- "If a man knows the Self as ‘I am this,’ then desiring what and for whose sake will he suffer in the wake of the body?" Based on this verse from the Brihadharanyaka Upanishad (Mantra 4.4.12) and the associated commentary from Vidyaranya Swami (7th Chapter of Panchadasi), Swami Sarvapriyananda provides inspiration and strength to help us cope with these difficult times.
Mantra 4.4.12:
आत्मानं चेद्विजानीयादयमस्मीति पूरुषः ।
किमिच्छन्कस्य कामाय शरीरमनुसंज्वरेत् ॥ १२ ॥
ātmānaṃ cedvijānīyādayamasmīti pūruṣaḥ |

@Greg LeJacques Well infinite is known to infinite. There are infinite examples of such infinity. Like many of us, I believe that Swami Sarvapriyananda is one of them. He knows completely what is he teaching. You are free to ask your doubts in his teaching sessions.

I am intellectually attracted to Vedanta, but emotionally and to the core of my heart I am a son of the Holy Mother Maa Sarada. I know that these two identities actually do not collide with each other. Some illusions are created for the sake of enjoyment. Paranam Maharaj. Its a real happiness listening to the truth from your mouth in these lectures.
Every saint, including Ma Sarada, started as an ordinary person who grew in consciousness through circumstances and inward seeing. We honor them for the example they show us of how the individual grows to the universal. In the final understanding, all these differences and personalities are dreams as compared with actually seeing our true Self for ourselves, in our own experience. Our path starts with hearing a teaching of truth that resonates with us, flowers in effective sadhana, and reaches its goal in Self-obvious Self-realization.
we are lucky to have this Swamiji who echoes the words of swamy Vivekananda in all his speeches. He makes the difficult spiritual terms so simple. May the God give him good health so that many like us novices on the subject would benefit

Yes, any true teaching is marked by simplicity and the ability to be verified and realized in our own experience. There are many true teachers, each one teaching on the basis of knowledge from a lineage or scripture and their own Self-realization. You can recognize them by the fact that they all teach the exact same truth.

Till now vedanta has been my real relief I have not children but vedantic scriptures motivated me and I quit addiction I owe swami sarvaprianda and...thank you Indians you saved one sad man from the people's point of view a rich man 🤣 they don't understand money is not remedy for hopeless soul but vedanta is. But frankly I have problem with after death subjects in vedanta but the rest are great plz tell me how do you feel about after life affairs

The following may help you immensly brother so pls do pay attention ill first share my own experience with fear of death and after i went through a period lastinf maybe a month or two where i suddenly had overwhelming fear of death 24/7 all i could think about was death and the fear of death at nights i started to sweat when i tried to close my eyes to sleep thinking if i die in my sleep body and kind full of absolute fear days passed like this .. Such horror i thought this thing called end of my life my family my personality i suffered immensly it was the most concentrated form of fear i had felt especially while at night in the silent night full of darkness listenig to my own heartbeat and sweating in fear and unable to close my eyes and i dont really remember how i got over it because it wasnt a sudden realisation about death i started to know about sleep since sleep felt like death to me dont be silly to ignore this point i think even swami talks about sleep its like death only difference is that you will wake up after the deep rest so if i remember correctly i saw few videos where sleep was compared to death after some days of thinking i thought myself before this fear of death came sleep was welcomed like a long awaited friend sleep was of the most pleasure after a day of intense activities if you think youll get in everone in the world wait for night time to sleep some buy luxuriois beds pillows for what? "TO DIE" ACTUALLY yes everysingle living creature loves sleep ie loves DEATH since sleep IS DEATH that is in DEEP SLEEP thoughts stop body doesnt move everthing has ceased to exist absolutely still and silent and now take death you actually dont know what death is beacuse to know you have to die first 😂.. But nevertheless lets take what we have you have the idea of what death is its same for everyone body stops thoughts/mind stop eyes are closed everything ceases to exist doesnt it sound similer to our LOVELY SLEEP that we have at night SLEEP/DEATH that we happily wait for to come?? and this is the important part spent time in this chain of thoughts comparing death to simple deep restfull sleep and definitely a major part of unnecessary fear will be eliminated.. Or some people say even youll understand your true self since sleep death and our own SELF is similar in appearence and essence but what do i know this is just my understanding not to believe or disbelieve but to examine just my thoughts if it helps thats will be great if it doesnt thats also great
And yes nothing helped my fear of death not even anyones lectures(even thought lectures of swami sarvapriyananda.. But especiallu sadhguru jaggi vasudev.. And others helped the severe depressiom episode i had which was entirely different 😅)
Now where am i. I dont know! and where am i going? i dont know! and what if death comes for me? i dont know becuase it was just an idea i had because i didn't know death sinceif you have to now an EVENT or a THING you have to be present since i cant even understand sleep 😂 since im absent in sleep ... The idea of death starts to feel silly of me. It has become an imaginary idea just a thought yes just a thought now when one really asks what death is the question itself becomes contradictory to ask a question it has to be clear you have to be specific u mean the end of body and its functions or the end of thoughts then its easier to ask WHAT IS SLEEP? sleep is death a temporary death a deep beautiful rest but im still alive you may ask?? No what you are is ALWAYS IS PRESENT during waking state and during sleep what you think your are (your personality ideas or combination of thoughts and emotions cease entirely during deep sleep) so what you are cannot be the thoughts since what you are cannot and wont cease to exist otherwise if it ceases to exist that cannot be you so brothee i feel the most important questions and answers lies in sleep itself lets says its the OBVIOUS CLUE GOD( if there is one😅) has given to find our true self. Its like a clue on the tip of our nose almost noone pays attention to it since its right infront of our eyes here a quote fits perfectly GOD IS LEELA you may know LEELA means god is playing hide and seek God hides in the most OBVIOUS place but since its soo OBVIOUS everyone overlooks it so theres that...
and right now coming to myself im not realised or found my true self its just my understanding i dont feel like i can FIND my true SELF (i know i tried a loooot)
And i do have my own pyschological dramas in my mind now and then but thats tottally fine i just enjoy the play of this MAGNIFICENT EXISTANCE

@@wolfymt1012 I have always been hung up understanding "Ishwara" conceptually. Everyone's explanations that I've inquired to seemed so diffuse and abstract and I just couldn't "get it." Listening to this particular lecture, when Swami lined up how Ishwara fits into the grand scheme, both as Brahman AND the Atman within me, within the realm of Maya, my head exploded with an, "I GOT IT...I GOT IT!" experience. 🤯
@@StreetSidhe ishwara is non-different from and none other than brahman ,,only that in transactional reality or under influence of MAYA(mayashakthi or prakruthi) which we all are subjected to ,Brahman appears as ishwara (saguna brahman viz vishnu /shiva / shakthi etc. ) and ishwara wields MAYA...at absolute point i.e paramarthika satta (ultimate reality) only brahman alone exists which is our true nature .Knowledge of SELF ( atma vidya ) alone transcends/ releases us from MAYA which is termed mukthi /moksha/liberation and since MAYA being wielded by Ishwara ,to transcend it through knowledge of SELF also possible with the grace of /taking refuge in ishwara..Hari om 🕉..
