Anna Moffo is one of my favorite primadonna .She has all-beauty,voice acting skill. For me she is one and only Lucia Di Lammermour.Anna la piu bella primadonna with voice so soft and tender.
George London was suffering from a paralyzed vocal fold in the early '60s, for which he received injections of Teflon (ouch!). Yet despite that ordeal he still managed to sing this beautifully.
OK, but Moffo should be singing Elvira not Zerlina. And London of course should be doing Wotan. When I sang Don Giovanni the first time , I was cast as Commendatore. We sent couples out around Marin County to sing this duet. My wife and I sang it at a shopping mall. The guys singing the Don and Masetto also went out and sang it in unlikely places. Almost anyone can sing this simple duet. On this same page Moffo sings "La Ci Darem" with Richard Tucker!!!
Patrick Boyle -yes almost anyone can sing this -I do so in the shower but I can definitely say nothing like as good as this We all have a voice but few can actually sing -this oair could -and superbly. .Moffo had a great voice , was a drop dead gorgeous liking looking women and moved beautifully on stage and was a simply delightful personality -what more could you wish for in an opera singer.
I actually think Zerlina is more suited to Moffo, as Elvira sits lower. Why couldn't London sing the Don and Wotan? In fact, he is one of the greatest Dons in record.
@Agorante: Does your name translate to “arrogant” because that’s what you are to ridicule Moffo, Tucker and London by saying this is simple. No, you’re the simpleton. Putting yourself in London’s place, singing roles he sang? Laughable!
George London è fantastico, meraviglioso, Anna bellissima e bravissima. Stupendi entrambi!
What a beautiful woman! What a voice!
meravigliosi entrambi.

anna moffo splendita in tutti i sensi
George London forever.
No, only about four years after this. You can see that half of his instrument (and face) is already paralyzed.
@@ColonelFredPuntridge You know what they meant. Don't be facetious

It's better to be facetious
Than to make arguments which are specious.

Fantastc opera singer1
TO ANNA MOFFO
O, to tell you what your kiss
Did mean in my tenfold imagination -
Ever a balm, to this child’s bliss!
What perfect instruments for Mozart's genius.
If only Moffo had sung this role on the Gullini recording rather then the shrill Scutti.
And London sang the Don instead of Waechter 🙄
Bastianini, Taddei, Callas, Gencer, Moffo, Alva, Cappuccilli, Zaccaria.
