    Thanks for the video! I am currently looking at buying a Dillon XL750 and was also considering the Armanov tool head upgrade. It looks very compelling from your review.

    Is there any reason why you don't have the powder/expansion and crimp floating?

    That amount the die is moving is more then a thousands of seating depth change. So maybe better bullet concentrically. But a serious sacrifice in OAL.

      You should do your research sir…

    Thank you for your video! So, I have a XL750, and this one was a full replacement from Dillon.
    This new one is much better than my last 750, but like the last one, the brass case will tilt slightly going in to the sizing die. This is with perfect adjustments, including making sure the case it fully seated in to the shell plate.
    This causes uneven sizing of the brass. Do you think this will fix the problem?

      Can you see it tilt and if so, is it tilting along the circumference of the shell plate, so to speak, as it is being raised into the sizing die? If so, it sounds as though the shell plate is not indexing correctly and isn't properly aligning with the die - or the tool head is not drilled and tapped in the correct position - which (if the indexing is only off on the one die/station) could possibly be remedied by a free floating die (as long as the indexing error isn't too large).

    What did is that with the numbers and markings?

      I believe that is the Redding Competition Seating Die. The top is marked like a chronometer. You see this on Ultimate Reloader a lot. Nice but very pricey.

    I think the original dillons are better. They entire head free floats and is much faster and easier to slip in and out. This locks the head which makes it much slower to insert and remove vs the dillion. And you have to buy extra rings and pins to get the free floating effect which you don't with the original dillon head. More of a step sideways then forward on most calibers.

      @@colin8601 I realize that, but the movement is way over stated. it sets the dies in same place each time.
      It also helps to align the dies, you only tighten them with the press all the way up, then this movement is a godsend. If you lock the head you are removing this free float ability from the press. It looks good on paper and helps sell to the uniformed but its only bad in the eyes of people selling that locking head parts. Also it can be looked at as just another feature as people that insist in locking the head for what ever reason can do so on the Dillon. Win win.

      @@Physics072 so what about the measured improvement in velocity? Do you think the author lies?

    • @Physics072
      @Physics072 2 года назад +1

      @@tnapierala I thought he said a lower SD of 20 fps. Meaning his ammo was a little more consistent. I can get sub 10fps SD on my standard dillon heads. Its anecdotal evidence. It could be he took more time setting up this die vs old die. Or his gunpowder drops were more consistent.
      Its possible he had slightly more consistent powder drops. Don't think he went into how he did that part. Too many variables at play and not enough fixed variables to say. I'm not saying anyone is lying just its anecdotal evidence.

      @@Physics072 I know of several very successful F Class and PRS shooters who are using this system. Using the stock Dillon toolhead, I'm getting variation is seating depth up to 5 thousands. Using the Armanov takes me down to no variation or maybe one thousandth.

    • @Physics072
      @Physics072 2 года назад

      @@torreyintahoe Yea I can see how that would be possible if you lubed the necks. And the movement of the head was not consistent. Might have some bullet seating before the head comes to a firm natural stop. My guess is that rounds that were off by .005 were over seated (too short).
