for real if you guys just rewatch this movie you will see how weird some things are it just doesn't make sense HE IS IN THE ATTIC OF THE SCHOOL DURING A STORM. THE DAD EATS RAW EGGS FOR BREAKFAST. THE PRE-TEEN PRINCESS LIVES IN A FERTILITY FLOWER.
My favorite line i noticed as an adult, Bastion screaming at his book "But I have to keep my feet on the ground!" after skipping class ALL DAY, hiding out in the attic OF THE SCHOOL, continuing to stay there after school and into the night, staying there during a fierce thunderstorm BY HIMSELF IN THE ATTIC, running around numerous times after reading dramatic parts, screaming at the book numerous times....but he can't give the Empress a new name because he "has to keep his feet on the ground". because his father scolded him that morning for not paying attention in class. This coming from a father who's breakfast is a cracked egg blended in orange juice. WTF IS UP WITH THIS FAMILY THE MOM WAS NAMED MOON CHILD THAT IS WHERE HE GOT THE NAME. and somehow...Bastian is even MORE lame in the sequel.
every time a new child reads the book, a new dimension is formed, a new Fantasia in a parallel Fantansia universe. some kids don't name the child and that world ends and the child grows up to have serious issues. other kids scream "MOON CHILD" out the window of their school's attic at 10pm during a severe thunderstorm, and grow up to be world leaders. Just gotta keep your feet on the ground!
