The camera work in this cast was *chefs kiss* - perfect mix of juicy cinematic shots and keeping track of the battle.
Turin, this had to be one of your very best matches/videos! Very well made, very good camera work. I don't know if people are theorycrafting on how to fix land battles, but I feel like this really came close with the desired experience down on the low ground; it was a very classic clash of two straight armies. However, I feel that any proper, new format for land battles would require no reinforcements since the wearing-down of armies is something that isn't as present in Domination.
I’ve learned first hand how much objectives matter in dom. Multiple times as Bretonnia I’ve completely crushed my enemy in value trading but because I was so focused on the trading I would be constantly double capped until my enemy could just helms deep on one point and win the game that way.
It could also be how Bretonnia just sucks because they’re so easily countered by bringing in a bunch of chaff with spears but you know… I still play them because I love the “Valiant Defeat” screen
Bretonnia are a bit better in the new patch but still one of the weaker factions IMO.
They at least have more time to trade, cycle charge and hit people with trebuchets and flaming arrows though.
You get valiant defeats in dom? I only get close victories or close defeats.
This was awesome! Love seeing Kislev, and your cast and camera work was perfect. Love the mix of cinematic zoom ins while still keeping track of the battle.

It hasn't done enough since WH 1.
Unit card now showing damage dealt as a value is an awesome thing, but this game is a good showing of the fact that it isn't everything. You need someone to buzzsaw those tens of thousands of zombie/skeleton HP even if it's a thankless job and some units won't accumulate much value cause the other player knows how threatening they are and commits their elite units to handle before they become a true menace.
Great game! Really nice that you show the reinforcement stat screen aswell, easy to forget. And just a casual quick hovering over units for their gold value while you are having the post match breakdown would be cool. We seem to have the same favourite factions, its that gunpowder, explosions and smoke together with having flexible and diverse rosters I think.
Love to see Kislev, they've quickly become one of my favorites from WH3. Especially love seeing a build using Ice Guard (one of their coolest units imo) and the Tzarina!

Great match! I love the Iceguard play. I've always felt they were a really underrated unit, really solid, with good shooting and fighting abilities, capable of standing their ground against all the units that are generally used to disrupt archers (dual weapons version especially can defeat hounds and even furies).
I guess they're not popular because people would rather just spam more Kossars instead? Which is a shame honestly.
They're a super awkward unit for the price point. Basically a crossbow with better accuracy and a halberd unit in one neither of which is anywhere near worth the asking price (dual axes are like a high elf range combined with a crossbow). If you're against a faction where both non-ap missiles and halberds are good like the counts they perform okay but they either need better shooting or better melee stats to shine outside of optimal circumstances. Personally I'd love to see them get some extra range so they don't get counter shot so easily.
It'd be cool if the next empire DLC gives them Reiksguard foot troops or Teutogen guard, they have plenty of elite heavy infantry lorewise for CA to choose from
I do feel like Empire needs their Middenland Units to be complete and have the tools to truly compete in MP. Teutogen Guard and Knights of the White Wolf would give them some better AP infantry and cheaper, higher entity count AP cavalry.
God its annoying that vampires on the ground are so slow! In tabletop they were almost cavalry fast, and seeing Vlad, even though he is old as father time himself, waddle after Katarins silly ice skating animation kind of grinds my gears.

nice to see one of my favorite warhammer 3 factions get some play
can you do a video on how to balance your army selection? i think it would make content as we don't often get the context or see the process of what your picking or why. also a good explanation of how to manage the cost spread of your roster. domination is so different from land battles and if you focus on higher quality units you might not ever have the time or resources to actually get them into the action. maybe a by faction go for these units and then a situational match up type thing where this unit might not commonly be used or even be their best pick but against such and such faction it's good to take along.
A new patch is less than a fortnight away and such a guide would be extremely time-consuming to make, just for one faction you are talking about 23 possible match-ups.
it kinda seemed like the counts could've used a cavalry unit like black knights to pressure the backline or rear-charge units.
I like seeing ice guard in multiplayer.
No joke I had two ice guard. Was able to use most ammo on to high tier demon units like a great unclean one.
The player forfeited quickly after losing it early in game
It might be kind of cool to have some type of equalizer effect if one player gets way ahead in Domination. Like if one player owns all 3 points for 10-15 seconds, the other player gets to spawn in their units with 1 free chevron. Which can stack if the triple caps goes on for longer.
They used to have this but got rid of it because it was overpowered. The old rule allowed the losing player to get more reinforcement currency as a comeback mechanic, but it insetivised players to not capture and get a lead because then they would be playing at a disadvantage the rest of the game
I am so happy that Kislev infantry-heavy builds are finally good.
What I love about the vampire counts, is how simple they are. By eliminating the ability to use ranged attacks, or arty, Theres nothing to protect or worry about watching besides your lord. Units don't rout, leadership be damned. Hence why the skaven suck honestly they have all those weaknesses. You really gotta be active to use them. Where as on vamps, you can just throw some zombies that way and forget
Just watched Okoii's spirited attempt at the current tourny.. really put in perspective how dominant turin is.

Kislev just needs some cheaper staying/killing power like the Tzar guard who have a great weapon and sheild variant. A cheaper unit with that option, obviously not being as good as the Tzar, would help Kislev I think

Kislevs 2 main problems is
1) their elite (TG and IG) is to overpriced. Just look at warriors of chaos compared to TG, and at empire crossbowman compared to IG.
2) Only one competitive scool of magic which have too overpriced spells.
For example kislevs spirit lich vorse than regular . The heart of winter need a lot of time pay by himself and cost a lot its just worse than some pit of shades burning heads and so on. And ice sheet should have more sloving ( up to 30). Ice blades should be able to cast in area. So now only usefull magic is ise sheet in combination with ice maiden kiss. And sometimes ice sanctuary to save some unit i think maybe not overcasted wersion should have about 30 Ward save for 20-25 sec but should not immobilize unit.

That is a campaign only bug. Any healing cap increases are broken right now and increase it by like a 100 times more than they should, multiplayer doesn't have any of those.
I think you can get away with no shields because of the lack of missiles in vampires is little grom viable against vampires I wonder
The advantage of shielded Tzar Guard against vampires is their higher melee defense, which against a lot of the low melee attack zombies and skeletons keeps them from being hit often enough to be worth it if you just want them holding the line.
I kept hearing that ice guard weren't worth the cost. What changed?

Thing is they're currently not an underdog faction like Kislev, Dwarfs and Empire are so it's unlikely in the current build. He did play them more frequently before the current build, for obvious reasons.

Those mods showing enemy winds of magic and stuff are verging on dodgy. Still a fun game though.
