Best Sciencefiction movie ever made. Spielberg is really one of a kind. And this movie is from 1977. It's still one of the best.
Based on real events.
@ohmaramusic yeah I know, that makes it even more special.😉👍
What was seen in New Jersey were not drones
@@person-ie4px How do you know🤔
@@BIGeSTRING Because they always want to hide it, that's why they said they were drones, drones are not that big, and those lights were much bigger than a simple drone, and the height was too high for a drone.
It was one of the most magical moments in cinema for me... the night, the sound...and the ship !!
What was seen in New Jersey were not drones
Ever since I first saw it in the cinema when I was 7, it has inspired my faith that we are never alone in the universe.
This is history. We will never again have movies with stories as imaginative as this.
Looks like it's happening now
Its not imagination. Most of the story plot was taken directly from the project blue book files.
What was seen in New Jersey were not drones
Isso vai ser real aguarde
True
My dad showed me this back when I was 5 or 6. It permanently had me obsessed with the film. Today I'm 18 and it's still in my opinion one of the best films to ever depict UFOs in such a unique way. You can tell how simple it is, yet how passionate they really were about it. Steven Spielberg is perfect when it comes to alien movies.
The great thing is, it is partially based on UFO reports and the expertise of some of the leading UFOlogists such as Dr. Jaques Valle, who was hired as the technical consultant for the film.
I too saw this film, then got hooked on space sciences and went on to work on the Shuttle program as a 27 year old. I met an astronaut... I wish they had continued the Shuttle program.
@@alexisvan222 yea I know! Stevem Spielberg even had a cameo of Dr. J. Allen Hynek who worked in Project Bluebook. He's seen towards the end of the film smoking on his pipe while observing the mothership with everyone else. Steven hit it outta the park
@@alexisvan222 Wow!! That's really cool man! I love space travel and spacecraft. Currently majoring in aeronautics, but might wanna do aerospace engineering as well. Idk, I know it isn't easy, but I love space and vehicles in general
I saw this in the cinema back in the day and watched it several times on DVD, a terrific movie
😊cool
Same here,my dad took me.
Became my most favorite movie of all time.
Still to this day a fantastic movie.
Quality has no age.
@@j.w.r3730 You must have been quite young, a good experience watching with your dad. I was about 24-25 at the time. I have been lucky enough to have watched several movies at the cinema that are now considered classics - Star Wars, alien and terminator etc. One particular memory I have is of my parents taking me
to see the Movie version of Doctor Who and the Daleks.
Definitely here after all that's been happening in and over New Jersey!!
Same reason I'm here lol
I came here after watching Dre OG Reacts channel.
I heard this was based on true events one of my favourite movies of all time well done Steven spielberg a genius
I was 12 seeing this in a theatre. The sound was absolutely incredible.
One of the best movies made
Still a mind blowing spectacle nearly 50 years later. My friends and I waited on a very long one night in the cold to see this movie. Afterwards nobody spoke. We just gave each other blank stares .
My aunt took me to see this beautiful movie, when I was four years old and saw it again when I was fourteen
I saw this at the drive in movies. Everyone was glue to the movie it was different than any other movies we ever seen it was breath taking especially the technology of the special effect.
❤ movie and saw it in theaters in 1977 with my mom. She went and bought the soundtrack album afterwards. NOW WE ARE REALLY SEEING THIS IS TRUE 2025
My brother took me to the theater for this movie.
The soundsystem was AMAZING!
If they ever bring it back to the big screen you gotta go!
Whos here after the ufo sightings over New Jersey
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
Meeeeer!
Yall were swindled, too. Just FAA nuts looking at each other.
In this video CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THREE KIND,I remember when I 1st watched this movie and I was glued to my seat because I had never seen a movie, much less this scene in my entire life, and when I watched how they were trying to communicate with the ship,I suddenly realized that music, or the different tones used is actually a different language that I never thought about using, like when kid's can't talk, they are taught how to use sign language with their hands, which really astonished me, and the better they get, the faster they get, and it's very interesting what actually is going through there brain, it's like a person who is in a COMA,can't talk but they are listening, very good video/movie, it taught me a lot about transmission of information, the different forms that is.
