How LSU WON The NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (Lost to TROY TWO YEARS AGO)

  • On full display in Baton Rouge, Louisiana lies a storied football program. A program entrenched in the deep rich history of college football, a program with four national championships to their name, two heisman winners and the 16th most victories in FBS college football history. A program who has been led to national championship victories under head coaches, Paul Dietzel in 1958, Nick Saban in 2003 Les Miles in 2007 and of course Ed Orgeron in 2019. I am talking of course about the Louisiana State University Tigers. This is the story of a team that was never supposed to have even existed. Everyone was surprised when Coach O became LSU's head coach. Without Coach Orgeron, this team would have never been put together. Joe Burrow wouldn't have played for the Tigers and who knows when LSU would win their next championship. Thankfully Coach O was hired and the rest is history.

    As I've said to my friends many times top five recruiting classes ice the cake but it's usually the less glamorous classes that build the foundation of a championship team.

    From the very beginning, I did not feel they could be stopped. Burrows and crew were not just great football players, but the best kind of young men. I met Clyde Edwards Elaire's aunt on the plane and she said he was a better young man than a football player...with absolute love for him in her eyes. HIs story was as impressive as Burrows. When you heard them on ESPN or the SEC network, every young man was confident but not cocky...intelligent in their answers...and each projected that they had a big heart. And above all, they loved one another and acted as true friends in every way. This is what should be the model of all sports teams everywhere. Remember, as Coach "O" said, "God had a plan, and WE followed it". I will never forget it...and even in Utah when I go to Costco or other public places, people come up want to talk about LSU football and how much they all loved watching it...even in the land of BYU and U of Utah...it was amazing to hear. Again, may God bless all coaches and young men to take this example and lead the kinds of lives that are of champions and leaders of "Good" hearts and intent for all to see. Chemi

    • @ballthemblack
      @ballthemblack 4 года назад

      that's why they recruit and have other players lined up to play. Just like Bama they lose alot of talent almost every year on defense and yet fine themselves as one of the best defensive teams at times. If you're coached up very well you'll be fine. And about not having spring practice that's goes for everyone so everyone is at a disadvantage

    • @ballthemblack

      @Braydon Wilson they should be but the secondary has to replace your two big players. LSU still has players back on the d-line who made impact plays. Have 3 players back in the secondary only thing they have to look at is linebacker that was the biggest loss on the defense in this draft

    *Derrius Guice did not play in that Troy game due to being nicked up in practice the week before. LSU coaches figured they could roll out of bed and beat them so they sat Guice with a minor injury.

      No, we didn't 4get Leslie got Coach O to LSU. Even a broke clock tells the truth twice a day. With all the bumbling and stumbling Leslie did over his tenure, he had to do something right, so he stumbled over the right hire for all the foolish clock mismanagement an for all of the end of the game comedy that he provided diehard LSU fans with that we could've did without that was down right regrettable. Though long ever due, they finally got his stupid looking hick ass the fuck up outta there while costing us immeasurable embarrassment for being the laughingstock of clock mismanagement an end of the game snafus. The loss to Troy was because there were several defensive starters out with injuries that couldn't play in that game. As beyond the starters, there was no depth on the team courtesy of former head coach Les Miles. However, when those injured starters returned to playing again the very next week, LSU went on a 6 game winning streak including victories over both Auburn and Florida.
    That Troy State loss was more the fault of former head coach Les Miles than it was the fault of Ed O.

    • @szcollective

      We haven’t been Troy State since 2003. We should have beaten you twice before. Even with starters injured you have more depth and highly rated players than we could dream of. We pulled up on purpose to chew clock and limit your possessions. We had your number that night, you guys bounced back and reached the pinnacle. Like your program, you’re better than making excuses. Go Trojans! Geaux Tigers!

    • @cotterpin6406
      @cotterpin6406 4 года назад

       @David Cain, Not in 2017, as all of LSU's depth, had previously transferred out or graduated courtesy of Les Miles, the previous head football coach, and his piss poor recruiting and head coaching job.
      Not to mention, that because Troy State normally can't compete with LSU, LSU also took a chance in that game and played a true freshman at QB for over half that game until LSU had fallen way behind. Then LSU stuck the starter, Danny Etling, back in the game in the fourth quarter and as a direct result, LSU came storming back from a large deficit.
      However, in the middle of the fourth quarter, Troy State was able to break a long run up the middle because as I said, beyond the injured starters, LSU didn't have any depth in the trenches. Therefore, LSU ended up running out of clock right when they were about to score the final go-ahead touchdown and as a result, ended up losing that game.
      Furthermore, when those injured starters returned back to playing the very next week, LSU went on a six-game winning streak before losing to Alabama in Tuscaloosa in a game that LSU had more first downs and far more total yards than Alabama. Then LSU lost to Notre Dame on a freak last play of the game miracle in their bowl game and in a game that LSU had thoroughly dominated Notre Dame every which way but on the scoreboard.
      Nonetheless, since that 2017 season, the lack of depth situation that haunted LSU in the Moo State and Troy State games has been completely rectified.

