FYI, if you ever struggle securing the fish, there's a strategy that completely prevents the fish from interrupting your secure. Reel in all the way, stop reeling(if you're using toggle reel, make sure to toggle it off) then pump and secure. Actively reeling while trying to secure the fish is what causes your rod to bounce up and down from the fish fighting.

When I’m fishing lake trout I usually use a size one spoon and just let it drag the bottom and I usually do pretty good on it

For lake trout all you have to do is jig a 1/0 shad all the way to the bottom and then across the bottom. I’ve caught five diamond lake trout this way

Early, also use a 2/0 jig head with a large worm with a reel speed of 1 and jigging for lake trout.

Hey Flinter, I’m not seeing the official angler discord link, just your own. Would you be able to post it in the comments or in the next fishing video? Thanks!
