  • The Sony Xperia 10 VI will officially launch on May 15, and ahead of my unboxing and review here's a look at the latest leaks and rumours. From a much-changed camera setup to limited gaming potential, here's those Sony Xperia 10 VI whisperings so far. Price, UK release date and full specs will be revealed next week!
Some leaks reveal that the latest budget-friendly Sony phone will feature a more squat design. Is that 21:9 screen really gone for good? Well, recent renders suggest not, and it would be a shame to see the Xperia 10 Mark 6 lose that iconic Sony Mobile finish.
These renders also show a new dual-lens camera arrangement, with the telephoto shooter scrapped like on the 5 V smartphone. Instead you'll need to use the Sony Xperia 10 VI primary camera, which is backed by an ultra-wide snapper.
Performance should come courtesy of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which we also saw on the Honor 6 Lite mid-ranger. You can expect PubG etc to run fine but Genshin Impact will struggle on higher graphics settings. The Sony Xperia 10 VI should offer decent battery life though, plus a headphone jack and expandable storage.
So that's all of the Xperia 10 Mark 6 leaks, let us know your thoughts below!

the reason i got xperia 1 and 1III is because of 21:9 ratio. if they change that, i think i would be better to upgrade to galaxy s24 ultra or s25 ultra instead.

I had two Xperia phones a few years ago... Both were great when new but software support was rubbish and after a year or two never got any more updates. What's worse... After 2-3 years both developed an issue with reception.. you just couldn't use them anymore. I got a feeling that that was intentional to force you to buy a new one. Never again... Changed to Samsung since and zero issues.

I had the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact from 2016-2023, over 7 years. Worked in Australia and travelling SE Asia, just swapped SIM cards. Never had overheating or software issues. Still got Xperia and general Android updates when needed. How silly it is to worry about updates when it still works. If it's not broken don't fix it. Yes it was old and seeing limitations but it still worked. That applies to any ageing tech. That phone had a bad drop and cracked the back and side of the body open. But it still worked lol. I upgraded to the Xperia 5 IV, 256GB model and happy with it. Reviewers complained about the 128GB storage on their T&E review models. How silly they don't even check there is a 256GB model. Can also add a Micro SD card for more storage lol. Again no SW or overheating issues so far. The Xperia 5 mark IV screen sticks out slightly and chips easily. Not the best design, so I got a wallet style case. I'm not trying to sell you on it. I spent my own money and use what works for me. I'm just being honest. I don't need to upgrade to a fancy phone every year. Absurd how people talk trash and never tried it, or can't prove it. If I listened to all the negative naysayers and fakes I would never have tried anything. Go live your life.

@@markfogel3682 Yes I saw your comment and respect your mileage may vary. You got a bad phone. You didn't say what region it was from and used it, I guess UK? Support will vary depending on country. I had good luck with my phones as mentioned. I'm not trying to sell you on it or debate. Just being honest. I run my updates and restart my phone about once a month. I click on Android "update all apps"; and the separate OEM / OS updates when I get the notice pop-ups. That applies to any phone: Apple iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel, Sony Xperia, etc. Same for any smart device: laptops, desktops, tablets, etc. You have to run updates then Restart the device. Maybe that helps you and others. Even a simple hard Reset when your device is 'buggy' or not working right.

Feedback: I got the Xperia 5 IV (256GB) after your review and happy with it. My international model has 256GB storage. Maybe you get 128GB T&E model. Also the screen sticks out slightly higher than the phone body, causing it to chip easily. Even with a screen protector and case. Be mindful of both points with future Sony Xperia reviews. Appreciate your reviews and keep up the good work. 👍

Sony phones seem to have more or less the best batteries on the market, which would make them a perfect phone for the long run if only they had a longer software support cycle. If they update their support pledges to match Samsung and Google I think that my next phone will probably be a Sony.

Any screen(for mobile and tablet) above 500 gives the best reading experience.
The pros of having a display above 500 ppi are
Good colour reproduction and solid contrast ratio.
There will be a lot of detail in screen and viewing angles are also great.
So u don't have to zoom unnecessarily for details.
These days phones are coming with a pixel density as high as 401 ppi.
I hope this was useful for you.

Sony makes interesting phones but nothing about them inspires me to pay their usual asking prices. Apple sells mostly top specs but most importantly on their end a feeling. Samsung also sells a feeling sorta but puts a lot of time into the bleeding edge as well. Both of them sell products that undeniably represent social sides in the tech community and then Sony. Over the years the niche they seem to be marketing to has been discussed time and time again but I’ve never actually seen one ever. I think they must be great quality phones but idk. It would’ve been on Sonys best interest to take the hype of PlayStation really use that as the primary way to draw attention to their phones and then discuss all the phones other strengths but instead idk. It’s a Sony phone and all I can say is they’re very hard headed, and the design and confusing names seem to be the rock they’ve decided to stand on.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures 18 дней назад

All good points and totally agree. People are paying for that 'feeling' and 'identity' when they buy a product. It's not logical or rational but it's true. Marketing and advertising companies spend millions of dollars on ways to manipulate people to 'feel and identify' with a product. It's nothing new and what the Matrix movie was about. The action sci-fi is just for fun entertainment. The underlying theme is actually about mind control.
Sony doesn't release products consistently in each country. That includes cameras, TV's, etc. Customers have complained for years. My country Australia has the same problem. Often have to look online on the grey market.
Yes they should have focused on their strengths like the PlayStation and digital cameras.
Their generic serial number style names have killed good products. No one can remember the model names.
They are very hard headed. Old school perfectionists and very slow to change and update. An IT professional working in Japan said the same of their general work culture. Don't get me wrong he likes it there and enjoying himself. They work hard and can party harder too lol. Also keeps him employed as they need a fresh foreigner to implement new tech updates and changes.
Thanks for sharing constructive feedback like a responsible grown adult. Sometimes comments can be haters and trolls. Even worse, overgrown children. Respect friend.

9:46 Hence why one built into the power button would make more sense. Or, if they're so dead set on the fingerprint sensor being circular (rather than the pill shaped or rectangular design it would need to be if it was placed on the phone's side) why not just stick it on the back of the phone somewhere near the middle?
Also, not gonna lie, even as an iPhone user I would still laugh at the idea that Apple can build a pretty damn good (albeit expensive and heavy) augmented reality headset that pretty much works as intended but can't figure out how to put a fingerprint sensor under a display.

I stopped considering Sony Xperia phones after I got burned with the Xperia T from ages back!
I was a bit disappointed that the inventor of the Walkman couldn't get the headphone jack right. Three times it went back before my network operator sent a letter back entitled "You were right!" I know I was right, pin or something inside the jack kept sticking and permanently cutting off the speakers. So no thanks Sony!

Imagine if the head of Sony mobile woke up one day, looked at what Google are offering with the Pixel 7a and said "You know what, maybe we should invest in some auto mode image processing, and maybe we should put a mid range processor in our 399 phone, and maybe we should add wireless charging like some others at this price point". Thought i'd take a guess anyway .... been offered Apple for the first time but never bothered with them but it is for around the same price. My only issue is they seem to release a new one every other week so I hesitated on the offer thinking I'd be offered a ten year old one for nearly forty a month
As you can tell I don't know anything about phones. I just like good looking phones with decent office abilities and internet surfing features with a rad display - was hoping this Sony would cut the mustard