I’m 73. And so darn fortunate to have met to meet one of them very very kind indeed! That’s no 💩
RIP Phil Dodds, the gentleman playing the synthesizer...
I’ve seen this clip dozens of times and when those three ships respond it gets me every time.
Thank Mr.Spielburg.
When the Drone Mothership arrives in New Jersey. 😅😅😅
The arrival of the mother ship was truly SPECTACULAR brilliant.
What was seen in New Jersey were not drones
What a year that was,I was 13 in Colorado when I saw this, and it just confirmed what many of us were seeing in the skies that year as possible.
Why it has been, and will always be my favorite movie,it was closer to some truths than any of us knew.
These are same Drones over NJ. They have arrived again!
In my life time.i welcome them
After so many years I noticed static shadows... Never saw it when I was a kid :)
One of the absolute BEST films to depict the mystery and fascination with UFOs and the extra terrestrials who pilot them through the night skies! Spielberg captured the wonder, the forboding, the uncertainty and the driving obsession with these other-worldly visitors and their interplanetary conveyances with remarkable realism and magnificence! No other iconic film vehicle can equal the spectacle and grandeur of the gigantic Mothership rising up behind Devil's Tower !
This movie showed us that we are not alone in the universe
It’s already here ❤️
That chord when the three ships respond… 😢😢😢
We still watch it at least twice a year.
日本での特別編を数回見に行ったが実によくできてるし音楽の良さにほれぼれ。
We don't talk enough about how Lance Henriksen was In a lot of important movies.
I thought that was him!
Just like Terminator and Aliens.
As was Bob Balaban..
The aliens definitely do not communicate with tubers 😂
This movie, Jaws and Saturday Night Fever all came out about the same time.
1977/78 movies were amazing
They have not got there as yet 2025
Beautiful work by Steven Spielberg.
Remember when Hollywood made actual good movies?
I can see it now--if this were to happen today: every single worker there...pausing to take selfies w/the mothership in the background...
Aren't selphies a "See ME" drag?
😂❤
5:20 Guy with the flat camera. Closest thing we had then.
the communication theme stays in my head since my childhood
This is how the nj ufos look!
What happened to the clouds?? One moment there's clouds everywhere, the next its a clear night sky!
Has anyone made mountains out of mashed potatoes in New Jersey?
I'm asking for a friend
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind is my 5th favorite movie directed by Steven Spielberg (behind E.T., Jaws, Ready Player One and Indiana Jones 3)
An incredible movie experience back in the day.... still great to visit today....🤙♥️🤗🤪🙂👍🤣😀😄🤙🤙🤙
It's happening. They're here look to the sky first the east then the west and then the whole world
Best movie ever
EPIC no commentary commentry!!!! Peace-godspeed
Que cosa mas curiosa, que los drones que se estan viendo en USA hace dos meses sean casi EXACTAMENTE IGUALES a los ovnis que se ven en esta pelicula, que es de 1977.......
Barry's mom, is Elliot's mom in E.T.
No, she is not. The mother in "E.T." was actress Dee Wallace (Stone). Barry Guiler's mom in CE3K was actress Melinda Dillon.
Once you find out this movies was based off real life events that happend the alien ships and aliens described straight out of project blue book and other top secret documents that released. They took real eye witness testimonies and made a movie
The decision to make the ships so pretty was a great idea
Fantastic
This is a documentary not a movie....trust me.
Spoiler alert for 2024/2025
i always thought it was a documentary
I don't trust you or anyone you know.
nobody noticed the colors are the same of new jersey UFOs ... ehm .... sorry i mean "drones"?
So the bit of the mother ship that touches the ground is one of the long probes ?
It rotates on its axis and i guess one of the long probe things is what lands ??
Never understood the physics of the scene
I remember on vacation and being so disappointed that there was nothing in behind the Devils Tower
❤❤❤❤ The best period..
Run earthlings run 😂
Now, we live this scene every day in the waning days of 2024 all over the world!!
