Hi Colin I hope you read this, I have been your subscriber for a long time, years now, I loved how you teach editing in premier pro, I have learned a lot from you, the only thing I ask is don't fall into this adobe corporate vs people fight, don't think that the people are stupid, you don't have to defend the corporate, it's the subscriber who got you here so far, it's the viewer and admirer who watches your videos don't let them go away by doing such controversial videos, I am very dissipated at you, really wish you read this ❤

Very interesting that you explain legal things even though you say you are not a lawyer. The fact that it is even necessary to explain terms and conditions to stupid users is quite a thing, you may even be doing it on behalf of Adobe.
Adobe is forcing every stupid user to accept the terms and conditions, even though they obviously know that nobody understands them except lawyers.
But it's not just Adobe, it's all the big techs.

What's more funny is that you explained that but the terms are designed to be interpreted differently based on the situation legally.

Yes, of course we own our content, but Adobe assumes a sublicense, which is entirely the problem. If you do not discuss this explicitly then there is no point to speaking. Do we really need someone outside of Adobe to explain what adobe means. Perhaps if you were a lawyer it might be more plausible.
Why wouldn’t Adobe explain all this from the beginning?

I’m not a lawyer but already figured out that this was not what the outrage gurus were screaming! Thanks for doing this video. It was a great day for Adobe wannabes though. I tried, for example, Resolve. Not even close to Adobe for so many reasons. Again, thanks for bringing the voice of reason.

Resolve is used by Hollywood Studies and will be the standard software. If you have tried enough I think you will have said otherwise. I have used Adobe since nearly the beginning. But now for 5 years i have used Davinci Resolve Studio and Capture One to all my documentaries and corporate works.

Adobe OWNS everything you create when you use their “tools” and they can do this - like Apple, Microsoft, Google - because it’s stored on THEIR “cloud” there is NO right to “ownership” because ALL three of those corporations have turned over your PI dat to the government upon mere request w/o notification to you! There are court cases on all these events and none have received the definitive Supreme Court decision to re-affirm our 1st and 4th amendment rights.
T-Mobile just joined these three (now four companies) and their wording is “hate speech” which can be ANYTHING the corporation deems applicable in any future circumstances… as of January 1st 2024

So… Adobe need to access my content to allow me to open Photoshop. And that has to be stipulated in the contract. Great. If this is a new addition to the contract, then prior to that, Adobe accessed my content without my consent? Just wondering. That’s a first. Then, lawyers speak a different language. Agreed. But when in court, you discover that all those little things you explained in plain english (not legaleese), and you laughed, have, in fact, another meaning, a little bit different. One that, in the end, could make you cry. (from my experience, never thrust a lawyer working for the other part, not even when you are a lawyer :).

Nice gaslighting by just mentioning the harmless use cases and concealing the crucial possibilities.
It's like giving your car keys to a guy who claims he only needs the access to be able to drive it into your garage.
When the guy runs away with your car, you legally have no chance because you gave him the keys.

With you not being a lawyer, I will not take your word for or believe your interpretations. With this having gone to a federal lawsuit, there is definitely a problem you are skipping over.

    • @LarryK-jg6iw
      @LarryK-jg6iw 16 дней назад +1

I've just read the federal lawsuit. You should, too. It's very easy to understand. The Federal Trade Commission is suing Adobe for its alleged illegally complicated and confusing subscription contract for Creative Cloud services. This may very well have been brought on by the rash of cancellation attempts and the application of "Early Termination Fees" ( ETF) inspired by subscribers reacting to the "new" terms of service implemented by Adobe with regard to certain content being used for research and product improvement in the field of artificial intelligence, among others. The point is, the FTC lawsuit HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH USER CONTENT OWNERSHIP OR ADOBE'S CHANGES TO ITS TERMS OF SERVICE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUES COLLIN IS ADDRESSING IN THIS VIDEO. If Collin is "skipping over" the FTC lawsuit, it's simply because the lawsuit is in NO WAY related to the PRIMARY issue of why people are running around shooting flaming arrows at Adobe as if their own hair was on fire. There are two very different things going on here. Try to understand at least one of them.

I'm about to leave the ship for good, after thinking about it for many years now. The fact that they removed de Fx label color in premiere 2024 🤦 Now you don't know what clip has what effect on it... I'm done with them, enough is enough. I want stability, i'm done having to find workaround all the time. I'm done having to render and re render and re re re render everything all the time. And I want to save money too.
I'd love a video from you : How to completely remove Adobe from your system, because the files are all over the place. I think I will even reinstall my whole system after I cancel my subscription.

Actually, the original terms was different. And even if they do not scan our hard drive, they scan our system. By the way, the government sued Adobe because of their unfair cancellation policy - which is a fact - and not because of legal rights. Adobe makes pretty good softwares, industry standard and all but they behave as if they were masters on us, slaves. For instance they are aware of many inconsistency amongst Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, After Effects but they insist on these silly things. They change their softwares and ignore the customers. And so on. The software giant could be the best thing in computer world but of course, their greed and imperialism destroy everything. Normal human...

At last some common sense. Despite some of the nonsensical comments here. Sick of RUclipsrs jumping on a bandwagon that thinks it, at last, has found an excuse to bash a hugely successful - and talented - software firm. The amount of hypocrisy I’ve seen on YT over this doesn’t surprise me, however. If you don’t like the TOS, don’t agree to it and go take your business elsewhere. Simple. As I’ve said elsewhere, if I ran a business where there was risk of the public uploading child pornography to MY servers, I’d want the right to interrogate my drives. University of RUclips versus trained lawyers. I rest my case.
