  • In this video I'll look at the New Jackery 100 Plus power station and compare it to my Jackery 240, a small thin Belkin power station in addition to an older HiLucky power station with a small solar panel.

I followed over from your other video where you showed off charging the unit with solar power. I had an issue of always having my usb-c solar charging get disconntected/stopped at some point, requiring me to unplug/replug in to get. I mentioned in the other video that it doesn't seem to happen if I charge the unit via two panels at the same time (via both ports). Not always handy to do.
I thought about things a bit more today and realized a better idea would be to plug the solar panel directly into my Jackery 300 and then plug this into the 300 via the car adapter. I tried it out today and in a just a few hours (2 hours) I was able to get my Jackery unit topped up from 80% to 100% and my jackery 100 unit topped up from 66% to 100% without any disconnections. All while charging two usb-a devices off the jackery 300 at the same time.
On the topic of pluggig in the Jackery 100 into the Jackery 300, I noticed before, and was not able to resolve, if I plug the Jackery 100 in via usb-c on the Jackery 300, it actually draws the power from the Jackery 100 into the Jackery 300. Very odd behaviour and I don't know what triggers this. I tried many times unplugging and replugging in, toggling on/off the dc usb on the jackery 300. As soon as I have the jackery 100 plugged into the Jackery 300 via usb-c it always wants to charge the 300 with the 100. When I do the same via plugging into the Jackery 300 car port and a dc-to-usb adapter into the Jackery 100, it charges the Jackery 100 with the Jackery 300 (as desired) including "solar charging passthrough".
So, the nuts of it, everything is good now, at least for me, as I always have my Jackery 300 handy and I prefer to use it for plugging in my solar panels and then my devices to charge or passthrough charge into the Jackery 300.

Great surprise to see your review video on the 100+! Thanks for the review/video!!
It answered some questions I had been wondering about.
I agree, the 40W panel is the one to use. Jackery should sell it separately at a reasonable price.

I linke the 240 (I have two of them), but as a little unit I‘m preferring the Goal Zero Sherpa 100 AC. For more bucks you get many more functionality. Two USB-C, two USB-A and the highlights are the MPPT solar charge controller and the little AC inverter. The Sherpa is a powerbank deluxe or name it powerstation en minor 😃

Yeah, the goal zero looks like a nice alternative, and it does have an AC output, but twice the price. That makes it a tough decision.

I feel like this is such an unfair review. You are basically comparing Apples to Oranges here.
    - Jackery uses LiFEPO4 batteries here that have triple the charge count (3000 vs 500) as compared to a Lithium Polymer battery which is what the two other Power Banks have that you showed. LiFEPO4 has less capacity per cubic unit cmopared to a polymer battery but has higher charging count and less overheating issues under stress.
    - Jackery has 6 different damage protections and an electronically switched transformer inside that prevents the unit from certain failures, including temperature overheating.
    - That display you see on Jackery but not on the other power banks? That's because its able to show you that info due to a built in microcontroller that can measure Volts, Amps etc. It also is able to gauge what's the max power that can be delivered to a device. Its part of the USB 3.0 power delivery standard.
    - Its designed for travelling as that 99Wh limit is just 1 shy of the 100Wh battery that you can take on a plane. Its the only Jackery product that can be taken on a plane.
    - The best use case of this power station is either travel or to go to a remote site where you have to stay for 10-12 hours and then return back to a place where you can charge this device again for another day.

Hi Manny, not sure if you had watched the whole video, but I did point out most of what you had listed above. In addition, yeah, it's just under the reporting watt capacity for most domestic airlines , but that's just for "checked in" luggage.
You can "carry on" up to (2) 160 Wh batteries if you are bringing them on as "carry on luggage".
Moving on the charge cycle estimate is advertised as 2,000 cycles (As shown in video).
That being said, I would add that the Jackery 100 plus would be pretty handy to charge a few gopro batteries if you are traveling to film in a remote location with just a backpack, minimum supplies, and a solar panel - it's easier to manage charging that than a few power banks.
Thanks for watching in addition to your feedback!

The only benefit of this jackery is a new type of battery. But certainly, who need it for powerbank? This is just a bad powerbank. If I need 100w from type-c, I would prefer a much portable baseus blade.

Useless huge display, too bulky, expensive. So what about pros 🤔 LiFePo4 batteries , that’s all 🤷‍♂️
