I recommend sizing down on this. I'm about 5'10" and always wear a size Medium but I have this in a small and fits me perfectly. I tried the M and it drowned me.
@@joakimtollerud2172 Yeah, maybe go for a size M. If you usually go for an L, you're probably an M in this jacket. I am 5,10" and 80kg and my size S is still quite loose fitting. I usually take a medium with the odd item being a large but the Fjällräven Greenland in a size M was huge on me.
I have this jacket in the night sky colourway. It’s super comfortable and very warm. I’m 5’7” and a stocky build and have this in XL. Fits perfect. For info, I also have the Fjallraven Vidda Pro in XL and the Fjallraven Ovik hoodie in XL as well. It feels extremely robust and can tell it will last a lifetime. Primarily used for walking, casual wear, work etc…. Great review. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
@@some_developer I’m only 5’7” and I wear the XL due to my stocky frame. The arms aren’t too long for me but I don’t like short arms on jackets anyway. I prefer a bit of ‘give’. The jacket fits a fraction longer on me than on the models on the fjallraven website because I’m not over 6” and slim. If you’re a slimmer build then the jacket would drape over your frame more than mine as I have thick shoulders. If you Google the jacket, I’m sure you’ll find exact measurements somewhere. You won’t regret it. It’s a belter!!!
Both the Greenland Winter and Skogso aren't really active pieces; they're better suited to light walking and everyday use. I definitely wouldn't use them for cycling or outdoor gym use.
I'm afraid we don't stock the Singi Winter Jacket and can't seem to find it on Fjallraven's website, however the Greenland Winter Jacket is an excellent city jacket.
Not on the whole, no. Some of their jackets are a larger fit, others are bang on, others are slim. Their more 'everyday' garments such as ones with Vardag in the name tend to be looser, while others designed for trekking/hiking are typically slimmer.
I tend to get cold in almost all weather. Is this coat warm enough on its own (with just a button-down and tee underneath) to go out in 20F and below or is the pile not insulating enough?
I'd find it warm enough when moving, but if you run cold you may have to stick a fleece on underneath. Layers are always better than one big jacket; even for everyday use. Harry
Hello, Thank you very much for your video! I have a question, I bought this jacket two days ago and I really like it. I wanted to know if it softens over time because I find it a little stiff at the moment ? Thanks in advance :)
As you wear anything made from G-1000 that has been waxed with Greenland Wax you will find it does soften. It will stiffen back up with a fresh top-up of wax, but will quickly get softer and more comfortable.
@@AskeGW eh Hi! so I don't wear it now because it's summer but in winter I don't find that it has become more flexible. It really remains a stiff fabric compared to other jackets from other brands in my opinion.
@@Blown86 So G-1000 comes lightly pre-waxed from Fjallraven. It will soften (the Greenland Winter I bought 12 months ago is softer than the second one I just got) with time, but you can also wash it in hot water whgich will melt any of the wax out and leave you with a jacket that is as soft as G-1000 can get.
Hi there, great review BTW, I am looking at ordering one soon, and i'm going toward the large too, my chest is 103 cm and waist 86, just over 12 st, i'm around 5' 9" ... This looks like it'll keep my upper legs warm too :) :)

Comparing this video with your Skogso review (I’m 6’3” as well so perfect) looking at the Greenland / Greenland winter vs Skogso and Vidda pro, they all look good!!
I would choose the Greenland Winter Jacket. I just bought one myself, and it's really nice in the Deep Forest color. I want to say that it's warm even in -5 celsius, as long as you have a fleece or a thick shirt under :)
Mike Duncan If you’re looking for all-season, then does that include summer? Because the jacket for me is a safety, bc I live in the bitter cold of Scandinavia 😄
Mike Duncan Well I think this will be too warm for summer nights. What I do have myself as well, is the Fjällräven Kaipak Jacket. It’s more like a hardshell, with no insolation other than the G-1000. But I use it for fall/spring with layers under :)
They're all fantastic options, but all feature different fits. The Skogso is long and slim, whereas the Greenland Winter is shorter and wider. They'll all do what you're after, so it comes down to which fits you best. Kind regards, Harry.
Skogso for everyday use and countryside walking, Greenland for just everyday use. Durability will be almost identical thanks to the G-1000 outer fabric; the only difference is the Greenland is filled with down whereas the Skogso uses synthetic insulation.
@@trekitt Thanks for reply. Greenland Winter Jacket has pile lining and is not Down insulated though. Maybe you are thinking of the Greenland Down Jacket.
@@marcusstoner1641 Ah, sorry, misread the title of the video! It's largely the same answer; the Skogso is brilliant for a little countryside walking as well as everyday use, whereas the Greenland is more aimed at just everyday use and possibly bushcraft due to its bombproof pile lining.
Dark Olive always looked brown to me (having worked for them I have seen plenty of items in this colour), unsurprisingly there are actually brown olives ;)

Is greenland winter jacket or Skogsö more suitable for long walks, modest winter cykling and outdoor gyms? Does Skogsö become too warm?

Is that logo on arm removable without ruining jacket?
Theoretically it should be okay as it's just stitched on, however we've never tried it.

Metal zip fantastic ! I have a Jack Wolfskin with a plastic zip which is virtually useless
