Start the 10-year clock, Teddy! ⏱ Ya boy just picked up my own Greenland Winter. Ordered an M like my various Kebs, Yupik, and Raven, but I exchanged it at a local store for a L size. Much much better. Looking forward to years of hard wearing with this thing. The Fjallraven quality is totally there on this one. Deep forest is a very nice shade of green. I also picked up when I was in the store a fresh new pair of KEB AGILE WINTERS. Hot damn Tedward, they are sexy. They included the boot hook this time. I can confirm that I needed to size up from the old fit Keb Agiles, and I can also confirm that the stretch material is thicker than both Keb Agile standard, and regular Kebs as well. It has a brushed quality to the stretch that is more soft than the Keb standards. I got them in the 2-tone grey and I cannot wait to put them to use in the mountains this winter. Will look full class with the Dusk Keb Eco Shell.
@@TedWeirum Ted, I regret to inform you that we need to start the 10-year clock over again. I've just ordered a new Greenland Winter, this time in the sexy new Maroon-Dark Navy colorway. Any tips? I have the kajka 85 and love that pack to death and have vidda pants. Never used it in heavy rain but in snow dried fast and was pretty water resistant.
Welcome! If you’re looking for something that can do both rain and snow i would go with the Keb ecoshell plus some middle layers depending on the weather! Long story short, you get what you pay for, Fjällräven has an environmental mindset like no other company I’ve seen, it’s something worth considering! Thanks for watching! :)

Hi ted im glad i have found your channel! great stuff. Im looking for a new winter jacket to use in outdoor activity. Im struggling to choose between Fjällraven Vidda pro wool padded winterjacket and this classic greenland winterjacket. I do longer hikes and bushcraft once or twice in a month. I’d say it’s more about what I’m doing, I can use it all winter without a problem and then just adjust with middle layers and so on, the key is to adapt to the situation that your in and the task you’re doing!
The Greenland winter parkas is actually one of the colder winter jackets I've owned. It's downright vital to insulate with a mid layer to prevent freezing. Also, the hood is terribly tight and uncomfortable around the neck. Great review, tho! Really well made!
Thanks! I agree that you’d need a mid layer deepening on the temperature and the activity, it’s hard to do a winter jacket that can keep you warm enough when moving or standing still, I think it’s great to be able to adapt with middle layers so you don’t end up sweating. Thanks for your comment!
Awesome review as always Ted! In your opinion, which one is the ultimate winter jacket between this, the vidda pro och the keb? I already own a Skogsö for 3 season use but I need a warmer one for winter. Big fan of layering. edit: That would be a Skåne winter, I might add :P (possibly also the västra götaland region)
@@TedWeirum the winter version or the non insulated one? Sizing is troublesome as usual with Fjällräven, even with the updated fit. I'm usually a size normal, but normal is still a bit bulky on the greenland, whereas the arms are too short on size small :)
@@TedWeirum awesome. I'm adding a so called "bubblare". How about the skogsö padded jacket, have you tried that one? Keeping this in English for your foreign followers :)
Nice video! Do you wear your normal Fjallraven size in this? I've been told the Greenland Down is oversized and I was curious about the Greenland Winter.
Hey chris, did u buy one yet? I just watched this video and im wondering which size i should buy? Im 170cm with 68kg. Should i go for S? Normally im a M size guy.
@@BK-jp4ys I tried it and they were oversized but I think they changed the sizing in the last year or two to be more accurate. You could contact Fjallraven's American headquarters to verify.
It was given to me so I just took it as it was, with that said the size was good, I’m usually a medium size and that’s what I got, there is room enough in the jacket for layers and a thinner down jacket, though I never needed to use a down jacket with this one! Thanks for watching!
Great, thanks for the reply. I most of the times wear thin poly T, base layer & synthetic jacket & outter jacket. Many jacket feel bit uncomfy around arm pit, chest.
