As an owner of an s80, this video gave me goosebumps. Everything you mentioned about the car is exactly on point! Its just a great, relaxing, smooth ride. Its especially great on these rural roads over here in Michigan . Great video man! Keep up the good work!

Just a few days ago, I picked up an 08 T6 including climate package and Dynaudio with 105k on the clock for $4500. Man, I won't shut up about it. It's truly an awesome car. It's comfy, it's smooth but let me tell you - compared to a bimmer, this thing might not be fast - but compared to most mid-range domestic or Japanese cars, you'll be surprised. When I took it out for a test drive I floored it, not knowing what the engine was capable of, and it put me in the back of my seat. If anyone is on the fence at all about owning one of these, I hope this video helps. It's a superb vehicle. Great video!
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying your T6. Also, like I said in the video, even compared to a BMW it’s quick; it barely got left by my 2011 335i on the highway. I was impressed and little upset haha!
I have a 09 s80 3.2. Me and a 5 series merged into the high way. I noticed he stepped on it from my mirror so I stepped on it and he couldn’t pass me. Pretty funny don’t sleep on a Volvo 😂
Aaron, after 2 years of owning your S80 has it proved to be reliable? Any transmission issues like others have mentioned or does preventative maintenance keep those problems at Bay? About reliability issues going forward.
I'm in the market for the S80. This has to be best review of any car I've seen on RUclips and I'm a RUclips junkie. Review is very helpful. Thank you very much sir. You're awesome.
Yes, the S80 is a fantastic car to drive. I've owned two, a 2.8 twin-turbo and an Executive Edition. Just be warned that they are extremely unreliable and have a very poor reputation for their automatic transmissions. Which is a shame, considering almost all other models of Volvo are of excellent build quality and run forever with little need for repair. I currently own five Volvos ranging from the V70 Cross Country, S60 and a pumped-up C30 T5 R-Design. Every S80 I've ever owned in the past has experienced every single one of the common (and expensive) failures you can easily Google... Take it from an experienced Volvo owner, don't buy one. Get and S60 T5 if you want a decent performance sedan. Preferably one with the manual transmission.
I've had my 2011 S80 T6 for several years, driven cross country, used as a commuter car too, and have only experienced minor problems with the car. Everything he mentioned in the video is accurate. The only issue's I've encountered were engine coil/ spark plug replacement, and having to replace the pcv oil trap and air mass filter. I bought it used with 140k miles on it, it was previously a company car, so it had some wear on the leather seats, but everything still functions great. I'm super happy with my purchase, after owning a bunch of different cars like Jeep Liberty, a GMC Jimmy (lol), Ford Focus, 2 Honda Civic's, Ford Ranger, Volvo C30, this is the best car I've ever owned. I would just suggest bringing any car you might be interested in purchasing to your mechanic to look over everything before buying to avoid surprises.
I was shocked to find a review of this car in the first place - there are hardly any review videos (not dealership info videos) about not only the S80, but the 2009 T6! The quality then far surpassed my expectations, and I couldn't believe it was uploaded only a week ago! Aside from my experiences driving a 2009 T6, I haven't really seen any other perspectives on the car, especially not in 2019. I think it is a superb car, and am quite surprised it has depreciated so quickly. I've got to say, despite the engine being more tuned to luxury and comfort than sportiness, the car has some real power when you floor it. Also, the Dynaudio speaker package is awesome - I'd be impressed to find a more rich set of speakers. The car was WAY ahead of its time, with features like adaptive cruise control, BLIS, auto brake, and Bluetooth connectivity - features that many are impressed to find in cars in 2019! Despite not being built for sportiness, I think this car offers a great overall package in both luxury and sportiness fields with a 2019 feel to it. The only thing I would have liked is for the looks to be a bit less bland - it doesn't have a "face" as many cars do nowadays. Thanks for making this video - it's what I'd been (unknowingly) waiting for since 2009! (And yes, I liked, commented, and subscribed)
@@BuzzytheBlue What's interesting is that I have also driven an XC60 from around the era and despite being more sport/offroad focused, I don't really notice a handling difference.
Hands down the best cinematography in a RUclips review ever. I hope you are able to go forward with your reviews and maybe make a career of this. I am picking up a 2008 s80 v8 awd next week and was reviewing videos. Yours was the best produced. Thank you and keep at it, you have the talent to take you to the very top of this kind of review.
