    As a Carmel kid who was privileged enough to play under both Frank Lenti and Jordan Lynch, I can say you got the facts right about his coaching career. Well done researching!

    Glad I was an NIU student when he played there. Dude was awesome to watch live. Used to live right in one of those apartments behind the stadium you can see in the background. Saw all the home games those years

    I remember getting out of middle school basketball practice and my dad picking me up and going straight to an NiU game on cold weekday nights and Jordan lighting up the field. Great memories, not sure I ever saw them lose live in dekalb.

    Just got recommended this. Nice video! Another guy who had a lot of success as a high school coach basically straight out of a playing career was Doug Pederson. He took over Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport Louisiana and within 3 years they took down Evangel Christian Academy, one of the most storied programs in Louisiana football with alum such as Jermauria Rasco, Brock Berlin, and Jacob Hester, along with QB brothers Josh Booty and John David Booty. Ironically, the youngest of the Booty brothers was a member of that 2007-08 Calvary team that beat Evangel to win their school’s first ever district championship.

    The Arial shot you show of Mount Carmel High School when you first mention it, is not the Mount Carmel High School in Chicago where Jordan attended....also the team you show in the purple is not Mount Carmel.

      As an Illinois guy I was thinking the same lol, that was probably Mount Carmel HS, in Mount Carmel, IL. huh. Albeit, if not from the State would be confusing. Shit even if your are from the state. You got Mt. Carmel (Chicago), Carmel Catholic (Mundelein), and Mount Carmel HS (Mount Carmel, IL) lol

    I believe this man would have been a solid NFL receiver. Being a QB always makes guys like Lynch transition to that position easier because of their ability to read defenses mid play and understanding of finding cushions in the defense. He was tough to. Still scratching my head on this one.

    • @C4m4r0
      @C4m4r0 4 года назад +1

      The Bears tried him out as a running back and wide receiver but he got cut in the preseason and then the CFL came calling for him to play QB. He was the backup in Edmonton but became the starter and won the Grey Cup. He will soon be the Head Coach at NIU once Hammock steps down.

    Great video! He doesn't get enough credit for all that he did on the football field. Former Central Michigan QB Dan Lefevour would be a terrific choice for a video if tou haven't done one on him yet. He was Lynch before Lynch woth slightly worse stats.

    Gordie Lockbaum was more as an unlikely Heisman Finalist than Jordan Lynch. He was a 2 way player at division 1-AA Holy Cross playing offense and defense in 1986 and 1987 finishing as high as 3rd. Only one other 1-AA player finished top 3 in the Heisman vote. The late Steve McNair at Alcorn State in 1994.
    Jameis Winston was the winner in 2013 and a finalist in 2014. So he couldnt make the ceremony in 2012 as a freshman on redshirt.

    • @WISHBONEL7

    Ever heard of Gordie Lockbaum. Went to Holy Cross played both ways and was third for the Heisman in 1987. So Gordie was probably the most unlikely finalist ever since he played both ways and was not a QB.