I love fjallraven gear! It’s not as popular in the USA, so it’s scarce in NJ. I wish the gear wasn’t so expensive, it’s definitely become a premium brand as it’s become trendy away from the outdoors market and into a fashionable market as well. Awesome vid btw.
Så här gör man en review! Har varit sugen på en ett tag. Nu har man ungar och ska ut och leka i pulkabackar osv, då är det bra att veta att jackan tål det. Grymt jobbat.
How does the jacket perform with temperatures below 0°C ? I want to buy it as my primary winter jacket in cold climates but I'm not entirely sure if the jacket is warm enough without much layering.
I think it’s great, of course it all depends on what your doing and how much you move, and as you mention with layering as well. With all that said I still think it’s great!
@@rajczor Just returned my M for a S because it was too wide and saggy around my shoulders. It also hung a little too far past my wrists. I am 6'0" and 175 lbs.

@@TedWeirum I will take this opportunity to ask for something similar ;) You mentioned that you have a size S of this jacket, on another video probably an M. Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to try on this particular model. For someone who is 184 cm tall and weighs ~ 78kg, would you recommend size M or L?
Kul att höra! Ja, det är inte ofta man blir sentimental över kläder, men när man haft dom länge och dom varit med en på flera äventyr så hamnar man där! :)
A beautiful jacket, but even with the application of the Greenland Wax, its not at all waterproof. Its a very posh windproof jacket, that is way too expensive. You need a jacket that provides protection from all the elements, come rain or shine, and G1000 fabric is showerproof at best.
This is a winter jacket, the intention here is for it to withstand snow and wind, the Greenland wax can help with that, for a rain jacket I’d go with the Keb eco shell! :) thanks for your input!
Nice filmed video, the G1000 material seems to be a 60/40 mix of Poly cotton , very similar to the cloth been used in the Old USA army field jacket M65, i had one time, that jacket (with original synthetic liner) kept me warm for almost 20 years in even the worst situations so this parka will be virtually indestructible too i think, not completely waterproof , but very sturdy and will stop most wind, good quality at a price.
Thanks! Yeah you’re right, the material on this jacket will last a lifetime! I really enjoy using it and I feel that the older it gets the better it looks!
I bought the G1000 jacket for maybe 5 years. in 2 second winter the zipper has broken. 400euro jacket after about 4 months. the jacket was very warm. has been good on the body. was the best jacket I bought in life. without zipper, the jacket had no function. the 400euro inside and outside jacket are now my working jackets ...... very bad
@@TedWeirum I have a few pieces of clothing from Fjallraven, most are made in Morocco, and all are top notch. You've made a great choice with this one!
Sorry, but that jacket doesn't seem to be 10 years old. The inside would be more wourn out (I had mine for ca 2 years and it looked quite different, the woolly material flattens quite a bit) + the leather patch seems way too new...
Hey man! you are more than welcome to come and have a look at the jacket and then you'll see that it's old, its well taken care of but it is oooold! the wool on the inside is worn out!
Thank you
Anytime brother! :)
Rewatching for nostalgia. 🥰
Still got this bad boy hanging in the closet!
Greenland with layers id say!
@@TedWeirum the winter version or the non insulated one? Sizing is troublesome as usual with Fjällräven, even with the updated fit. I'm usually a size normal, but normal is still a bit bulky on the greenland, whereas the arms are too short on size small :)
winter!
@@TedWeirum awesome. I'm adding a so called "bubblare". How about the skogsö padded jacket, have you tried that one? Keeping this in English for your foreign followers :)
Skògsò is better, the Greenland is not padded in the arms 😊
Love the reviews. Many Thanks!
I'm the one saying thanks! glad you like them! :)
great review! thanks for giving your size and weight, so helpful
Glad you like it! :)
Nice video! Do you wear your normal Fjallraven size in this? I've been told the Greenland Down is oversized and I was curious about the Greenland Winter.
Thanks! Good that you asked, I was sure it was an M but now I saw that I’m using and S! I’m usually an M so you are correct! :)
@@chrisjohnphillips6352 thanks for your answer. I live in Italy and I just emailed them to ask.
