I’m not sure if you can get hdmi out of an iPhone, but if you can, then it should be fine. Worked with every hdmi device I threw at it. But for phones I have a video on EpocCam from elgato that lets you do it wirelessly.
Will a camlink work for console connection to a computer too?? And also I have the xbox series x which only has the one HDMI port, what would I have to do?
if you watch the end of the video i show it working with the nintendo switch, should be the same for any console. I would recommend a cheap HDMI splitter so you can split the one hdmi out to the capture card and to the tv/monitor.
@@ChowlbPlays Also would I be able to play music in the background and manage overlays from my computer with the camlink input connected to obs? And have a usb mic connected to my computer which i use as a microphone
Yooooo! I’m still using what I’ve always had. The Sony a6400 into the elgato camlink. I’m always on the lookout for cheap budget streaming solutions to help people out. You and I both know this stuff is far from cheap these days. As it stands now I have my a6400 into an hdmi splitter, that goes to both PCs which each have a camlink (overkill but I like to have the option to record wherever). The stream PC has the Elgato 4K Pro for capturing consoles.
Nice dude!!!! Thanks for making this! Quality looks great! Nice set up!
Whoa you’re still around?!? Haha haven’t heard from you in ages! THE Brandon COOK!!
I’m working with a sub-$20 video capture card from Amazon for my GoPro hero 5 🔥
I get the feeling that the company here is aware of our collective technological naivety 😭
Yes!! Thank you so much for the comment!
How did you connect the Sony 6400 to your computer as the comaprison source?
The elgato camlink 4k.
If I am planning to use my iPhone 12 as my camera, will this cheap camlink still work with it?

@@andreiokuz this would be just like any pro setup with obs. As long as your PC can handle it you can do anything in OBS. Music overlays alerts etc
What were you using before this?
