I'm so glad I bought a brand new Subaru in 2019, paid it off, and my insurance rates have been going DOWN in Colorado. I pay about $550 every 6 months, which was cheaper than when I was in Florida. I will not be buying another new car for a while, and my next car in just going to pay cash for it, because I'm not dealing with these interest rates. I spend money on only the basics right now as I wait for the crash.

Today, barely any are being sold. Same trucks on the lot and every dealership is stacked to the rafters with inventory. Used car prices here in Colorado are still too high, and that's why a lot of dealers are going to the auction and coming home empty handed or they only purchased a small handful of vehicles to fill the holes on the lot. The vehicles around the $9,000 to $13,000 retail prices on the small Pot Lots have 150K and many have issues, they are still too much money. It's not so much about the high interest rates for the lower credit score folks who are always going to pay a premium it's the fact that many people are struggling pay check to pay check, they are paying 20% inflation which is approximately $1,000 per month MORE today to buy food, gas, goods and services than they were paying 2 years ago and the fact that needed money down to secure the sub-prime loans has disappeared because of the high cost of living across the board. Great show thank you! God bless -Larry G Loveland, Colorado

      True.
You are 1 of the few people that actually say the say thing I say... people are living paycheck to paycheck the essential items are costing them $1,000 a month more then it did in 2022 I tried to tell my boss that he just looked at me as if I fell off the cliff and acted like a one-dollar pay raise will cover it (sorry but a $1 raise is only about $160 a month). Let that sink in.
      $1000 vs $160 🤦‍♂️🙄

Thx for another great video, Lucky. Here in the Atlanta area, it is mixed. Some dealers have seen the writing on the wall and are making deals to move cars while others are still asking for stupid money and expecting people to pay it. Like you said, it is frustrating but if you keep looking and waiting, the deals are out there.

I am in the north east. Seems 5 years ago all kinds of people were buying new cars. And the dealers had all the special models out. All kinds of colors, it was like a hay day. Some of the coolest inventory from the automakers i have seen in my lifetime. Like reliving the 60s perhaps. Getting the hemis out, raptors. Beautiful new vehicles. A last stand a almost celebration. Before full emissions regulation took effect. Then covid hit prices started going up and never came down, It was great. 5 years ago. Amazing what was on the lots. Lot of people bought.
Not now. Its changed. All the more rare , show case cars and trucks are pretty much disappeared. The left is still way to high priced. People dont seem to be buying, lots are quiet. Its become sort of a stalemate between dealers and consumers. People dont want to spend 70k on a truck or car. Most cant afford to. Its eerily quiet. Sitting inventory. One dealer rolled pretty much everything in the lot shipped them somewhere else. Other dealers, back to the manufacturer. I dont know. But a lot of 60k-100k cars suddenly disappeared.
Nissan has done some mark downs. Perhaps the best priced anyway. Ram did a little mark down, not much. They sitting on a lot of 60k plus jeeps no buyers. Ford i have seen no real mark downs. Gm is marking down certain models, but still buried in expensive stuff no one will buy.
Toyota pretty much no change, little mark down on tundra. Everything pretty much selling at msrp though,
I did notice cheaper cars, Volkswagen jetta 22k, nissan versa 17k seem to me limited availability and are selling fast. The nissan lot is near empty of versa or sentra. They go out fast. The vw lot is keeping up better but the jettas for 22k are moving fast.
Everything else, seems much a stale mate.,
Even the construction companies who usually trade in every 3 or 4 years are running trucks from 5 or 6 years ago, or more. They aren't even trading with the business write off.
There is still buyers of the high end models. The more affluent. But they are rare and basically write a check out of their personal bank account. The ones that were buying above their means on long term loans with almost no money down seem to have been pushed out of the market. And this market is the "remnants". There was a lot more new cars driving around a few years back, and before covid than now. At least here. Subaru is selling lower models. The 55k outbacks dont seem to be moving. Nissan frontiers with discounts are still moving, a little. Ford., man i just dont know. There was maverick moving but that slowed. Ford has done some discounts on the trucks maybe 2k off. But its still not enough. People arent buying