    LSU is the college version of the Pittsburgh Steelers. No NFL team has had more "CONSISTENT" talent than the Steelers. But bcoz of Mike Tomlin, they've only managed to get to the superbowl twice since he's been there and won once. A landslide of wasted talent, games an championships bcoz he insisted on zoning up on Brady instead of playing man coverage. It's the very reason the Ravens, Chargers an Chiefs gave Tom Terrific fits when they played them. Making him hold the ball 1 second longer is an eternity in game time when u play man. There are ppl who will look at Tomlin's overall record an say "he's never had a losing season with Pittsburgh" but a closer look at the details of his schemes reveals a complete an abysmal mismatch Belichick had over him much like Nick Sabin had over DUMB Lesser Miles. Inevitably, upon closer examination, there's no worse coach in all of football (pro or college) than Tomlin with the talent he had since he's been at Pittsburgh much like Leslie No Miles had at LSU. LSU easily had more talent over the last 20 seasons in all of college football by leaps and bounds (proof-more players in the NFL in the last 20 seasons than any other college team) but pathetic an often foolish coaching by Lester Miles rendered LSU laughable in most games whether they won or lost. There are ppl who will praise both Miles an Tomlin for having won many games an "A" championship an completely neglect to scrutinize the lack of championship accomplishments that should've been sustained over a period of time with the talent these coaches had at their disposal much like each of their respective counterparts Sabin an Belichick with less talent but with supremely superior coaching. Plug in a coach who could've gotten a half ass decent quarterback starting from 1999 to 2020 LSU would've easily had over 10 championships bcoz their defense during this stretch was just that good. Matt Flynn was only decent. That's how bad the coaching was over that time. Coach O seems to be the right fit to get the most out of his players. Now Pittsburgh need to get a real coach who schemes to win championships. An one who knows when to play man an when to play zone. This shit ain't rocket science.

      Then why did Cowher only win one?Tomlin is the best coach beside Sean Payton and B.Belicheck

    • @Steelersbaby
      @Steelersbaby 4 года назад

      @@@mcdonoghrahloh459If u wanna talk Cowher we can. He wasn't much of an upgrade compared to Tomlin. He did compile a 4-3 regular season record against New England. Cowher went 2-4 in AFC championship games which is just as heartbreaking as Tomlin perfecting the art of losing to sub 500 teams which will never be lost upon any true Steelers fan. So no, Cowher wasn't any better than Tomlin when u look at their entire Steelers resume. These coaches won a lotta games which is what the best AVERAGE coaches do. I can hear folks saying right now "I'll take average over the results of certain other teams". Certain "other" teams is not who the Steelers are. When u talk about teams like the Packers, Lakers, Celtics, Cowboys, an yes the Steelers, one thing comes to mind 1st: CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!! My point in making the comparison to Dumb Les is this, when u get to the top of the heap u have to maintain that championship fortitude. Winning games gets u there but finishing is what counts. Lester got satisfied win 9/10 win seasons an thought the fans was ok with that. Any LSU fan who really knows talent, recruits, recruiting an knew the players LSU was getting an was satisfied with 9/10 games has no business cosigning or singing the praising of Less an yes, u can say the same for Mike Tomlin. "Oh, he (Less) can recruit" fuck outta here!!! What good is the recruit if you're not using them correctly an what good is the recruit if their dumb ass coach is CONSISTENTLY putting the team in situations they had no business being in. I think Tomlin was the only fool ass coach in the league who would've tolerated a DB as bad as Ike Taylor. It's hard to find a DB who played as poorly but Tomlin insisted on making him something he wasn't. This is how a talent that a person has put them in situations they had no business in. Ike had speed an that's it. Nothing else. His covering skills was much like my grandmother's. He dropped at least 2 interceptions per game for his entire career. Ike was too dumb to realize that when u play as poorly as he did his entire career u should not taunt your opponents bcoz one day u would have to back up that trash talk which he never did. Dude got burned so much his name should've been firestarter. I remember the disgust from his teammates when it would happen. So no, Tomlin nor Cowher was no better than Less. As far as I'm concerned all 3 can sail right over Niagara without a canoe.

      @@@mcdonoghrahloh459 I'm from Louisiana as well an will always root for everything Louisiana but I've been living in Milwaukee for the last 30 yrs. I agree with u about Big Ben's diva mindset an his insistence on trying to be too much like his idol John Elway. I also agree with u that Tomlin is no Andy Reid. Much worse. I don't even disagree with u about stability. It makes sense. So all in all I'm not challenging most of the things you're mentioning. But to say ike Taylor was good is on par with either not watching every game he played or simply catching a moment the receivers that he was covering just so happened to drop the ball. Being in the midwest they don't show the games I wanna see so I have to get the NFL Sunday ticket every yr to watch my Steelers an Saints play. Never missed a game. 20 steelers fans I'm in contact with constantly an no one can muster a single thing that ike was good at other than speed. Tomlin lost most of his credibility leaving ike to get TORCHED every wk as he was the DB to pick on in that secondary. Easily 95% of all TD's that their secondary gave up went in ikes direction. That's indisputable. I get he's from your hometown an he's from my state but that doesn't give him a pass. Ike sucked. Always has, despite where he's from.

    LSU is the 12th winningest football program at the FBS level, not 16th. LSU ranks 16th in wins across all levels of college football !!! Since the NCAA itself started keeping verifiable stats in college football at the FBS level, LSU has the 8th most wins.
    Jimbo Fisher & Tom Herman not being at LSU didn’t have anything to do with how much money they wanted !! Fisher wanted a 10 year contract, which LSU wouldn’t give him. Tom Herman actually went to Texas for less money than what him & LSU had agreed upon. Tom Herman wanted to talk to Texas before he signed a contract with LSU. LSU right then & there moved on from Herman !!’

We have no choice coz we dig deep n2 our recruits vault an this was pretty much common knowledge by fans "in the know". But doing a lil investigation will reveal this fact as well. I'm currently on 247 sports an from Justin Jefferson's own mouth he says verbatim "I like my ranking, I like I was a 2 star and under the radar bcoz it makes me more eager to do what I do". Now those are his words not mine. On top of that ESPN, didn't even bother to rank him. Just saying. True fans will always know more than what comes out on/in a video bcoz we are just that dedicated to the turf.