Those are incredibly kind words, thank you David. I certainly don’t see myself as the “best” but I’m constantly trying to improve, so comments like yours really do mean a lot. Thank you again, and good luck with your S80 V8, they are excellent cars.
pesto12601 The amount of high quality content on here is staggering these days. I remember when Motortrend was really the only entity doing automotive videos with a high level of production. Great time to be into cars.
I've been looking for a car that's unique, sporty, maybe even rough. This has changed my mind. I want that silky smooth feel. This video is phenomenal. You will go places sir. Amazing
Excellent review! As a 2012 S80 owner, this car has been incredibly reliable and really isn’t that expensive to maintain. Cheaper to maintain than its German rivals. This is the choice if you want to stand out from the crowd. Downsides are that it has poor resale value and extremely difficult to resale. Buying and owning one is a long term commitment. I tried so hard to get rid of it and I failed. I decided to keep driving mine till the wheels fall off.
Thank you! And I agree, they drop like rocks. I feel for the original owners who’s cars lost as much as 95% of their value lol. As you said, they’re often so inexpensive that it makes sense to drive them into the ground.
I own an s80 as well. Purchased recent from a neighbor. Only 79,000 miles. Wonder why it’s hard for resale. It’s an amazing car and not a common look. Very unique. I don’t plan on selling mine anytime soon love the car. People don’t know what they’re missing on!
When I was searching for my first car back in 2016 my 2009 S80 3.2 beat out the SIlverados, F150s and other large trucks I originally wanted. I got mine for $4,000 with only 162k miles on it. It's currently sitting at 211k miles and counting. The motor went out earlier this year and I love it so much I put the $2,000 to get it back on the road. I'd put a lot of nice upgrades on it from newer S80s as well as a mild exhaust due to the original being rusty. There's so many little things you can add that refreshes it into 2020 and still look modern parked around other newer cars. I love it, I've taken it all over.
I got my s80 for $3,750, it had 159k miles and it’s from 2007. the previous owners didn’t service it at all, (had 2) i’ve sunk 2k into it for repairs. as my first car that’s kinda scary but this comments and video made me realize it’s worth it. thank you.
I have to say that this is one of the best car reviews i have seen in a long time. You deserve so much more views! Subscribed, not something i do often. Keep it up man!
Spot on review. I have an S80 V8 (63,000kms). Smooth, luxurious, quiet, very safe and with the most comfortable seats of any car I've driven. Recently drove from Melbourne to Sydney - it's the ultimate GT sedan - and the sound of the Yamaha V8 is awesome even with stock exhaust. This is a massively underated car.
SUPERB review!! Extremely professional and professionally (actually, beautifully) recorded (filmed). Wherever you filmed this, the area was gorgeous as was the backdrop, wow! I absolutely LOVE my first generation 1999 S80 as it's the most luxurious car that I've owned to date and with the exceptions of Porsche and Opel, I've owned everything Germany has offered since 1982 (one BMW, two Mercedes-Benz, three Volkswagens, and three Audi's) and I'm done. I'm now on my third Saab and my second Volvo (the S80) and have found that the Swedish cars are more reliable and are grossly understated. My desire is to get a 2009 S80 so thanks for this superb video! Where was this shot?
G'day from Australia, bloody great review mate - done with absolute aplomb, very professional and articulate! The whole review was very imformative, and had a great upmarket feel! Certainly gave me the incentive and encouragement to go out and buy a 2012 S80 T6 AWD here in Perth Western Australia, though considerably more expensive here than in the US. So thanks for the high quality presentation, and keep up the good work mate! Job well done......
Safety n comfort - which is more important than sportiness for most ppl. Esp w heavy traffic on hwy. volvo seats are superior to audi A6 or bmw 535 -way underrated cars..
Not even on the same side of the road but somehow this video showed up in my feed. So glad I clicked because man you deserve more subs! Kudos to you for such a good video! Well done sir and keep up the good work!
I'm a 2012 S80 owner (kind of second facelift), first car, even though it is a diesel powertrain, I do agree with everything you said about it. And the video itself is quite a tribute to this understated car that no one really knows... until they've sat in it. For that, thank you ! ;)
2012 owner here as well! I would not consider anything older than 2012 because this is when they add Bluetooth audio streaming and the screen. I wish they kept the open pore matte finish wood from the 2007-2011 though. They went glossy wood on the 2012 and it inst as nice. Fingers crossed it stays reliable!
