from you. -Hi-Viz Brian
Hey revzilla, what is the better helmet, agv k3 sv or bell qualifier?, I can't decide because both are cool
The fit and finish are a bit nicer on the K3 SV, but the Qualifier isn't far behind. -DrewZilla
Would some of the clamp style Bluetooth headsets be able to slide into the neck roll area for this hellmet?
Wayne C They sure will. Bell Qualifier Helmet Review at RevZilla.com -Hi-Viz Brian
Hi Guys!
What's up with that black piece right on the side of the visor?
Does it have any purpose other than aesthetic?
Thank you!
No, this works for your Shadow too, like the Scorpion. -DrewZilla

bell qualifier or icon alliance? I live in Florida and looking for a safe, comfortable and well ventilated entry level helmet. if you have other helmets in mind that are matte black and open for suggestions
+carlmanu The Qualifier and Alliance are decent helmets, but I like the Scorpion EXO-R410 in Matte Black even more. The Scorpion face shield is a bit nicer as is the overall build quality. -DrewZilla

Hi, can you tell me if the pads from the Vortex will fit inside the Qualifier? Thanks!

You got it! -Hi-Viz Brian

Bell qualifier or AGV K3 - SV?
Depends on the size/fit. If your head has a round shape go with the AGV. Bell is more of a intermediate oval.
In comparsion of hjc c70, which is better overall?
Both have similar shell construction and quality. The big difference is that the C70 has an internal sun visor, and the Qualifier does not. So you might decide based on whether you want an internal sun visor or not. -DrewZilla

Guys, if I had L Icon Air Frame helmet - should I take XL on Bell Qualifier?
You would still be a LG in the Qualifier, but the biggest problem you will encounter is that the Airframe Pro from ICON has a Long Oval head shape and the Qualifier has an Intermediate Oval one. So you will likely get pressure points at the forehead that won't go away regardless of going up in sizing to the XL. I would recommend getting in touch with our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com to discuss some options you may have. Ride safe, Pat
is there a breath deflector made for those or anything that fits them ?
Hi Revzilla. .bell Qualifer or HJC FG17 ?
+Ekrem Mücahit Sari FG-17 is the better helmet with its stronger/lighter fiberglass shell. -DrewZilla

hai there mate..can you post or share a video for bell qualifier legion helmet with a dark silver shield on it? i am curious what the helmet will looks like.. i already have bell qualifier legion and want to change the clear shield to some bad ass cool shield xD.. beside that, i take the L size..thus the size changes with its weight? for example for size M and L is there any difference on their weight?? thanks buddy..appreciate if you can reply my comments..! How is this helmet do with wind buffering
It really depends on how the wind comes over your bike and your bike's windscreen (if it has one), but generally, buffeting is pretty low in upright and 3/4 riding positions. -DrewZilla

when the red and black will be in stoke?
Are you referring to the Cam graphic? -Hi-Viz Brian
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/bell-qualifier-cam-helmet
Thanks for mentioning the double D-ring clasp ....NOT!. Like so many review videos you ignore the chin strap. Even the Bell web site doesn't say what type the clasp is. It's an old low budget technology; a deal breaker for me.
Thanks for the review very helpful
What helmet is better? Bell Qualifier or Ls2 Stream?
I find the Qualifier is slightly better, as it uses multiple shells across the size range. The LS2 Stream only makes do with one shell size to cover all sizes. If you want a helmet with an internal sun visor, though, the Stream is a great option for its price. -DrewZilla
which is better ls2 breaker or bell qualifier?
The Breaker is a bit nicer quality, and it includes an internal sun visor, which the Qualifier does not have. However, the Qualifier is more affordable. -DrewZilla
What is the total weight to ship to Colombia?
Jose Quevedo The shipping weight is approximately 5.5lbs or 2.5kg. -Hi-Viz Brian
5.55 Is that slots for bluetooth helmet earphone?
apichat Khunmuang The Qualifier has speaker pockets for Bluetooth systems. -Hi-Viz Brian
RevZilla I'm so hesitate between HJC - CS-R2 or CL-17 and the Qualifier. Which one is the best please.!!
apichat Khunmuang What is your head shape and what bike do you ride? -Hi-Viz Brian
My bike is cbr650f. I usually wear the size XXL or XL helmet. ^^
apichat Khunmuang Have you considered the HJC FG-17? If you have a round head shape it's a great option over the CS-R2, CL-17, and Qualifier. The FG-17 has a fiberglass shell (not plastic). It's SNELL M2010 certified. The HJC FG-17 is also Pinlock-ready. -Hi-Viz Brian

HJC Cl-17 or the BELL qualifier?
Both are good helmets, but it really depends on your own head shape. The HJC CL-17 has a round oval internal fit around the crown of the head, while the Bell Qualifier has an intermediate oval fit around the crown of the head. If you aren't sure about head shape, please see this guide below. -DrewZilla

is the stock visor photochromatic or not?
No, on the regular Qualifier, the stock visor is just a plain clear visor. If you get the Qualifier DLX, it comes with a photochromic visor. However, the Qualifier DLX _Blackout_ model comes with clear and smoke visors but not a photochromic visor. -DrewZilla
thanks!
does it has Dual Visor?
No, it does not have a dual visor. -DrewZilla
Does this one come with the dark lenses?
No, it does not. The Qualifier Blackout model comes with both a clear and dark smoke face shield. The other Qualifier DLX models (above $200) come with the photochromic auto-tinting face shield. -DrewZilla

Hi, Can you please help me with a good helmet around 150$ for Harley davidson(Street 750) for cruising!
As much as the cruiser scene seems to love half-helmets, I really recommend investing in a full-face. Your chin is the area most commonly impacted in a crash. I've linked a couple of my favorite helmets in this price point below. -TeamZilla Chris