Did you had to size up the jacket? Since this is a winter jacket and you'll be wearing layers inside.
Ok! My experience with this jacket has been good, I’ve had it for such a long time it’s pretty much a part of me! :)
I love fjallraven gear! It’s not as popular in the USA, so it’s scarce in NJ. I wish the gear wasn’t so expensive, it’s definitely become a premium brand as it’s become trendy away from the outdoors market and into a fashionable market as well. Awesome vid btw.
Thanks for watching! :) i love it too!
TedWeirum no problem! I subbed, check out some of my travel and hiking videos. Much appreciated
Will do!
Excellent review and follow up
Thanks brother! Glad you liked it!
Such a well made video. Subscribed!
Thanks Nick! More to come!
I'm around the same dimensions as you 179cm 73kg Do I really need a small?
Small or M, it's hard to say, depends on if you want to be able to have layers underneath too!
Amazing Jacket, amazing video production. Keep it up.
Thank you so much brother!
Thank you too brother.
Anytime! :)
Fantastic shooting and edits.
Thanks brother! :)
God long time review :) Keep up the good work ;)
Thanks brother, more to come! :)
Brilliant video, was looking for a product review, left as a subbie :)
Thank you so much! : )
Så här gör man en review! Har varit sugen på en ett tag. Nu har man ungar och ska ut och leka i pulkabackar osv, då är det bra att veta att jackan tål det. Grymt jobbat.
Det värmer Richard! Tack så mycket! Ta det lugnt i backarna! ;)
Great video, brilliant jacket, fantastic company 🤙
Thank you! :)
I'm 5 10" 220 bodybuilder body will a XL fit me
Hey Chone, that’s a tough one, I’d recommend you to find a store and try one, or order one with the possibility to return it!
Thank you I will do that awesome!!!
Precis! Bästa stället!! Du får berätta vad det blev! :)
I am 185cm, 90kg and thinking about size M. Any suggestion?
Go L! I’m thinking if you’d want to put a middle Layer and then some it could be nice to have the room for it! M I think would be a bit tight!
TedWeirum you have 181 and wearing small?
@@rajczor Just returned my M for a S because it was too wide and saggy around my shoulders. It also hung a little too far past my wrists. I am 6'0" and 175 lbs.
181cm and size small? What are they thinking?
They’re made bigger so you can fit base layers and mid layers, plus I was pretty skinny at the time! :)
@@TedWeirum I have heard they are making it on larger side. Yes, you are thin, but still i would expect size S for small people around 160-170. Im 186 and cant imagine wearing size S :D
Hahah, no I wouldn’t go with s if we’re you! Can you try it out somewhere? :)
It’s a size S I tried it on today actually! Good timing! :)
I’d go for L!
Det blev en grönlandsjacka. Tackar för videon. 👍
Kul att höra! hoppas du blir nöjd! jag har fortfarande kvar min :)
Kul att höra! Ja, det är inte ofta man blir sentimental över kläder, men när man haft dom länge och dom varit med en på flera äventyr så hamnar man där! :)
you are so good to make videos i love you videos that so nice
Thanks Daniel, appreciate your comment, thanks for watching! :)
can you drop a link to this shirt you have under the Jacket
Sure!! amzn.to/2pmVHCv
It’s a great middle layer, I’m wearing it right now! :)
thanks
A beautiful jacket, but even with the application of the Greenland Wax, its not at all waterproof.
Its a very posh windproof jacket, that is way too expensive.
You need a jacket that provides protection from all the elements, come rain or shine, and G1000 fabric is showerproof at best.
This is a winter jacket, the intention here is for it to withstand snow and wind, the Greenland wax can help with that, for a rain jacket I’d go with the Keb eco shell! :) thanks for your input!
the hardest is to choose whether winter jacket or winter parka to buy :D
Yes! It’s one of those tough life decision one have to face! :)
Parka 🤘🏼
Can't decide between buying the new Greenland winter jacket or the new Skogsö :D
Yeah it’s a tough one! :)
This is awesome!