@@stupid0nut it will, except the TF-80SC, only weak point in the maintenance department :/ The valve body goes bad if you drive it too much in city centers... They updated it a lot in 2012 interior-wise in my opinion but 2013 is even better, although I don't really like the front anymore from that MY. Best thing is updating with what you like as parts are interchangeable from MY to MY!
One of my mechanic uncle has this, where the wife drives it. Fall in love with the interior with beige color and 2 tone wooden steering. Sold my 320i M-Sport due to some unforseen financial issue(bought new) and i am glad that i did, after realizing that i cannot keep one model for long. Now, driving the 14th car and planning to own this lovely S80. I am from Malaysia and we a 2.5 T6 model which i more compelling in the interior compared to the 3.2 model that you are driving. I have been like crazy looking for S80 related videos in the past 2 weeks and finally found the BEST REVIEW so far. Thank you man. The presentation from someone just experiencing a few weeks drive and someone who owns are very different. You put them just right, line by line. Keep up the good job. I liked it and subscribed as well.
Thank you man I am really glad that you enjoyed it. Good luck finding your S80! Just for reference though, the car in the video is actually a T6, with the turbocharged inline 6 engine, not the 3.2.
Own a 2009 s80 3.2. Love the thing! I’ve owned Bmw before Volvo. The drive compared to my e70 x5 is equivalent or a bit better (despiting that my x5 has the upgraded better seats “multi contour 20 way adjustable”. Astonishing I couldn’t believe the comfort the s80 has the drive. Best of all it’s pretty powerful too! I got into s80s because my neighbor put a for sale sign on her s80 when she got a new car. Funny I used to see it every time I just to drive by and said “that’s a really nice car because it has the 17” regor wheels that pairs beautiful with the car. But never looked into it because I already owned a car and really didn’t know much about Volvo models. But when I did see the for sale sign I stopped to look at it and perhaps strike a good deal on it (which I did) To have as a daily and keep the BMW garaged to not use it as a daily (not very reliable and very costly to fix the BMW) that way I’m not wearing it out as much lol. But anyways it’s an ice white exterior and blonde interior. To me it’s luxurious and sporty (just a little customization and you will have the sport to it 😉. Im surprised the s80 didn’t have a better market. I think as he quoted in the video the Germans have taken over the market which is true I had my BMW first before Volvo. But I bought it because she lived on the same street which caught my eye. Love it daily driver perfect and stylish. And best of all it only has 79k on it when I got it. Perfect! Lol
I have a P2 Volvo s80 none turbo model I’ve had since November. Amazing car, most comfortable seats I’ve ever sat in and such a nice cushy quiet ride. Although a bargain it’s still a luxury car and maintenance on Volvos are expensive but parts galore thanks to iPd! Great video and nice to see it’s getting some love
I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation of the Volvo S80 v6 turbo.... I’m a 1990s Volvo 960 kind of guy and when they changed body styles to the S80 in 2001 I hated it, couple that with Ford’s meddling esp. that horrible transmission...they lost me. Over the years the body style grew on me...(sorta) you sir have convinced me to take a second look at the later 2000s S80. Thank you for such a well done overview..🤔😊
I own an 08 s80 and I fell in love with them I stand by them 100% mingled with ford yes but so much of it is volvo...... The T6 and the v8 s80s have different suspension setups then the lower engines....... The T6 and v8s are pure luxury 👌
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. From the beginning I’ve had an idea of how I’d like the videos to look, and this review was where I was finally able to start achieving that.
Don’t know if you will see this comment but just watched this review and it was really well done! I’m in MA and tomorrow going to check out a 2009 S80 T6 with only 62,000 miles on it for a little over 10,000. Hope everything checks out and I will buy it! Only 2 owners
I bought my S80 as my first car almost two years ago. While I’ve spent a lot of money replacing the driveshaft, AWD pump, water pump, wheel bearing, brakes/rotors, rear bushings, belts/pullys, PCV, vacuum booster, downpipe, etc. It’s been an amazing car to drive. The seats are by far the most comfortable I’ve ever ridden in… I would have no problem driving for 15+ hours straight in them. The performance audio is AMAZING, and pretty much everything else on the car was reviewed perfectly. (Although I do find myself wanting to drive fast sometimes lol). Next up are rear wheel spacers, ECU tune, new intake, new windshield, right front boot, and repainting the bumper (but we’ll see how much Im able to do because I’m in college atm). Such a great car, but PLEASE have a mechanic look at it (unless you are one), just as is the case with any used car. Don’t want to run into the same problems I have had. I purchased with 130k and have 155k miles now. I don’t know if I could ever sell my s80 (although I do want one with a Yamaha V8 :))
I picked up a late 2004 S60 2.4 D5 last week. It cost me £700. And it doesn't appear to have much wrong with it. I've owned many cars over the years, and this drives the best. It's fast when I need it to be (that big 5 cylinder diesel engine really kicks when the turbo comes on), but as you say in the video, I don't want to drive it fast. I just like cruising in it.
