@@ParkersReef I was stumped at the manual last night with my new medium size light but your video helped me nut it out before its end. Coupled with settings I have from another user, my tank looks fantastic now. Cheers
Having the newer blue version of these over my 7ft tank in a few months, look forward to your future videos on these. Will be my first RF products along side the KH keeper pro. Thanks
@@ParkersReef I am saving up to buy one, hence I asked for a review.I prefer your reviews as you are honest and they are really expensive in South Africa. Thanks again.
These lights look good, but they are priced right behind the Radion Gen5’s so might as well get the cream of the crop for slightly more. Not trying to be negative but not sure where the value is here given they are clearly a generation or two behind and within 10% of the price of Radions. If they were more like $800 that would be very tempting. I think we seriously over pay for lights. I remember paying $3500 for the Geisemann Infinity halide+T5 back in the day but that was for a 300gal tank. Nowadays that would be at least $5000 of Radions whereas literally ALL other electrical goods have come way down. $5000 gets you a big TV+home theatre package!!
Great video as usual Sam :) I would love to see a small unit or single cluster compared to an Ecotech G5 Radion XR15. I've had my heart set on a Radion for quite a while now. I'm pretty confident I've perfected the flow in my tank and so I'm really interested in upgrading my lighting but I'm pretty conflicted between buying a G5 XR15 or a G6 if they come out with one, just to use it with Mobius in collaboration with my MP10. It's not necessarily a huge deal I guess. Yeah, I would honestly need advice because say the Reef Flare Pro was 5% better, I don't know if Mobius working with my lighting and flow, would cancel out that 5% gain. Maybe there'd be no difference. But Mobius has all these different templates and I feel like the Lighting and Flow working off a custom template could be applied to almost any Reef and dialed in to suit it so I've really tunnel visioned on a single cluster G5 XR15 lately for use with my MP10 and Mobius. I could easily be making the wrong choice though.
It will save you from a possible mistake if you are considering a purchase. 3 lamps hang above my friend's aquarium. Wifi connection was a real nightmare, the lamps disconnect or blink and the signal is very good, also the lamps themselves turn off and sometimes the only solution is to turn off the power completely. The application is tragic, setting the lighting pattern is a real nightmare. The light is a dramatic disco Ball at the bottom of the aquarium. The lenses are screwed up. The quality of workmanship is slightly better than the first version of these lamps. Compared to the Ecotech Radion G5, it's like day and night. In every aspect, Radion beats lamps from Reef Factory. Maybe in a couple of generations it will be reasonably acceptable, but not yet.
For a Polish company I am starting to think Reef Factory definitely has something to offer. But to me this light is a bit of an oddity for them. Like the pH Meter was the only standalone pH probe monitor - not revolutionary but revolutionary in reefing. It has a premium price but there wasn't another option until the Hydros X3. Their other products tend to share this trait or (like the dosing pumps) work with their other products. These lights (in price) are in the realm of the Radion but the spectrum and diffusion I think would be well behind or to say it another way the light it produces probably is more in line with a USD200 light for 90W whilst it is priced around 400. I think there is a huge opportunity to come in with a mid-tier lighting option - can anyone name one? Maybe ReeFi although its towards the top end in price but I think is the best value light on the market - it's heavy violet but probably has the best features/quality for any LED (I think beating Radion and up their with GHL Mitras and the Coral Cares). What they did with the bars was to make them dimmable and provide some excellent mounting options. Mounting options are critical and I think ReefFactory will fix that with these - still Illumagic seem to be miles out in front of everyone else, Ecotech's are ugly and ATI for some reason say they would have to make their lights waterproof if they were to provide mounting options. I can't see what these lights offer. Even their bars have more different types of diodes between 400 and 500. This brings me to what I think is their most interesting lighting feature... that combining their lights and bars should provide the perfect wide blue spectrum. That's because the lights have 400, 420, 450 and 470 whilst the bars have 410, 430 (a small number of 450 and 470), 460 and 480. Anyhow I am happy there is ReefFactory setting the standard on ease of setup and use - us reefers need better options ;)
Fair points I think, although time will tell if these are behind or ahead of radions. They definitely set the standard for home reef tank lights - but yes, the method for setting up abs connecting devices on the reef factory ecosystem is something to behold!
@@ParkersReef yeah but I can't really see what specs / features put these lights in that premium light category with Radion, Kessil etc. People will buy them and it'd be great to see another top company in reefing. This is particularly the case because if you asked me what are the biggest problems with reefing technology / equipment I would say UX and closed ecosystems. Reef Factory's number one strength is UX and their strategy is built around standalone products. So I am hoping they are a huge success.
@@ParkersReef another question regarding calcium reactor, mate. How often do you need to check your PH prob on the reactor, with the Co2 bubbles in the reactor will the PH reading got way off really quick on your unit?
This was great information, thankyou.
Glad it was helpful!

Great video on the light. Now that you have had it for some time. What do you think about it? I ask because I’m considering getting them for my tank.
I haven't actually been running them for this time, so couldn't say with any real honesty. I have a few friends that do though and they love them
I love these product spotlight and reviews! Keep it up
Glad you’re enjoying them! More on the way!!!
Hey Sam did you ever get around to reviewing this light? Thanks
I haven't as yet no
Hello~ When is the review coming? I am on the edge between this or the radions. Starting a new tank~ Thanks!
Just waiting on some mounts and a review of both the Pro and Blue will come after that!

I’m sure you’ll be pleased, seems like very good gear!
Nice work Sam, it looks pretty easy to set up ,like to see the par and spread to camper with Kessil and Ai .thanks for the video mate!
Consider it done :)
Great Video Sam. Any sneak peak on how blue it is under full actinic? Is it more towards Kessil or more washed out like Radion?
Great question, let me test it out for you tomorrow abs report back :)
Any updates on this lighting system?
Afraid not. I have them here to do the full review on, just struggling to find time :/
@@ParkersReef no worries. Figured I’d ask. Haven’t pulled the plug on anything just yet. Thank you

Do you think the Reef Flare Pro is a good lamp for high end Acropora?
it's a great option yes!
Hello Sam, thx
Hey there!
Hi Parker, any review after a year.
Thanks
Afraid not mate, but plenty are running them now and enjoying them :)

@aslamabraham4555 fair enough mate, thank you for the kind words.
Afraid I don’t have a video coming on this light though :(
