There you go with some Central and Eastern European Christmas classic: faworki. Leftover pierogi (dumplings) dough is deep-fried in ribbon shape and then eaten either sweet with powdered sugar or seasoned with some garlic and spices. An ideal snack, light enough after all those heavy holiday foods and also practical as it's made with the leftovers.

Personally, I really like deep fried foods... potato chips, fries, pork, chicken... it's all delicious! However, something I am really fond of and order every now and then when I have Chinese is Asian tiger shrimp - deep fried, of course, served with a sweet & sour sace and rice. Love it!

In another life when I did some fishing in kahleefonyah, no one I ever knew or heard of did anything with squid, but use it for bate. By the time I was old enough to discover it as calamari, I fell in love with it.
There's two kinds of onion rings. The first is the sliced onion dipped in batter and fried type. The second is made with chopped onions in batter which poured into a ring and fried. Diners thaty serve them have a device that drops a perfect ring shape in a frying pan with maybe an inch of boiling oil. It's similar to the device they use to drop a perfect silver dollar pancake on a griddle. Both are delicious.

My favorite fried food is called a Panzerotti. They are large pieces of pizza dough stuffed with pizza toppings then deep fried for around 5 minutes. They are so big and filling that most people can only eat half of one.
The fried fish variation that Finland has is absolutely wonderful
It's essentially vendace which are kept whole (since the bones are so soft), then just battered with plain flour and then fried in butter.

RK Love spring rolls are made with a rice flour wrapper and egg rolls are made with a wheat flour wrapper. I don’t know who said it’s a tragedy about deep frying egg rolls, but I live in the UK and spring rolls are fried too. Egg rolls just taste better in my book.