My friend sold me his 2008 S80 T6 for $1,000 as he and his wife were leaving the country to travel around the world for a few years. It had a coolant leak which cost several hundred to fix and later started throwing a CEL for the MAF sensor, but other than that it’s been great! Also - it ended up not being the MAF sensor but a vacuum leak in one corner of the air filter housing. Gotta love the Volvo forums for prompting me to check for vacuum leaks!
Thank you for an absolutely amazing video! I have experience of two V70s, very comfortable cars indeed with ergonomic and relaxing seats. I missed the information so could you tell where this video was shot? Very beautiful scenery and country-side. My best greetings from Finland.
Basically what I've been saying for 15+ years. People put too much attention amd focus on sportyness, is it planted enough around bends? Is the steering responsive enough? Is the gearbox quick enough? Is the acceleration punchy enough to overtake 3 cars fast as it takes to overtake one car normally? It's like no matter the class it's judge based of a sporty GT and I don't get it. Judge it for what it is and compare it to it's equals. Ans as a reviewer talk about to to the people who look for what it offers or it's competitors. But it's always like the main group is track enhtusiasts and teens who just got their license and wants to have fun on any trip, to the mall, to their visits, to their jobs. Finally someone who get it!
Thats a very nice interior, my brother had a V8 S80 and it was beautiful and has the best exhaust note in its class IMO. I love Volvo’s choice of wood grain the colours are really nice.
CARNAL FLORES hi there, to be fair he didn’t own it for a great period of time but he had zero issues that I am aware of. The best exhaust note even stock it sounded amazing. He sold it to his next door neighbour who was in love with the sound it made.
I have driven both the 6 and the 8 speed transmissions and i must say i prefer the 6 speed. The 8 speed box feels restless and downshifts very agressively already at half throttle (i guess this was emission thing since the car had the new D4 twinturbo diesel engine). It got better when ECO+ setting was engaged since it didn't downshift as quicly. Also not being dual clutch the 8 speed feels quite jerky when it downshifts twice in a row. The 6 speed box is much more oldschool and thus better to drive.
Awesome, it’s at 140,000 miles now and has had zero failures of any kind. Just regular maintenance. The T6 specifically seems to be the most reliably of the bunch.
This is a wonderful review. As someone keenly looking into a new vehicle, this S80 in particular stands out quite a bit more than the Avalons I've been looking at thus far. It's either this or an LS430 for me....hard, hard choice...
That is tough! One factor to note though is while the Lexus is bulletproof reliable, the Volvos can be somewhat temperamental at times. (We never experienced that with ours, but it’s something to keep in mind when comparing the two)
Thank you! RUclips takes a long time to build up, although it is starting to suggest my videos more often 👍🏼 If you want to help out, share the videos you enjoyed with others. Thanks again!
Underrated car imo. Costs less here in Northern Europe than a comparable V70. If you can find a documented nice one, great bargain! Good rust protection. Ergonomically superior to modern Volvos. Quality seats, discrete styling. Relatively exclusive. Change the ATF oil on the Aisin transmission regularly and it will last many miles
Great video man ! I am about to change my car and thanks to you I'am really concidering buying a S80 T60. Before that I was looking only for BMW or MB.
This was (and is) one of the finest competitors to my Saab 9-5 - and might be its successor some day... Which trim level was the car you drove - all the wood & leather relly looks like Summum, perhaps Momentum?
Naaah man, in the s80 you will feel competely isolated compared to the 9-5 which is an awsome car. I'm rolling in my 2003 9-3 1.8t and I love it, my next one will be the 9-3 2.8 V6 xwd and I cant wait 😀
@@davidmiletic6647 I like my Saab and want to keep it as long as it is viable but they're not everlasting... and so far, Volvo is the brand that comes closest...
