Full of optimism, hope, excitement and happiness, and the yearning to explore space and the unknown realm… what a streamlined craft, and how beautifully it just glides across!!!. This is perfectly doable even now and how sleek it would be even now!!. Lovely!!.. enjoyed watching it!!!. And listening too!!!

Ходил на него два (а то и три) раза, мне было уже 18, но душевность и спецеэффекты цепляли. Помню, мне тогда очень понравился отсыл к 1978 году - фризби, музыка с песней Траволты из "Grease" (моё детство на рубеже 70-80 проходило под эти же знаковые аттрибуты...) Фильм 1986 года, но уже применили CGI для создания реалистичного объекта, что тогда ещё было редкостью (эффекты для фильма вроде ILM делали)

This is alot like some real UFO encounters. For instance the Pascagoula abduction there was a thing that came out of the wall of the ship that looked like a big eye ball that scanned the man's body. I feel like the makers of this movie knew alot. Beyond that I watched this as a kid. Nostalgia.
Nicely done! Lots of atmospheric visuals, and the finale works really well with the calm, blissful ending of the song. An added bonus is the movie chosen -- another one of those 80's classics I've been meaning to see.
Cheesiness is a given, and I think I actually prefer something tongue-in-cheek to some of the sci-fi today that takes itself way too seriously. In that respect the 80's definitely deliver. Plenty of campy and yet poignant movies. Aside from the classics I love a few more obscure titles, such as Cherry 2000, The Stuff or Electric Dreams.
