welcome to our Sunday league mate most of us play with bad hangovers from having a skin full in the pub the night before and yes we can deffo do some hard tackles but yeah most times the ref just gives us yellow cards i play as a goalie for my local pub
I'm a new sub, love your channel. Tyler, could you please do a video on "Tall goalkeepers vs. shorter goalkeepers"? My 12 yr. old son is just learning the position, and gets a bit intimidated when he sees how tall most pro GK's are. Maybe some things that smaller stature guys need to work on more than taller guys. Thanks!
Hey man, at 12 he shouldn't be worrying about height at all. Just focus on the building up the basics. As he gets older and stops growing that's when you might start tailoring your play style to fit best with your height.
@@GKGOLUREMI Hi Tyler! The reason for my comment is that I am only 5' 9", however, so, my son will never be as tall as a guy like you (6 ft. plus). How do I communicate to him that he doesn't have to be as tall as Manuel Neuer to be a good GK? I love Jasper Schmichael, watch him a lot, but my son thinks they are all "bigs." Also, any vertical jump training techniques you could recommend for kids? BTW, Love your channel, I hope you get a new contract from someone, somewhere, I know it's a torturous grind to pursue a dream, no one ever sees the sacrifice and struggle. God bless.
@@nightwolf2666 Gotcha. Yeah, he really shouldn't be stressing about the long term yet anyways. But for shorter gk's they usually need to be smart (know how to read the game), have really good feet, and really safe hands. And of course have a good vertical and reactions. I have one video for improving your vertical than I'll put a link at the end for. But for me as a kid I improved my vertical by just playing a lot of basketball. And luckily I'm currently under contract in Croatia's second tier. But we will see where I end up over the summer. ruclips.net/video/vDqYxJGoHuM/видео.html&ab_channel=GKGOLUREMI
My son is 13 and a goalkeeper for his middle school team. He has one year left to play MS soccer. He's 5'2" and does surprisingly well. He wasn't quite that tall last year and he made a lot of great saves. This was due more to technique and reading the plays than his height. This is the 3rd year that he's played the keeper position. The first year he played keeper, he won the starting job after one game. Twice (one indoor and his MS soccer team) he won the starting goalkeeper job after one practice. The indoor league, his coach came to me and said she would leave it up to him if he ever wanted to play out of the net. As for his middle school, they do some practices with the high school girl's team in June. Their coach came to me more than once to tell me how well she thought he plays. Her husband is the boy's high school coach, so I'm sure she's mentioned it to him, plus they've both watched him play a game or two. I actually do keeper drills with him 5-6 days/week until the middle school sessions start. We still do drills throughout the season, although less when the season starts as he has 2 games/week and 2 practices/week. This channel came up as a suggestion when I started looking into helping him improve. I can say that he uses the techniques that Tyler makes videos for and they have helped his game tremendously.
The goalkeeper at 3:33 falls because of a well-hidden elbow to the stomach. Take a closer look and see how the attacker holds his hands and stops in front of him and then, push his elbow against the goalie, slightly but violently. It wasn't a flop. It was a red for the attacker!
i dont agree with you fully, attacker did keep hes arms in and elbow bit outward but it was more a turn of the body then hit with a elbow, goalie fell yes but also tried to sell it bit to.
The worse is when attackers come slide tackling into a ball you fielding as a keeper, studs up. I have gotten kicked in the head, and no cards were given. It’s why I do not play anywhere near as much recreational league as I used to.
Sunday league referees are a joke, got my ankle broken and was out for 5 months, the player didn't get a card and it was a freekick for them. Keep in mind I had possession of the ball.
You still need to make a play on the ball when checking someone with your shoulder. You can't just come in after they already got the ball off their feet and lay them out. And you especially can't come that late in a simple men's league game and send them into the bleachers.
@@GKGOLUREMI Yh your right but if u watch the clip again u can see he went in for the tackle just before so he couldn’t stop the contact , at least he checked if the players alright tho the others just walked off 😂
A lot of these tackles aren't even that bad! ive seen a lot worse in person. A lot of these tackles should be just a warning or yellow at worse! u have one of these tackles in england in a sunday league match u would have everyone clapping saying "its a good tackle" Americans are just so soft when it comes to football/soccer!
The guy who made this video has spent the past two years playing in the balkans. Not really one of the American's I think you can go around calling "soft".
I bet everyone probably has some clips like this from their games it would be cool if we sent videos in for you to react to

Amazing vid I love it keep it up
thanks for all your vids!!
The intro with my red and white cubes

Red for both
i dont agree with you fully, attacker did keep hes arms in and elbow bit outward but it was more a turn of the body then hit with a elbow, goalie fell yes but also tried to sell it bit to.
As a goalkeeper, the referee probably forgets about the foul because this idiot just keeps hitting him and chasing after him like he wants to maim him
Many or some* in Sunday league try to make us look bad. 😬
Keep making videos often great video
Good videos as Always😁

do you still play?
@@dayoki8091 Yep, injury was last summer. Current season just started on Sunday, hoping for an injury free season.
@@brianliu4200 oh nice, hope you dont get injured again
2:37 I'm pretty sure 5 hit the ball into the red's leg and 5's foot sorta bounced, i dont think he went for the kids leg
This is awesome
6:10 merely touching the ball first is irrelevant. The challenge was careless and wreckless. Foul.
It’s irrelevant unless you want to play soccer by the rules. Then that is not a foul. *Intense sarcasm warning*
Opinion on Gabriel Slonina (From a Chicagoian)
That second one ain’t a red he shoulder barges him and he lands in the bench
Games gon soft

Great Video
I thought it was gonna be like bones sticking out
You look like Sergio Romero
A red for shoulder barging in to a bench that wouldn’t even be a yellow
A hockey tackle
First . Awesome video
Second tackle was a yellow
Nice vid
Won the ball
Lol. I got my ankle broken this summer and it wasn't even a foul. Or the worst injury of the game
Ok one year later and nobody has asked yet, but I’m going to ask, what was the worst injury
@@Vinpenny14 two guys butted heads and split them open. Ambulances were called

question: why is your channel name GK GOLUREMI?
Goluremi is the parent Chanel and Gk is for goalkeeper
@Conscious Pennies it’s the name of the parent Chanel. Remi is the guy’s name don’t really know what golu is
Second isn't even bad fair challenge just shoulder barges him. Why are seats so close you can run into them
Yeah. But the seats are there aren't they? The ball is gone, he pushes with the arm. He's just upset he didn't get body position 2 sec earlier.