The s80 II was so ahead of its time in terms of modern looks and tech, that they basically ran the same design with minor tweaks up until 2016 thats how long it took the competition to catch up. Both generations s80 made volvo what it is today .It is also a plus for me personally because I drive the V8 version which will never happen again with volvo unfortunately. Nonetheless enjoy your s80's the swedes surprised me I can say the least.
Fantastic review! Definitely considering this as my next car after watching your review! I know that this review is more focused towards Volvo S80 being a German alternative but I'm curious to know at the 6k price point in the used car market how well does the S80 compare to the Japenese and South Korean flagship competition of it's era. Like for eg. '00-'06 Lexus LS 430 or the GS 430 or the ES300/350 and the first Gen '08-'13 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 V8 or the 3.8 V6 in terms of ride comfort and reliability? Perhaps, a future video on this?
Lexus and Genesis have more plush rides. S80 is softish for a European car, but it isn't as plush and isolated as the Genesis or Lexus and it's not as quiet. It does have a "stouter" feel, however.
I've got a S80 2.4 diesel, 163hp, 2003 so an old car now. The most comfortable car I've ever driven, there more comfortable I found than the S60 on the same year. And they can't half shift! The amount of car's at the traffic lights that are behind me but then go into the faster lane, because these cars look big and cumbersome and slow, and then when I pull away there still at the lights lol. ☺️ There deceptively fast cars
Damn, 6000 dollars for a S80 2009, in Uruguay there will be about 30 units between the 2 generations, it was too expensive and only came to the country on request, but today not all are in good condition, in that state of conservation they can be worth between 15 to 18 thousand dollars .... 6000 USD ??? ... in the USA sell cars at the price of a "Burned House" !!!
nice beautiful video. you can also make a video about the older volvo xc90. that is also a car that is very luxurious but little is said about it. certainly the volvo xc90 se lux
Almost bought one a few months back! It was a 2009 V8 Executive (the one with the champagne glasses and fridge in the back lol). Loved it. Everything that’s good about the T6 but with a (surprisingly audible) V8 rumble and power. Didn’t go home with it because cosmetically it wasn’t a great example.
It is true that an S80 drives smoother than any modern 3 or 5 Series BMW. BMW made the decision a few years back that their 3 and 5 Series must be a performance-oriented automobile; and to achieve that, they left behind the smooth ride quality that the S80 definitely delivers. An S80 rides smoothly like a Cadillac from the 1960s and the BMWs drive like a Lola-chassis'd Formula 1 car. They really aren't in the same category these days. To be fair to BMW, et al. in that category, it's not the cars that changed, it was the market itself. The entire luxury market now thinks that you need to be a performance car to compete rather than provide a smooth ride. This is why the S80 still had sidewalls on their stock-sized tires and Lexus, BMW and Mercedes, for example, have barely any at all.
This car doesn't really belong anywhere. An A8 or 7 series are more direct competitors and both leave this car wanting, a similar vintage of each will also have depreciated just as much.
not at all. they are very well protected from rust. i own a 07mod 2.4diesel, and there is basicly no rust what so ever, and i live in Norway, close to the sea. we also use lots of salt on the roads during winter-time..

Those are incredibly kind words, thank you David. I certainly don’t see myself as the “best” but I’m constantly trying to improve, so comments like yours really do mean a lot. Thank you again, and good luck with your S80 V8, they are excellent cars.
Lots of good cinematography reviews on the net these days....4k even! Savagegeese? StraightPipes? Check em out.. you'll be impressed...
pesto12601 The amount of high quality content on here is staggering these days. I remember when Motortrend was really the only entity doing automotive videos with a high level of production. Great time to be into cars.
@@BuzzytheBlue we thank you for your efforts.. keep up the good work and I hope you are able to reap some reward for your time and energy!
Im still rolling in my 2003 Saab 9-3.
Love it!
I love saabs also I've owned 5 so far
Bought mine a year old, in 2013, and plan to do the same. I still really like it.
Excellent review dude. I like your delivery style. Good music, high production content.
Much appreciated man, thank you.
I got my s80 for $3,750, it had 159k miles and it’s from 2007. the previous owners didn’t service it at all, (had 2) i’ve sunk 2k into it for repairs. as my first car that’s kinda scary but this comments and video made me realize it’s worth it. thank you.
I have owned 4 Volvo S80s...
Even compared with modern cars they are so smooth and comfortable
Best car that i ever owned
I own a volvo s80 from 2005. I didn't find out about the second generation s80 until today and I want to upgrade...
