It’s a tribute to his parents who both died at a young age. His dad told him that there are no boundaries. The song is about being an orphan, which Joost is himself. That’s why he says ‘Euro-papa’, ‘being alone in Germany’ and ‘Papaoutai’ (dad where are u?) and ends with this sad ending. Grazie Mille, Italia!
Grazie a te. ciao
Dont forget the ''im in italy but still in pain''
Zou willen weten wie zij is. Van sommige andere deelnemers weet ik het.
Greetings from the Netherlands
You seem like a very sweet man! Love from The Netherlands!
Happy hardcore gold from the Netherlands. Empty the brain and just go crazy. Thats what hardcore is about. You are right, just enjoy life. letsgoooo Europe!!
Thank you for your sweet reaction 😊
After Ducan Laurence, Joost Klein is our new nr 1 🇳🇱🇪🇺😛 greets from Amsterdam!!
12 Points to the Netherlands!!!!
Never get tired of working.. Support always y Bro and Sis.
@Gianni Bravo Ska
My sons grew up with Joost in the town Leeuwarden in Friesland. If you're not Dutch you can never understand the humor thats put into this song. But hey, we all feel loss and we all deal with it in our own way.
By happy and en enjoy live....😊😊
Here are the lyrics I found on our Dutch Eurovision site. There are even a few more layers that are almost impossible to convey. Because the double meaning or references some of the Dutch words hold. But it comes a long way 🫶
🇬🇧 There are no limits if you want to make your dreams come true. That is the message of the song Europapa. It’s a tribute to his father and can be described as a mix of nostalgia, melancholy and joy, with the poetic lyrics and catchy beats that Joost is known for across Europe.
Lyrics:
Europe let’s come together!
It’s now or never!
I love you all!
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Visit my friends in France
Or take a long walk to Vienna
I want to leave the Netherlands
But my passport is gone
Fortunately don't need a visa
To be with you
So take the bus to Poland
Or the train to Berlin
I have no money for Paris
So use my imagination
Do you have a euro please
Say "merci" and "please"
I lost everything
Except time
So am travelling every day
For the world is mine
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Eu-ro-pa!
Ich bin in Deutschland
Aber Ich bin so allein
Io sono in Italia
but still I feel pain
Am running from myself
Calling for "help!" all day long
Yes I even give people money
But there is no one to help me
I don't need es-car-gots
Don't need fish 'n chips
Don't need paella, no
I don't even really know what that is
Turn on the radio
I hear Stromae with "Papaoutai"
Won't stop until they say
"Yes, yes, he does that very well ey!"
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Eu-ro-pa!
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa….
Welcome in Europe boy!
At the end of the day
We are all human beings
My father once told me
It's a world without borders
I miss you every day
Is what I secretly whisper
You see dad
I listened to you
Is what I secretly whisper
You see dad
I listened to you
Thanks ciao

The ending so sweet
"Grande qualità di varie generi" > Well said! His song is very difficult to translate because of the many different associations, sure it is a tribute to his father's interpretation that borders only exist in people's minds, and his search of dealing with his grief of having lost both his parents as a kid, but one could make many other different associations. In my opinion, this song is borderline political (immigration, Russia-Ukraine), but not enough to disqualify it, because it could also be just about Europeans and non-Europeans uniting as humans. It's really a masterpiece even without knowing the lyrics that much.
Thanks for info.
Its not political at all, its about him traveling around Europe to find happiness, but everywhere he go he feels alone (because he lost his parents at a very young age) His dad died when he was 13 and his mother a year later.
Grazie❤
Malaysia New Song Before Trending🎉🎉 ❤❤❤😂👍🏻

Translation
Welcome to Europe, I'll stay here until I die.
Europapa.
Refers to papa, the Dutch word for father/dad.
Joost's father taught him that the world has no boundaries and we are all human.
His parents died shortly after each other when Joost was still very small.
Hopefully you will understand more about the song.
Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks
I would more say: 'for living in harmony' as human beings in Europe and the rest of the world. The Schengen area concept 'freddom of movement etc..' is a good attempt to facilitate this, but in the end it is still the people who have to create the harmony, which is not happening automatic.
Nice video! ❤ from The Netherlands
❤
Even Robert Downey junior likes the song❤
his past and pain burn. And now there is a new beginning. If you listen carefully you can hear birds chirping

Your welcome and grazie mille (for your reactions)👍🏻❤️
The dutch gabberhouse style
You have english subtitles to understand also maybe italian
English Translation ---> :"The real scoop (at the end of video) is that Joost Klein's tune isn't about geopolitical fires-it's about the blaze of his own memories, scorched by the loss of his parents at a ypung age. He's just globetrotting through Europe to douse those fiery thoughts. Simple as pie!"
Subtitles are available
He is a Frsian....its about prologing his now dead parents wish for liberly for everyone
It's a tribute to the 90's 00's music, eurodance and happy hardcore pop, I guess that was not something you were familiar with. Other than that, the clip was filled with 'easter eggs'/hints. It might have helped to turn on the subtitles to understand what he was trying to achive with his performance. My reaction to your reaction is, you did not get the references and you were looking for something else which sadly you did not find. Italy has a eurodance history, so I guess it was not in your interest area in the 90's. I think this was a generation after your interest area.
I basically believe that the style of the song, regardless of the period of reference, is substantially irrelevant compared to the artist who showed an idea in music with great charisma and personality. Thanks for the interesting comment.
What is your original language ? Thanks to Automatic Translation I get an English translation of your opinions. Thanks. And although Joost use a very limited amount of dutch words. Please listen to it translated because he masters his (and my) language..
Italiano
Thanks ciao
Ik zeg Netherlands 12 punten