Thank you! :)
Best jacket, i got one this year :-D
Couldn’t agree more! Hope you’ll enjoy it! :)
2 years on - how is it?
Still rocking! I haven’t been able to use it that much this year, got a lot of other jackets that I had to test and review, but we will revisit it! :)
@@TedWeirum Good to know ! I have the non winter one. Now 6 years old and still not a bit of wear. Going for the winter version in the sale.
That thing will last you a life time! :)
400euro jacket after about 4 months. the jacket was very warm. has been good on the body. was the best jacket I bought in life. without zipper, the jacket had no function. the 400euro inside and outside jacket are now my working jackets ...... very bad
I hope you contacted the company about this, I’m sure they can help you!
У меня тоже сломалась молния на такой куртке.. Поставил в мастерской новую))
Также сломались молнии на Yupik parka.. Fjallraven почему такие плохие молнии?))) 😡
Can you please write in English so I can understand what you’re saying?
@@TedWeirum He says he also broke the zipper on a fjallraven product yupik parka to be exact.
Great video review thanks from Australia
Thanks for watching brother!
Ted Weirum just subscribed
Zhivan Wasinski thank you!
Thank you! :)
Great 👍🏻 Video
Good review
Thanks Michael!
No wonder the small size didn’t fit me. I’m 172cm and sleeves were 2 inches too long.
I’ll see if I can put my own sizes up when I do reviews so it’s easier to see how a jacket would fit!
Hi there. Im thinking of buying one. Did u change to xs? Im thinking of buying S. Im 171cm and 68kg.
MCQ mentioned you. That's good for a sub'. Cheers!
Hey! Thank you so much!
"10 years later"....'nuff said. Wow, that's a durable jacket.
Still got it! :)
@@TedWeirum I have a few pieces of clothing from Fjallraven, most are made in Morocco, and all are top notch. You've made a great choice with this one!
Thanks Mr. Hanley! I enjoy the quality, durability and the thoughts behind the products! :)
Sold!
Nice! :)
Fan nu måste jag köpa en jacka också.
Japp! Det är tufft! ;)
Those look like snaps, not buttons. That they still work after ten years says they are well made snaps.
Joe, this might sound stupid but I’ve been looking for that word for a very long time. SNAPS! Won’t forget it now, thank you!
Your soon is a nice boy 🤗

I like the theme music. Zeppelin fan?
Hey Rylan, thanks! Yeah sure! I listen to a little bit of everything as long as it’s good! :)
It would also be weird and stupid for me to say that it's ten years old if it isn't.. no point really.. but thanks for watching!
Hey! No need, thanks for the invite though :) I guess it just looks like that in the video, sorry for the negativity. Love your videos in general - keep it up!
Don’t be sorry man! You saw something and you asked me about it, I’m glad you asked other wise you might still think that I was showing a new jacket! Another way to see the age of it is the label on the inside, because it’s not there, the newer ones got it though! :)
Looks more like an autumn jacket to me...hrrrrr
It’s 100% a winter jacket, it all depends on the weather and your activity’s, if you have the right middle layers for your task this jacket is great! Thanks for watching!
@@TedWeirum thanks for your reply. I actually got the Fjällräven nuuk parka so that's why I was also interested in some of their lighter jackets. since I was so happy with my purchase with the nuuk.
No worries man! :) the Nuuk is incredible, great winter jacket!
Damn a size small is roomy on you dude these jackets run big
Yeah! Room for extra layers or a vest underneath :)
The new models don't run as big.
@@ppbur just ordered a small one looking only at the video. Im 70kg and 172cm tall, do you think it will be ok?
You should be fine!
@@TedWeirum Thanksss :)
SMALLLL¿¿¿ But how....
What do you mean?
Good to know, hope you’re able to return it!
Soooo expensive The North Face same quality
Ok! I don’t know about the quality of north face but They’re probably good!
Looks like a Walmart jacket
Yes, it’s based on the original Walmart jacket!