I have to say that this is one of the best car reviews i have seen in a long time. You deserve so much more views!
Subscribed, not something i do often. Keep it up man!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it.
Too bad they didn´t put that V8 awd drivetrain in the V70... :(
@@mikaeljonsson4686
But 6 cylinder still good for v70
I bought a 2012 S80 T6 back in 2020 with 84,000 miles on it. I still have it and it's the best car I ever owned.
Thank you, Mark! That’s very kind of you. This video was shot in New England, Connecticut in particular. Glad that you enjoyed!
Saab was such a futuristic car for its time and Volvos older engines are unbreakable.
Hello! That’s extremely kind of you, I’m glad you enjoyed. Will continue pushing the quality further as far as I can 👍🏼
Safety n comfort - which is more important than sportiness for most ppl. Esp w heavy traffic on hwy. volvo seats are superior to audi A6 or bmw 535 -way underrated cars..
Even my cheap 2000 XC-70 had some of the most comfortable seats Ive ever experienced in a car. They really know how to do ergonomics and comfort.
Not even on the same side of the road but somehow this video showed up in my feed. So glad I clicked because man you deserve more subs! Kudos to you for such a good video! Well done sir and keep up the good work!
fantastic video! I loved the camera work and your commentary, everyhting was fantastic. Good job!
Must say I love my Volvo's, 2005 S60 at the moment which is my 5th. Stepping up to an S80 in the near future for sure...
Thanks for this :)
This video verbalizes how the 2009 S80 T6 feels. Great job sir, I appreciate the Quality spent on such a video.
Perfect! Lol
Great review! Recently purchased this car, very happy with it!
I was thinking s80 or s60...but after watching this definitely will go for Volvo s80.
9 years removed from my ‘02 S80 T6, I went and got an ‘08 S80. So comfortable
What a wonderful car this is. Its very nice to look at, the inside looks gorgeous and at that price points, it rocks
I own an 08 s80 and I fell in love with them I stand by them 100% mingled with ford yes but so much of it is volvo...... The T6 and the v8 s80s have different suspension setups then the lower engines....... The T6 and v8s are pure luxury 👌
S80 executive with the yamaha v8 is a proper sleeper :)
Great video. I really liked the cineastic style. Great shots and the review itself was also very on point.
Thank you David! Good luck with the car, that’s a great price with such low mileage.
@@BuzzytheBlue Thanks! Love the sleeper look. Cops look at it and don’t even know.
You have a T6 too? How do you like it with the Downpipe? And who makes the tune you’re considering?
What year is ur S80? Are these problems common?
I picked up a late 2004 S60 2.4 D5 last week. It cost me £700. And it doesn't appear to have much wrong with it. I've owned many cars over the years, and this drives the best. It's fast when I need it to be (that big 5 cylinder diesel engine really kicks when the turbo comes on), but as you say in the video, I don't want to drive it fast. I just like cruising in it.
I own a 2000 S80. 260,000 miles and going strong.
What were the biggest issues with it?
My friend sold me his 2008 S80 T6 for $1,000 as he and his wife were leaving the country to travel around the world for a few years. It had a coolant leak which cost several hundred to fix and later started throwing a CEL for the MAF sensor, but other than that it’s been great! Also - it ended up not being the MAF sensor but a vacuum leak in one corner of the air filter housing. Gotta love the Volvo forums for prompting me to check for vacuum leaks!
Just got into my first volvo this week a 99 v70 and love it looking forward to my next one aswell
Thank you for an absolutely amazing video! I have experience of two V70s, very comfortable cars indeed with ergonomic and relaxing seats. I missed the information so could you tell where this video was shot? Very beautiful scenery and country-side. My best greetings from Finland.
Much appreciated! This was shot in New England, Connecticut to more specific. Glad you enjoyed.
i have a Volvo S80 T6 with 210k miles and every mile is worth it for a wonderful smooth ride.
even with not amazing weather i don't have to worry about being stuck inside feel completely safe on the road
Any issues? Is maintenance expensive?
Wow I just bought a 2009 s80 I love it only $4000
Wow...that's cheap! You must be grinning like a Cheshire cat!...Cheers!
Great review! Everything about the video was on point! Loved the back ground music and you definitely have the voice for this! Keep up the good work!
Wow, just wow! I know I'm late to the party on this, but dude, what comprehensive, quality video. I've always loved Volvos.