My first film at the cinéma,I was 8 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What was seen in New Jersey were not drones
I had read that John Williams intended the motiif to be an ambiguous melody, where you could never really find a tonal center. Thus, it's a medley that sort of "has no key." // But after all of these years, and even after just finishing my spoof film "Close Encounters of the FRANK kind," only know am hearing the revelation of what key it's in. There is the "drone", with the sort of open 5th above it. So, the key if F. Pastoral. The open key of change. Or F# (a darker green). (My piano is tuned to A432hz, so I'm not sure if it's F or F#).
Dammit, why arent the comments from 1977!
One guess.
Merry Christmas
Its been a long time sence i saw that movie.
MATERSHIP BOAT😂❤❤❤
And Dad said my music degree would never be worth shit.
In my final comment of this movie, I remember when during WW2, Hitler was obsessed with the supernatural, like watching RAIDERS OF THE LAST ARK,where Hitlers were sent on a top-secret mission to find where the GOLDEN GOBLET was,but he also believed in other beings must smarter and stronger than humans ,a much more advanced technology than ourselves, but in another movie Aliens couldn't adapt to breathing Oxygen, as they breath another type of gas,and plants take our oxygen and turn into Hydrogen, all living beings on earth breathe Oxygen, that's what makes Earth so unique, that's what NASA is looking for. From Mars and beyond, straight into the Galaxy with probes, manned from humans, scientists have come from now where, to the present in 2024,soon 2025.
❤😊😊great movie
Those drones are as big as suv's...lol
Orbs and uap on new jersey are similar to those on the movie
Documentary this bros
Pois eu sonho com esse acontecimento maravilhoso.
Isn’t that the mom from A Christmas Story? I wish Ralphie would show up with his red rider carbine-action range model air rifle.
You are correct. Melinda Dillon.
Melinda just passed this year and yes. So did Terri Garr.
小4の頃 劇場で観たけど 闇夜をUFOが次々と飛んでくる 姿には 呆然とし 圧倒された
Not a cell phone in sight
But that one guy with his instimatic 110 camera...
**literal aliens touching down**
At least they don't have cell phones.
We know who owns Hollywood and aliens and the screens and that sort of thing. Who owns YT? Ah, same people, same ole game, same ole game.
For anyone thinking this is what's going on right now you're probably correct the bigger ships will be here in January
Too many 9/11 coincidences in movies 🍿🥤. We are being entertained, but at the same time notice and Overstand what you are seeing. For the Most High 🕯️🛐❤️🔥⚛️ thanks to be that we can see, I consider I own nothing, for everything is a privilege by your power.
That woman with Richard Dreyfus looks like a basket 🧺 case lol 😂
So you can communicate with a UFO through sounds of music
Remember, this really happened
So you know.
That was the year,too.
Definetely not one of ours. !
LOVE MUZIK ALIEN SCENE😂❤❤❤
👍
There are plenty of them… Prometheus?
New Jersey 2025
Does anyone know what they were actually saying in that musical code
Nothing till they build up the "language" later in the scene. They must have been listening to the totality of the radio signal earth emits - most of what you hear on a radio is music, really very little speech.
The first few tones played were the sounds that the craft made at various places around the globe such as the Mexican desert with the WW2 airplanes and India where the people were gathered singing the tones. But I don't know what the tones mean.
"Hello, we've been trying to reach you about your spaceship's extended warranty"
Não apareceu a melhor parte, quando os et's respondem com as mesmas notas.
This is a perfect movie. I will fight you all.
Today, conspiracy theory idiots would be all over this. Back then, it was magical.
Its the rapture of the chosen ones 😂.
That maybe true.
😂❤❤❤
Belle effet miroir, mais la technologie, alien,s arretes au verre sentin!

Where are the smartphones recording it?
I presume you are joking, in case you are not mobile phones did not exist at the time this movie was made.
@@nigelmorse3909 isn’t scenes are more beautiful (even more in real life) without anyone recording things in smartphones
Someone did have a 110 camera.
