The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions & flea markets ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, and on Facebook Marketplace, which fully supports me.

Good job on the Hummels Roger. Remember sitting with my Grandparents and their collection, going through each by each and adding up the values. They were proud of the collection and the sacrifices they made to get them. Same with their Roseville. I'm glad they don't know about today's devaluations.

Fun Day! Lladro can still be good profit even if broken. I bought a Lladro boy playing a flute with a repaired neck and a broken off finger. I was still able to sell it for $39.99 plus $21.60 shipping. If cheap buy in, take a chance. People are willing to have them repaired. As you were talking about Longaberger baskets, I sold one , cha ching!! Your boundless energy and positive attitude is great motivation for me, a just turned 60 year old :). God bless you. Julie

Glad Roger was able to make a nice profit on the Hummels; granted they don't bring the money they used to. My mother's maiden name is Hummel and both her mother and aunts collected the figurines. She always had them out on display and the two pieces I now have in my possession bring back wonderful memories of her.
Love your videos. I met my husband at McDonalds one morning having coffee. We just c started talking and 3 months later we were married. We have now been married for 5 years and are so happy. I was 70 he was 67. Age doesn't matter it can still happen at any age. My h I stand had been dead for 7 years when I met this wonderful man and we fell in love. I tell you now no matter the age it makes you feel young again just like when you were younger and met and fell in love. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. May God Bless you both. Karen, in the Friday goodwill trip, you mentioned taking it easy and enjoying a relaxing thrifting day. I think you should! Outside of your business, you’re facing lots of decisions on your home remodel, reshifting your house to continue operations on your main floor and basement, not to mention whatever wedding details you’re combing through. You’re probably reaching decision fatigue. Give yourself a break in your thrifting (which requires tons of decisions) quotas. Know this is just for a season and you’ll get back to batting 100 in a few months.

I can’t shop with my husband. Even though he is very patient, I always feel more rushed so he’s not waiting long. Sometimes it’s easier to go out alone when the store caters more to what you like.

My nursery/childhood bedroom was Hummel themed. I remember laying in my crib looking at the Hummel prints framed in ivory wood frames on my wall. It’s probably the first early memory I have. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for them. Way to go, Roger! xo

Funny story, my son lives in Florida and we go to estate sales often, at one they had a ton of Hummel’s for $1 each, I told my son that the collector of those would be rolling over in their grave. So sad sometimes
You as well have a great eye, and find profit wherever you go! If he was not a reseller or vice versa perhaps, I feel it would not be as good a fit relationship wise. You both really enjoy it and understand what is involved. As well because you both source different items, you are not in competition with one another.
Yes, the double "L" in "Lladro" is pronounced like a "Y", but there is no "R" in the middled of the word. It's pronounced "YAH-dro", not "YAR-dro". Very sad that the little lamb lost his ear.

Have three of those ceramic trees that I made in 1977! Can’t believe they are popular again!
As you speak into your microphone it frequently produces a very loud "whoosh" and pops into the microphone, which is common when one's mouth is very close to the microphone. I've seen small wind-deflectors that fit over smaller microphones that might improve the sound quality of your videos and reduce this effect.

Hi Karen fun video as always. Thank you for sharing so much that you do. I've been laid up now since the middle of March! It has really sucked! Store is still selling things but I haven't been able to list for a month! So your videos really do brighten my day. In a month I'll be having surgery hopefully then I'll be able to walk again. And watching your video today when you guys were in the car smiling and laughing I couldn't not smile it was just so joyful which is what I need right now personally. 16:39 Ebay is saturated with coffee mugs. Because .. they are easy to find. Every "newbie" seller starts with plush, dishes, Pyrex, coffee mugs, books , games and puzzles. All very very flooded markets . I kinda avoid them unless it's something VERY hyper-specific. I did well with coffee mugs from Broadway shows ..... TV shows and Movies.
The mirror is great! Easy to hang because it is light. Could be painted or gilded!

Just checking in! Thanks so much for all your content. I took a drive out and spent the day thrifting in your area Saturday. It was a great day exposing my girlfriend to the world of thrifting. I made a few really good purchases. I have no special area of expertise, but found cross stitch kits were plentiful and very nicely priced. I took many home. Just sold one tonight, paid up but I did comps. Sold for $30, profit of $18. Thanks for sharing!

That starburst/flower mirror is gorgeous! When I was in grad school, I had a wall in the hallway of small mirrors like that one, different metallics and wood grains and shapes mixed in with my little girl's pics.
Have you made pesto with artichoke hearts? Yum! Love the pasta bowl. The t-shirts are awesome.

I bought a ceramic Xmas tree with base at a yard sale. They assured me it was not broken. ( it was well packed) of course it was damaged in multiple places. So I was able to sell just the base for good money!

I've sold a ceramic tree on offerup for $150❤ It was pretty tall, included the base, & xtra little bulbs. I'd only list online if it was very unique.

I agree with Roger. If it would’ve been 30 years ago, you could take a nice vacation on the Hummels collection that he had. I have about 40 of the figurines and about three Crosstitch Hummels three plates. Dr Lori says that some the plates can go go decent money and that a lot of people count all Hummel’s out to be not very good money but that not true.

Hi Karen, the Blue Ball store looked so dim-I couldn’t stand to shop there even tho it seems to have lots of fluorescent lights above. I notice you pick up and view lots of heavy or delicate dishware but then comment you don’t want to ship that. The lladro figurine would cost tons more than $2.99 if the lamb’s ear wasn’t broken off. Also it wouldn’t be in Goodwill for sale if he still had his ear I’m sure you know! Nobody wants a broken ear even if it is valued brand name! No need to feel bad about it. The best buying bets are clothing-they must be so easy to ship cause non breakable and lightweight. The stores you shop luckily have designer clothing brands. My Goodwill rarely does, if so, it’s too well-worn out and I don’t want it. Unfortunately you really have to work hard to find worthwhile items to sell to make a living at. It’s not as easy as it appears. Risky business! I enjoy watching non the less. Thanks for the adventure.❤

Great job Roger on the Hummel sale!!! I must be demented but I wish you would have bought the Lladro, it broke my heart. If you go back and it’s still there I will by it from you. Other wise, hmm how far is Shillington from my house. Just googled it, 2:23 minutes. I’m up in Northeast PA by Lake Wallenpaupack. We only have 1 Salvation Army and no Goodwill by us, and it’s slim pickings. I do all my really good finding at our local antique and thrift stores. It’s a lovely place, you should google it and take a trip, it’s worth it, as one New Yorker to another. So over the moon for you and Roger!!!!