Glad you liked it!
A perfect review of a stunning car...Hello from Sweden
Glad you enjoyed it!
What's your opinion on the reliability?
PS - well done video *subscribed*
This video made me get one i have the v8 version now its super fun
Thats a very nice interior, my brother had a V8 S80 and it was beautiful and has the best exhaust note in its class IMO. I love Volvo’s choice of wood grain the colours are really nice.
CARNAL FLORES hi there, to be fair he didn’t own it for a great period of time but he had zero issues that I am aware of. The best exhaust note even stock it sounded amazing. He sold it to his next door neighbour who was in love with the sound it made.
CARNAL FLORES you’re welcome, also the best designed seats/head rests in the business.
Thanks for this review! I am looking into getting one of these and wonder how well has this vehicle held up over time?
Awesome, it’s at 140,000 miles now and has had zero failures of any kind. Just regular maintenance. The T6 specifically seems to be the most reliably of the bunch.
What's the reliability/maintenance like? This would be a nice topic to cover in future videos. Liked the video.
Same.
Thank you for this great review! I think this car also aged better than the German rivals.
I tend to agree with you. Thank you!
A relaxing review fitting for a relaxing car
This is a wonderful review. As someone keenly looking into a new vehicle, this S80 in particular stands out quite a bit more than the Avalons I've been looking at thus far. It's either this or an LS430 for me....hard, hard choice...
That is tough! One factor to note though is while the Lexus is bulletproof reliable, the Volvos can be somewhat temperamental at times. (We never experienced that with ours, but it’s something to keep in mind when comparing the two)
This video was very exciting ❤️
Great review man. Bit of a unicorn car this one. I particular liked it when the v8 Supercars here in Australia raced them for a few seasons.
Really nice video! I've got a Volvo S40 already and a S80 soon. :) I just love Volvo.. :3 ♥
I have a S40 and it's a great ride. The 1.9 turbo is fun too :)
Why do you only have 2.64K subscribers..? A very good review sir..
Thank you! RUclips takes a long time to build up, although it is starting to suggest my videos more often 👍🏼 If you want to help out, share the videos you enjoyed with others. Thanks again!
Pretty nice video bro, made me like s80 even more.
I still want to find a V8 Executive one day, king of the lineup haha.
Nice review. Miss my 4.4 V8.
What happened to it
I gave it to a friend's son two years ago. It's his car now and he's been very happy (and safe) with it since.
Own one, perfect review
I agree, who needs a sports car when you wanna drive relax, not bumpy or racing???
The s80 II was so ahead of its time in terms of modern looks and tech, that they basically ran the same design with minor tweaks up until 2016 thats how long it took the competition to catch up. Both generations s80 made volvo what it is today .It is also a plus for me personally because I drive the V8 version which will never happen again with volvo unfortunately. Nonetheless enjoy your s80's the swedes surprised me I can say the least.
Nice video! You did great! Keep it up.
Excellent video. Volvo are seriously underrated. And when I put the S90 against the 535i I ended up going S90
My buddy had an s80 with the turbo i6 and he sold it but he misses it like crazy lol. It was a good car.
this man is great
Great work and great car. And stunning location. We have the XC70 xc90 and S40 here in Australia.
Old Video, However, Top notch quality. SUBSCRIBED.
Thank you!
This was an excellent video and very helpful!
I have this exact car, and I love it!!
Great vid went to Uconn. What’s the Achilles heel on the V8 s80? Trans hold up? Thanks
I've subscribed and I will be sharing this video
Well put together video and review
Wow. What a video! Great job.
Thank you!
Well done on the review! Hey! Have you ever checked out a V8 model? I would love see a video on that! There are not many out there.
@@BuzzytheBlue You could probable pick up an older more base 2007 for quite a bit cheaper. If you do, be sure and post a video on it ;)
27 bmw owners dislike this video lol
Quality review. Subscribed.
In Europe you could get this with a V8 as well. Not sure if that was possible inn America though.
Look for the S60 T6 (310HK) EX 2011 super NICE
Great review!
Where did you shoot this vids ????? So nice Oklahoma
Thats a great video!
What about emerging rust on the body, anything to be concerned about while looking at a used 2006-2014 s80
not at all. they are very well protected from rust. i own a 07mod 2.4diesel, and there is basicly no rust what so ever, and i live in Norway, close to the sea. we also use lots of salt on the roads during winter-time..