Trucks, once you buy one, that's all you want. Bought my first one some 50 years ago. Nothing but trucks since then. Just sold my '16 Silverado LTX, 115K miles, 6.2 engine, perfect, for $20K. Gentleman meets me at the bank with $20K cash in a briefcase. I asked the broker/buyer what he would do with it. He said 90% go to auction. I'm thinking that the auction blogs claim prices are terrible for used vehicles, so how is he going to make anything on this? I bought another truck, of course.🤷‍♂

I work in the business and what's happening now. All the pricing is slowly coming down. Antiquated values, I'm a subbuyer. Most stuff, especially high dollar trucks and suvs, are being recycled through the auctions. They sit on the lot for months get ran through manheim auction again. Rinse and repeat, some are no sales, many sell at a large loss. It's a hell of a thing to watch. The only reason they don't hit the auctiom at once is it would cause a much larger crash. The market is insanity. Lukcy is correct about the truck market it makes no sense. You almost can't rely on the comps. It's a hot mess.

tons of people started dumping their big A$$ gas guzzle SUVs and Trucks, for honda civic, toyota carola, and ford focus, then after 2012, all of sudden they seem to forget like the Hamsters, and got even worst asking for bigger and better SUV and TRUCKS, its almost like they can't have spare money in their hands for saving for retirement and emergencies, they must spend it on "LUXURIES" they really shouldn't be spending it on. What I’m noticing some of the dealers are doing is offering the price with the potential $4K already reduced. I don’t particularly like that approach since it’s a slimy tactic because what if you don’t qualify or worse; they’re selling over $25K allotment from IRS & telling consumers that they’ll get the $4K anyway which is false. Dealers need to be updated the approach since not all consumers qualifies.

I check auction ads as part of my job. Ohio requires that non-bank, non-credit union, non-insurance company sellers place their cars in public auctions to collect on a deficiency balance. Those sale ads for the Manheim and Adesa auctions are still large, but so are the auctions at the independent auction facilities.
An observation about your videos: You sit in a swivel chair during your videos. You appear to like to sit on the very front part. When you do that, the back of the chair swivels noticeably whenever you make hand gestures or move your body. Maybe sitting in a non-swivel chair could improve the aesthetics of your video presentation.

Not sure why everyone thinks it’s prestigious or smart to pay $100 per tank of gas, $50 per oil change, $700 for brakes. EVs need none of this. I own 2 teslas and in 4 years all I’ve paid for is tire rotation, windshield washer fluid and that’s it. Plus my cars have an amazing sound system, drives like a Lamborghini. Sure you have to plan accordingly when going on a long drive but we just fly when a trip is over 300 miles. While EV is not for everyone you clearly cannot disregard its benefits.

    I current have a 2011 F150 4x4 that I bought in 2021 at 88% LTV, priced at $20,000 with 136k miles.
I have been trying to upgrade to a newer truck for a year and a half with absolutely no luck, as unfortunately the truck I have now is worth $7500 to dealerships.
I have been approved through my local credit union for up to $45,000, but only at 85% LTV maximum. Every penny over that is my responsibility.
So with the negative equity I currently hold (regardless of how well I did deal wise in 2021) plus the high prices of vehicles means I don’t have a reasonable choice to upgrade into a newer truck without several thousand dollars down.
I am in texas if that makes a difference.

I'm so glad i bought a very reliable 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport back in 2017 before things went stupid. Have it paid off and have babied i and no funky engine tunes or mods so it runs like new and looks amazing still. Looks like I'm going to be holding onto it for a lot longer then i thought. I was going to trade it in while it had a very high used price still attached to it and upgrade to a 2024 TRD Sport model. Not anymore. Even with an 830 credit rating the rates are still to high and so are the prices. Maybe in late 2025 I'll look seriously at the market.
